So, I've been wanting to get an '08 Ninja 250, but my mom won't let me get a bike, so in the meantime I'm going to be doing research on bikes and so far I've found out the Ninja is the best beginner's bike so far. Any suggestions? Opinions?

~SxE Rot Is~~the EX`s may be the "best" newbie bike but from what i`m told an older bike such as a GPZ (much like a ninja)
1.Cheap 2.Cheap to fix if laid down (not alot of plastic) 3.Cheap on insurance 4.Good power 5.and long lasting since its Kawaasaki!~ ~Your Worst nightmare! SxE~

I started out on a Ninja 500R for my first sport bike and I found it to be a great leaner bike. Very forgiving but has a great deal of power if you know how to use it.

250s are a good size to start on. But getting a brand spanking new bike could be expensive to fix when you drop it. I'm assuming that if your mom won't let you get a bike, then you'll probably be paying for the bike yourself. If thats the case then try and get something cheap and used. It just has to go, and stop when told to do so. You'll learn the best on something cheap.
Do you have anyone you can go with to look at bikes with you? Someone who perhaps knows a little about mechanics or even another biker?

I was told its about $350-400 Full coverage for a GPZ/like for a 16year old male(insurance companies are sexiest bastards)
But with a ninja will go up more since they are more expensive to fix.~Oh and the GPZ came in 750, 1000, 1100, 250, 305, 400, 500, 550, 600, 750, 900 Check`em out here ~Your Worst nightmare! SxE~

~SxE~ Yeah, if you weigh 120 lbs. and are on speed.
If you weigh over 150 get a 500R. You will be better off.

Well I was told a Honda Rebel is a good beginners bike as well, but its a cruiser. Its also a 250 and Honda has a reputation of being forgiving on the clutch, though that is what I've heard. I can't say by experience.
