Right now I own a 12ft black cowhide bullwhip, that’s just for scaring the neighbors, and hitting targets at a distance like bottles and cans for when I’m bored. I’m going to be getting another one for use on a sub, but I’m not sure what I should get, and I’ve never really used a whip on a sub. I have a few questions I need help with.
1. What length should I get?
2. What type? Bullwhip, Stockwhip, Snakewhip, etc.
3. Any specific make? Like nylon, cowhide, kangaroo hide?
If it helps at all my sub has a high pain tolerance.
If anyone has any other information that can help me out, that would be great.

Just speaking opinion, me having no experience or really much researched knowledge on whip use on a sub, but as for the first part, I would think a shorter length would be better. One reason being that it would be easier to use then, inside and all, and...it would generate a bit less force. *nod* And thus I has said my piece.

speaking as someone who plays sub often enough, the long thin whips make me shudder. My play partner and I switch on and off with lengths of nylon webbing [[[coincidentally what we also use for binding, so it works.]]] and small braided leather floggers.
There's something about a long single whip that just. . .I don't know, it wouldn't be my first toy pick.
And Please take note, the rule of thumb with single whips is do not use it on a sub until you can lash it at a balloon without and without popping it. Then you'll have enough control to exert over a sub and your subs limits.

I know pretty much nothing about whips.
But if you can get ahold of her, I know Susan knows a good deal (or at least if I'm remembering correctly, she does, I could be totally wrong).
I think she's on the offsite a lot more then on here, though, so you might try reposting on there or just private messaging her through that.

I've answered on the offsite, though I'll be putting on this site a slightly edited version also posted offsite in the forums for anyone who also has questions.
Of course, feedback is welcomed, as this is only my perspective on things, and I'm always willing to add to my knowledge.
