Does being disfunctional go together with Wicca? I'm asking because I know someone who says they're Wiccan but yet it just doesn't seem like it. So do you think it's possible?

What do you mean by 'disfunctional'? That confuses me a bit when you put it like that. Do you mean when someone is Wiccan but who does not incorporate Wicca in to their daily life, or when they aren't very good at raising energy or making/doing spells? If that's the case, I think that that happens to many people, especially beginners. Beginners haven't yet learned that Wicca isn't just a religion, but a way of life, and that magick isn't something you make, but what you are and what's around you. And I myself am not very good at doing spells, although I'm quite good at making them. So if that's what you mean by 'disfunctional', I'd have to say it is possible, but I'd much rather use the term 'not adept' or 'beginner/beginning'. The term disfunctional, to me, sounds like a disability.

Sorry about not clarifying. What I ment was that she's got a lot of problems whick come from being in a dysfunctional family. And I was wondering could somebody honestly say they were Wiccan but yet not want to solve their own problems?

Well if that's what you meant, then yes, they could call themselves Wiccan. I can not see why they couldn't be Wiccan if they didn't want solve their own problems. Maybe they're afraid of taking the steps they need to solve their problems because taking those steps may cause more problems. It is their choice whether or not they want to take the steps needed to solve their own problems, religion has nothing to do with it.

Darth Shiny says: Of course she can call herself Wiccan. She can call herself pretty much whatever she wants because that doesn't have anything to do with her desire to solve her own problems. Religion isn't about wanting to solve your problems, it's about connecting with the world around you. Duct tape is like the Force.

those who seek out wicca are generally coming from a place where they arent very well served by there current beleifs or lack there of, so disfunction could be a factor.

life is funny that way, its always trying to ballance itself. we go from one extreme to another to try and sort out where the ballance is then find it after a lot of soul searching.

Also keep in mind alot of problems aren't solved so to speak, but managed. She may be working on how to deal with the issues in her life in ways that you just don't see.

actually I don't think it's possible not to have dysfunction. So therefore, dysfunction is normal, expect it.

dragonwings87 actually I don't think it's possible not to have dysfunction. So therefore, dysfunction is normal, expect it. ive always said theres no such thing as perfection so why strive for something that by comparison would make you weirder?
