New Battle System:
Out of fairness I was forced to enlist a new Battle
system. Though I am not quite sure how everyone will
react to this…. And though I know a few of you will
have a problem with having a battle system. It needed
to be done.. I’m sorry if it upsets you and you decide
to leave but this way everything is fair.

* Also please note that this is just a rough outline
of how it will work. The battle system will be tweaked
as we need to be to fit how we do things here in SQ!….
heh. So if you see any flaws in the system feel free
to help me out. By Pming me …. Thanks.*

Reason(s) behind the new battle system:
1.) The battles are taking to long to complete.
2.) The increasing amount of you can’t do that posts.
3.) Undecided battles. (Where both fighters have valid
points as to why they won a battle.)

Rules of the new battle system
1.) Each Quester starts out with (1) 6 sided dice.
(Until levels are gained.)
2.) No one is allowed to post in battles unless you’re
in it.(aside from myself)
3.) There will be no complaining about the out come of
each battle. (You can call it luck of the roll or what
have you but a Win is a win.. and a loss is a loss..)
4.) You only get 1 dice per post after the first post
(well depending on your level)

Basics:
Each Fighter starts out with 1 6sided dice in which
they can choose to roll or save the dice as chant.
(Power up) but if 1 person decides to save and the
other decides to attack its and auto hit but not kill
and minimal damage. But if the person who didn’t
attack on the first round with the other they now have
a choice of using a 2 dice attack or saving up for a
bigger attack later. Where the person who attacks on
the first round is now back to only 1 dice to use as a
block or an attack. See the Example of a first round
attack followed by a 2nd round attack.

Example:
*Kuni holds the hilt of his sword
pre-pairing himself for battle by closing his eyes as
his aura begins to encircle him*
(Saved 1
dice)

*Shosami grabs her dagger and launches it
at Kuni’s chest. *
(uses 1 dice attack)

*Kuni unable to fully dodge the dagger as
it hits his chest but the blade of the dagger barely
cuts his skin, Kuni shoots an Ice orb at Shosami
*
(uses a 2 dice attack)

*Shosami see’s the Ice orb flying at her
she uses her Fire burst attack to block the Ice orb *
(Uses a 1 dice block)

* Note even though Shosami only has 1 dice if she
rolls a higher total then Kuni did on his roll then
her block would have stopped the attack even though it
wasn’t a chanted attack/block. Though if Kuni had
rolled higher then shosami he would have had hit her
with a normal attack. Also Kuni could have used one of
his dice as a block then attacked when shosami was
wide open he went for a less powerful attack*

To do the 1 block 1 attack hit the dice are chosen by
the way you post so if you said I block your attack
and use the Graceful blade of the Elf to attack your
left side. It would have been that the first dice out
(the one on the left ) would be your block number and
the one on the right would be your attack number.. So
as long as your block dice was high enough to block
the other fighter’s attack you are able to block then
attack. Otherwise your attack is done with out dealing
any damage and you are both back down to 1 dice each.

((Max dice is 20. 10 attack 10 block) Which if you can
save your dice until that round you will pretty much
pwned the other person as long as your total dice
value is higher then his/hers.))

Now some of you are probly thinking well then All if
have to do is post “I attack you with fire” or “I use
a Magic barrier to block” that’s fine but I will be
watching this battles and base on style, length, and
complexity of the posts I will be increasing the
number of dice you can start with. So please pay some
attention to the detail in the description of what you
did in your posts. (note you must stay with in 2 level
of the person your battling so if you are a level 4
you aren’t allowed to attack anyone lower then level 1
below you unless they attack you first that is. So if
a level 2 challenges a level 4 to a spar and wins it
auto levels the level 2 player to a level 3.)

ninja Ideas for posting!

-Every stop, or certain stops you sell weapons of some sort for a price in money...Money price posted below.
-Every time you defeat someone at your current level (IE your level 3 you fight another level 3 and win) you win X amount of gold...the X being a predefined number...50?
-Every time you defeat someone BELOW your level(either 1 or more, doesnt matter) you win X amount of gold(the predifined above) subtracted from W, the W being gold per level not gained up to 0...Example...25. If you fight someone 1 level below you and win, you win only 25 gold...
-Every time you defeat someone above you, you win X amount of gold(defined above) added onto Y amount...the Y being a number decided(by kuni? lol) as the amount of gold MORE you win for defeating someone above your level. For every level you add the number in again...IE...the number is 50, your a level 1 and you defeat a level 3...they are, therefore, 2 levels above you. If you earn 50 gold more per level you'd win 150 gold.

-Certain stops you get a random event...Stops decided by Kuni. The system would work that if you rolled a certain number you got an event, the events being predetermined. Example:

You come onto the next stop in your journey...It is a brightly lit town. Roll the dice to determine your outcome..
1-2 you get a random encounter with an NPC
3-4 you find two items, pick between the two because you don't have room for both OR
5-6 you find a secret store, you can buy any 1 item.

-All the new weapons(bought weapons) could have super special techs but if the attack or the defence works depends on the roll of the dice.

Example- Lilwolf uses his weapon's special tech-darkbringer...Success! The area is plunged into darkness and all enemy dice rolls are -5

OR

Tenchi twirls his staff and slams it into the ground, activating his weapons special effect. (If success, enemy is forced to their knees due to injury...-1 dice per roll...IE if you usually use 2 dice you now use 1.)

(Submitted by Tenchi)

*Idea to add on to that by Lilwolf*

-If a weapon's tech FAILS it has a reverse effect, such as...

-Lilwolf attempts to use his weapons special effect but FAILS...He is blinded for 1 post. -5 for each roll.
(what I mean by -5 is if I roll a 6 I now roll a 1...etc etc)

(Submitted by Lilwolf on Tenchi's idea)

-Critical hit system...What I mean by this is if your using 1d6, and you get a full 6(which is pretty rare) the number is doubled...Gives a possibility of 1 dice defeating 2. Can work with defense as well. If two dice are used, same idea, except you have to get the highest number on BOTH dice. IE...you need 2 6's instead of one, BUT you get 24 instead of 12.

-New weapons(if implemented) are given certain attributes...IE...A viking sword of might uses 1d10 instead of a d6, and gives a +2 to the final roll...IE...I rolled a 8...it is given a 10 now...If this is to work with the above system, though, the item would be treated as an 8, not a 10, so it wouldnt be doubled to 20. Can also be used for subtractions, or to get LOWER dice rolls...IE: Get a 1d4.

i just think this is a distaster waiting to happen. a battle should be determined by skill not luck. even though luck is a factor, it shouldn't dependant on it.

As I stated in the OOC chat this is pretty much only going to be used in deciding if a move was a hit or a block... you know?
