The morning is still fresh, but by now the sun has begun to show its full face and fade from deep red to yellow-white. The waves crash soothingly on the beach, and the sand is still quite cool under bare feet. A cool breeze blows in from the vast deep, and occasionally a sea-bird can be heard to call. The scene is overall quite soothing, as two tall, fair figures move away from the cove and up the beach.

Llune walks beside Savith, gripping his hand in a comfortable manner, for the moment lost in her own thoughts and trying to decide how to begin. She opens her mind to allow Savith a peek into the reason behind her delay, as if to wordlessly say, "I'll be with you in one moment, just let me form a few sentences to get rolling."

A half-smile rests on her pale pink lips, and she hums softly under her breath. The cool breeze ruffles her hair a bit, and she squeezes Savith's hand softly from time to time while she tries to figure out how to begin.

Perhaps he will ask her some prompting question?

Now why, in the High Ones' names, would Savith go and do a thing like that for?

"What's on your mind," he asked after long moments past between them.

He's a glutton for punishment, perhaps.

Llune giggles, almost a bit nervously, "Oh, well... Quite a bit, I suppose." she began... "I'm not sure where to start... The Mountain..." She pauses, nibbling gently at her bottom lip.

"No. Wait." She turns her head to one side, not stopping her walk, but looking at her son, "Tell me, first, where were you when it all, ah..." she waves her hand around in the general direction of the whole world, "Happened?"

The waves crash soothingly along the coastline that's littered with bits of rock and shells, but clearly wasn't always a coastline, as there are patches of soggy grass under the sand in many places.

"Grove Holt," Savith replied dully, just letting Llune hold his hand. "I was... on a mission," was all he stated about it.

Llune nods, expecting such a short answer, but hoping for more.

"I was outside the Mountain. Running from the Chosen." she says simply.

If he wants to be tight lipped, *she* can be tight lipped as well. But that doesn't mean she can't be enigmatic enough to incite his curiosity.

Mother knows best... how to dangle the carrot and catch a child's attention. At her undetailed response, Savith's tight-lipped countenance falls away into a shocked and slack-jawed stare.

"You... were... what," he asks brokenly, unable to wrap his mind about her words. "What, in Voll's Name would possess... running from the Chosen... Mother! Do you have any idea...?!"
PostPosted: Tue Jul 15, 2008 7:53 am

Llune smiles, knowingly - this is precisely why she said what she said the way she said it. "Well... There's very little that would have taken me from my home in such a foolish fashion..." The hand that's not holding his pats her belly gently, "But I had a reason."

She turns to Savith and smiles gently, "Recognition, apparently, can cause a clear-thinking elf to think much less clearly." Is she referring to her attempted escape? Or to some of Savith's Recognition-related antics?

"Besides, it's a cruel twist of fate - had I been within the walls of the mountain instead of running for freedom I would have been crushed like so many others..." She pauses here, not having realized that she was acknowledging the probable deaths of so many. The thought stops her short for a moment. All this time her mind has been laid open for Savith to glance at, if he chose, to see the emotion behind the words. And up until now it was a mind full of fairy-tale-like romance. And then at the mention of the huge loss of life her mind snaps momentarily shut, like the blinking of an eye when an eyelash is being removed.

Slowly her mind opens again, and her mouth turns from a grim line into a weak smile, "It's a wonder, how things happened the way they did... I may never have survived the disaster had I not been trying to flee... with Errite..." She pauses again, and were Savith to glance at that open mind he'd see the image of a tall, dark skinned elf that Llune could look upon with nothing but absolute adoration. And then, in a rush of childish longing, Llune bursts out, "Oh, Savith, I wish you could have met Him before all this!" Her eyes are wet with moisture, but she is not yet weeping, "I wish it was simpler and we could all live peacefully and in joy."

Deeeeeep breath. Llune frees her hand from Savith's for a moment to wipe gently at her eyes, and she is once again composed and proper. "I do not understand how I was Recognized by Errite. And I had no idea the power that such a meeting could hold..." She breaks off, lost in her own thoughts and memories for a moment, very likely she could be lost for many long moments if Savith were not to goad more information out of her.

Savith's eyes were hard until Llune hinted at Recognition Related Antics. He turned his face to her stomach, still as flat and untelling as ever. A light frown played on his face as he felt the fairy tale romance of his Mother's recognition, the thrill of it all, and he played it against his own recognitions. He had begun to nod when Llune snapped her mind away. The absence was staggering and his steps faltered once. He stayed there, just recovered from tripping on the sand, eyes wide and locked on the sand.

His mind filled in for itself what Llune's had sought to spare them both. That stomach turning sensation of falling and tumbling rocks brought the faintest hint of nausea and the mind numbing fear of loss. Her first words after the pause didn't seem to be heard, but at her outburst, Savith's eyes open and he turns toward Llune. He might have pulled her into a hug, were he not so stand-offish or Llune had composed herself.

"Recognition.... changes.... everything," he replies softly, also lost in his thoughts. Recognitions to impure elves, then to a traitor. Life was never dull.

"But.... how did you Recognize an outsider? Was he a visitor? Why didn't I hear of this?" Savith questions finally, turning to look at Llune again.

"That, my beloved son, is quite a mystery." She pauses, her tongue touching the roof of her mouth as she forms words to get the ideas across. "I had... dreams." She stops again, knowing full well how silly it sounded, but, as these are the only things she has for clues, she continues, "I had these dreams, for so many years, incredible, adventurous, beautiful dreams... And these had happened all my life, I can't remember a night of sleep when I didn't have one dream or another that was absolutely otherworldly. And they were all so, SO beautiful..." Her mind is, once again, open, and through the blur of faded memories and unsure recollection of a complex dream Savith could see (if he chose) some of the fantastic landscapes and colors and emotions involved in the snippets of dreams Llune is sharing.

"And during one of these magnificent dreams, I came across another elf, a handsome elf, tall and dark skinned with long straight black hair and honey colored eyes. And when the two of us met there was such a surge of emotion that I woke immediately up." She pauses again, looking hard at Savith, in the hopes that perhaps all this made more sense to him than it did her.

"And then I fell ill, was absolutely nauseated, ALL the time. I went to our Lord," it's a bit out of character the bitter tone that goes along with the mention of the mountain's Lord, "But she had no time to 'toy with a feather-headed elf's imaginary condition.'" The tone is, again, a bit bitter, and it is clear that the 'toy with' bit was a direct quote from Winnowill, "She sent me to forage for herbs with a Chosen and not bother her again with such trivial aches and pains."

Llune sighed, "It wasn't uncommon for me to visit the outside under the watchful eye of a Chosen. With you gone for a time, I was the only other that knew precisely which herbs and flowers I needed for dyes and teas. I had been visiting the outside every few days since you had left on your mission, and the Chosen that was assigned to guard me had become quite bored with his duty." She smiled then, gently, recollection blossoming - here comes the good part. "So I was taken outside and left to wander about the edge of the forest and in the plains to find what I needed, while the Chosen busied himself with some light hunting until I sent that I was ready to return."

All this while, Llune's mind has been flashing pictures of the places and people mentioned. Savith could see Lord Winnowill's sour face and dismissive gestures as she called Llune a feather head. He could feel, only slightly, that feverish nausea associated with an unfulfilled recognition.

"And then, on one of these outings, shortly after the odd dream, I was wandering a bit deeper into the treeline than I normally did. I'm not sure why, I was simply drawn that direction - for some reason the deeper I entered the forest the lesser my discomfort. And then, from behind a boulder He stepped." Her mind seems to let out a dreamy sigh, "And our eyes met, and suddenly it all made sense." She smiles again, lost in the memory, and not even noticing if Savith is listening any longer, "We had recognized, somehow, in that dream. I don't understand how it's possible, but it must've been so. Because upon our meeting it was clear to both of us."

Llune blushes, forgetting that the next part is not something she would care to share with anyone - it's far too personal. "You know... ah... what is supposed to happen next..." She blushes, her alabaster skin fading from pink into a deep red, "But we managed to resist and have a courtship, although it was, admittedly, quite short... I had an excuse to leave the mountain every day, and the privacy to meet with him... It wasn't too long before..." She breaks off... Could she blush any more deeply? Maybe... "Ah... Before... We..." she moves her hands together in a gentle pressing action, which is meant to illustrate the fulfillment of the Recognition without saying it aloud. "Well... You know," she finishes, a bit flustered and still a beet red color.

Llune clears her throat and composes herself, though she's still quite pink. "Clearly, though, there was more than a natural call to be seen to. I have not had emotions so intense since..." She pauses, stopping herself before she can say 'Elian.' "I have never had such emotions returned." She blushes again (still?), and smiles, looking at her feet as she takes small steps across the wet sand, "It took very little for him to convince me to stay with him for all eternity, to leave my mountain home and spend forever in his village far from the mountain. He'd traveled for moons, two hands of moons or more, to get to this spot, to find me." Her mind, again, was a fanciful fairy tale, "And I agreed - this connection between us is far more than a mere Recognition. It is absolute." Her voice is strong, sure, more sure than she's ever been of anything. It's the voice of someone who has found true love, realized destiny, and given themselves over to it completely.

"And upon our escape, the world exploded into chaos." Her mind, once again, closes, sparing Savith from the true distress caused by watching her beloved disappear as she fell into the deep chasm, "The ground opened up and swallowed me, I do not know what became of Errite, or the handful of Chosen that were tracking us. I only know I woke half buried under rubble at the bottom of a Chasm and was barely able to send. I received no answers."

He eyes are wet, again, and her mind open enough for Savith to see that the feelings of solitude and loss come from the absence of her Recognized and no other. "I have not been able to reach him yet, though I believe, with all of my soul, that I would *KNOW* if he were dead." She turns, finally, to look at Savith, to meet his eyes in a questioning way, as if to ask, "Wouldn't I know?" The pain is apparent in her face, as well as the hope that perhaps Errite is out there, somewhere, searching for her still.

"And that, my son, is how I came to be Recognized."

Savith listened to it all, keeping pace with Llune across the wet sand. He feels it all, mind comparing the fairytale to the brutally reality he experienced the first two times, and smiling faintly as he recalls his most recent brush with souls and the completion he came to know. But her sudden loss reminds him of his own, and he frowns deeply, eyes troubled.

"Yes," he replied after a time. "At least, I did." But which time, he neglects to elaborate on.

Llune's nod is like a whisper. She would know. Good. Then there's still a chance, even if she has to wait another 8,000 turns, there's still a chance.

She squeezes Savith's hand, and takes a deep breath of fresh sea air, looking up at the sky. What a riot of colors streaking fast into blue as the sun climbs over the edge of the horizon! Llune's pleasant mood is largely restored just gazing at the beauty that surrounds her.

"Did I mention He was a plant shaper? He was." She says, launching into the next part of her story. "And He had seeds and seedlings and roots, all saved in our packs, to plant along the way to His home... I found one of those packs once I'd dug myself out of the debris in the chasm." Her mind is a montage of her lifting the stones off her legs, wandering in short bursts of gliding, sending with an aching head...

"I sent as far as I could, but I was so weak... There were no answers." She doesn't falter at this part, and indeed rushes through to keep from letting it sadden her again, "So I picked a direction and started moving. And eventually I came across a crack in the rocks with a spring flowing from it. I made this spot my home, planted some of the seeds and they managed to grow. I think His plant shaping magic was still in them, because they seemed to grow so fast!"

Llune smiles, and trips a bit over the hem of her dress, nothing worth getting worked up over, just a typical clumsy Llune move, and chuckles, "It was so neat letting the little things grow." And then she sighs, "And then, for some reason, one night I woke up floating in a raging river down the chasm. And by the time I got myself out I was close enough to hear the sends in the cove..." She squeezes his hand again and finishes with, "And you know the rest."

A sea bird caws overhead, it's lonely cry swallowed by the hum of the waves crashing on the beach. A gentle wave flows into Llune's path and she skips a bit, dodging the cold water as best as possible and giggling ever so slightly. When the wave subsides and is no longer an obstacle to be reckoned with, Llune turns her head toward Savith, "Tell me, how did you manage to get here, to this beach, to our cove? And where did the others come from?" she asks, hey eyes curious to know, really, just how did they survive, and how here.

"I was in the Grove," Savith replies dutifully. "Starsong and I were hunting. I was hurt. She nursed me back to health and we returned to find her home gone. We went to the mountain, found it destroyed, then meandered our way here." He shrugs lightly, "As for the others, you would have to get the story from each of them in turn. I have not pressed them."
PostPosted: Sun Jul 20, 2008 8:36 am

"So... The others - Relim, Peyote, and Dancer - were all living at the cove when you arrived?" Llune asks, just to clarify that she understands.

The day is finally starting to warm up a bit, and the sky has turned from such brilliant hues to a cloudless, pristine blue that goes on for miles and miles. Llune feels fabulous at getting her story off her chest to one that she loves so much. It never, *ever* occurs to Llune, not for a moment, that Savith isn't her true, blood son. He's her Son, regardless of origin.

As another wave splashes playfully upon the wet sand Llune lets it splash over her feet and grins, kicking in it a bit playfully. "I must remember to thank StarSong for helping you get well enough to find your way here..." she mentions idly, just making conversation.

The wolfrider elf is a bit of a mystery to Llune, as she's hardly seen or spoken to StarSong since her arrival. All the same, Savith mentions her with such positivity and Llune now understands why.

She was right... This is going to be a good day afterall! Her mind is open and full of happy little songs and thoughts and ideas and flavors, and she's almost but not quite skipping.

"No," Savith replies. "They arrive dshortly before you did. It was a busy day." While Llune feels relief, Savith's lips are pulled into a frown as he tries tomake heads and tails of the elfess's story.
