So I was at Borders Bookstore the other day, skimming through the history section as I always do, and couldn't help but overhear a paranoid zealous liberal (as if there was anything else here in California). She was giving her friend the usual dribble about wiretapping; that it infringes upon our rights, Bush is trampling over the Constitution, and we're all losing our rights.
I was just more than amused.
Lately we heard about the rescue of Ingrid Betancourt, but the details will never surface in our mainstream media. It so happens that 'wiretapping' played a role in this operation with individuals in Miami. Intel was gathered for the eventual rescue.
Liberals will come up with their theories as they always do as to why the wiretapping is such a bad idea, but here is a perfect example of the government playing a role in doing a job effectively with the right tools. They don't sit around all day listening to you making pizza orders, like liberals will convince you they're doing.

*slides down fire pole* When in doubt demogauge. Bush is Hitler, no war for oil and this evil wiretapping thing are all the same. When you don't have the facts on your side demonize the other.

The worst liberals secretly wish *they* were the ones doing the wiretapping. It would feed into their Thought Police agenda. Someone making a racist remark about how certain racial groups act at his business? Take him down! Someone planning to leave his wife for his male lover? Aww, he's just exercising his right to free love.

Paranoid zealous liberals? Here in California?! Noooo way! I've never encountered one of those! wink
Anyway, Bellbird is right in his assertion that if the liberals/Democrats were in control of the executive branch of government (God forbid should this be the case come November... eek ) they would have a totally different view since it would be them with the power. That whiny driveling liberal has nothing at all to worry about in my opinion. If she was ever the center of a wiretap the 'evil government agent' sent by Bush to 'violate her constitutional rights' would probably either fall asleep or bash their head against the wall having to listen to her prattle on for any great length of time.

Paranoid Liberals probably the best entertainment you can see outside of Comedy Central.
