UGH
It's the summer before my senior year in high school.
Meaning I have to know where to go to college and what I'm going to do by the school year.
What I wanted to ask you all was, was it hard to get into college (those that are there) and what cities are neat (in USA plz) that Lily might want to go to school at?

Depends on your interests. I'm not going into collage just yet but I just switched schools to focus on art and computers because I want to be an editor. What do you want to do for a living and then look for a collage that mainly studies that type of thing.

It's not "hard" to get into college, you just have to know how to swing the application process (there are lots of guides online and in books to help show you how to present your education and self in those things, and a guidance concilor usually helps). Also, of course, some school are harder to get into than others, depends where on the ladder you shoot.
I think San Francisco, New York, New Orleans and Boston are pretty neat places, but it really depends what you want.
If you're really shooting in the dark, like it sounds you might be, buy one of those books that's like "Best 375 Colleges" or whatever number they're at, they add a few each year. Then just go through each page and mark it up based on whether the place has stuff you like, stuff you don't, etc. and apply to a bunch.

To add onto Maramas thoughts, this webpage helped me quite a bit.
America's Best Colleges 2008I'm not in college, but I'm going into my junior year of high school. While I'm not worried about being in a "top" school, in retrospect, the bottom of the list is what I was interested in. See, before I looked at this, I was really interested in going to the New Jersey Institute of Technology. But that's tied for last. =/ Do I want to go to the best school in the nation? No, but I don't want to go to one of the worst, either! Also, if you browse US News' college section a bit more, you can filter college listings by location, majors, etc. :3

i myself am going to school in oakland. it's a private girls school and my grades weren't that good (less than a 3.0 junior year so i'm suprised i still got in) but it's all about what you want to do. mine's a liberal arts school

Oh, and I know its a bit late in the ballgame but OMG! THEY HAVE WESTERN STUFF! I can totally make my character look like a firefly character...well, after I get like 7000 gold, but still! I'M SO EXCITED! Must. Have. Browncoat! rofl xd I saw all the pants with the chaps and such, but I didn't find the western long coats until today! -runs around in circles dancing- xp heart

I like how every time I see lists like that I have to check where/if my college is on it.
I remember having to apply and everything. It sucked. And I didn't even apply to that many places so I can't imagine how these people applying to like...six must have felt. And then I went to the one that has a pretty, small campus, a pirate mascot, a huge workload and NOT ENOUGH DRYERS.
.....laundry sucks, you guys.

Hai guyz. I'm hijacking this thread to complain about school:
I HATE GROUP WORK. SRSLY. There is this group project I'm working on and it's going to give me a stomach ulcer the size of a football. I realize that not everyone cares about environmental science as much as I do. I know Municipal Solid Waste is a boring subject to research. But we have stuff due soon that ISN'T BEING EMAILED TO ME. burning_eyes I CAN'T MAKE AN ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY WITHOUT REFERENCES YOU GUYS.
not to mention all the other crap I have to worry about

I always make an extra effort when it's group work so that I don't let my friends down.
