Konya had decided to once again wander just a bit from home. She was growing more and more lonely with the fact that her family was only her and her mother now. The lioness had little friends in her pride, though she did still love them as a whole dearly. It was just time she looked a bit at the big world outside of her home. "Ooohh." The lioness was admiring the different flowers that grew outside of canyon walls of her home. Everything seemed a bit rougher out here, but in a good way. She trotted through the jungle, keeping track of where she was going, but wanting to go further than she had before. She'd find something interesting to remember, whether it was a neat trinket, or even- "Ouch!" The lioness's paw had gotten stuck within a root, wedged between it and the ground. "Oohhh. Figures." She sighed, as if she was used to this, before wiggling her paw to try and get it out, not being too quiet about it either.
Chukua's ears perked when he heard a voice not too far off. The blue leopard looked down from his perch high in one of the nearby trees to see a lovely female that seemed to just be standing there. But as he looked closer he could see that her paw was stuck. "Excuse me ma'am." He called down, "Ya look like your in a bit of a pickle." He said, picking up some of the lingo that he heard the humans use.
Konya's dark brown ears flicked backwards as she heard the voice. She slowly glanced upwards, noticing quite a leopard. No wonder she perhaps didn't notice him, he seemed to blend into the sky like he was a part of it, his white parts mimicing clouds. She glanced back down to her paw, tugging just a bit more. It had loosened a bit, but it still wasn't free. "Well," she said, turning back up to face him so he could hear her. "It looks like I am in trouble, isn't it?" She tried to keep her tone cheery, but she was a bit nervous. He seemed nice, but she didn't know him at all. Or well, she had never actually spoken to a leopard before, either.
She didn't seem too bad. He climbed down from the tree and stood a few feet away from her. He felt confident he wasn't going to be attacked like last time. She had her paw stuck, how much trouble could he get into this time? "Would ya like some help with that ma'am?" He asked as he sat down and tilted his head to the side, wrapping his tail around his paws as to not seem threatening.
She lightly laughed, swirling her body around as much as she could so she could face him. It wasn't that she didn't trust him, she just....wanted to be careful. Tugging a bit at her stuck paw again, she sighed. "Even if I hate to admit it, I did get myself pretty stuck." She shook her head at herself, almost laughing about the whole situation. "Obviously I should be paying more attention to where I place my feet than keeping my head in the clouds." Her tail swished behind her as she looked him over. He seemed kind enough, and she was probably making him nervous with her antics. Taking a deep breath, she made herself calm down. Nothing would happen out here, she was safe. "I umm...I don't know how it's stuck, since it did budge a little...."
At her last comment, Chukua quickly got up and slowly walked over, looking at her paw. "Hmmm.. It does look like it's really in there." He said as he looked back up to her, "How'd ya get it stuck?" He asked, blinking his blind eye.
"Ummm. Well, when I was walking, I must have been able to wedge it under with the soft ground. I'm not quite the most gracefull lioness you've seen, let me assure you," she laughed brightly. "I guess it's just more embarassing that someone saw me get stuck than no one at all!" She lowered herself to the ground now, knowing that she needed to get her paw out before she really hurt herself. The silly conversation was good and all, but she would rather get her sore paw out before a more hearty conversation. She tried to pull up the root, but with the angle she was at, it wasn't going to budge.
He chuckled lightly, "Well, with all due respect ma'am, I didn't see you get it stuck." He said as he smiled gently at her, "I only heard ya then looked." He said as he looked back down to her paw and placed his on top, looking at the damage. He then pawed at the soft dirt around her paw. He bared his claws and softly started to paw at the ground, digging away at the dirt, being careful of her paw.
Konya seemed to catch onto what he was doing quite quickly. She wanted to help him, but with the way she was situated, it was difficult. She watched the sky blue leopard dig around her paw, impatience swelling her heart. She finally took her free paw and tried to help, pushing around the large root as well as helping to move some of the dirt further away from her paw. With a bit more pulling, she was able to feel her paw shift again. A broad smile growing on her face, she grew even more determined. Pulling much harder now, her paw slipped out from under the root. She had pulled enough to loose her balance, and she tumbled back a bit, landing right into a bush. Dizzy, she pulled herself out of it to thank the leopard for his help. "T-thank you! I'm clumsy, I did tell you, didn't I?" she laughed.
He chuckled and lended her a paw, helping her gain her balance again. "Don't worry your pretty little head." He said and smiled, "It was my pleasure to help." He nodded his head lightly. "Name's Chukua. Mind if I ask yours little ma'am?" His southern like accent heavy in his mouth.

Konya's ear twitched again, letting the unfamiliar words absorb within her mind. She thought that they were cute, even if they were something she was unfamiliar with. A small, shy smile grew on her face now, the much brighter one disappearing within it. "My name is Konya," she said. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Chukua. Quite a different way of speaking, I like it." She felt like everything of her's was plain and boring, but he had said pretty...it gave her a bit of a sparkle in her eye. "Are you merely passing through?" She knew she wasn't quite in her pride's lands, but it was rare for her to really see anyone else living out here.
"Well Miss Konya, the pleasure's all mine." He said with a smile, and he winked at her gently. "Why thank you!" He said as he sat down and wrapped his tail around his paws again. "I picked it up from my caretakers when I was young." Lies. They weren't his caretakers, they were his kidnappers. "Yes ma'am. I'm a traveler by heart. Can't stay in one place for too long. My paws start itching if I do." He laughed lightly.
"Oh?" That was interesting. She had assumed it was part of where he may have grown up, but it seemed like it was a whole mix of things. Maybe it took far more than she had initially thought to talk like that in some sort of manner. Whatever it was, she did actually like it, even if it took her one more second just to make sure she was completely understanding him. "That's weird," she said quietly. "They itch? Well, I can't blame you for trying to stop that by travelling everywhere! You've probably seen lots of things before...that's neat." She shrugged her shoulders, with a smile still on her face. "I think my extent are these jungles. I guess I'm just like a rock, stuck in one place, just like my name's sake. Hehe." She offered a small bow, still thankful. "Thanks again for your help. It means a lot, especially since you helped a stranger so willingly!" Her paw was sore, and probably would be for the rest of the day, but otherwise she was fine.
He gave a nod in return. "I'm glad I was here to help." He smiled lightly, thinking of his last encounter with a lioness. "Normally I'm not as outgoing on first sight. But I couldn't let a young lady like yourself be held captive by that root all day." He said as he glanced back to the root and wapped it with his tale, wincing a little. It was harder than he thought.
"You're too kind." He was entertaining, and quite flattering as well. Was this a common leopard trait? She wouldn't know, but it seemed something that could fit them, from the stories she had heard. It made her giggle a bit. Surprised upon hearing herself laugh, she flushed a bit, looking a bit over to the side to let her cheeks cool down. "As if like the sky, always watching. Kinda silly, isn't it? That's what you remind me of, though." She swayed a bit before testing out her paw, gingerly stepping on it. She would need to limp home and lay for the rest of the day. She stuck it out, flexing her claws a bit. She felt silly, but she also wanted to reassure herself that she was fine. "It sure was a tough one, worse than I've seen before." Her eyes noticed that he was playing with it a bit. Heh. "Maybe we should push a little of that dirt on top of it so this won't happen to anyone else."
It was his turn to blush. "Why thank ya Miss." He said and thought for a moment. "Ya know, I think that's the first time anyone's said that." He smiled, "The sky huh?" he looked up to see it peek through the leaves of the surrounding trees. At her next comment, he was snapped back out of his daydream. " Your right." He said as he looked back to the root. "That'd probably be a good idea." He said as he started to cover the root with dirt.
Konya took a few steps forward to assist him in covering up the root. She did her best to cover it as much as she could, trying to bring over some dry and dead foliage to help make it even more covered. She did her best to push as much as she could underneath the root where her paw had been stuck. That way no one would get stuck like she had been. "There!" She felt proud of what they had done, doing something good for someone that the both of them might never meet. "Seems good enough, doesn't it?" And that meant that there really wasn't much else for them to do together. She didn't want to push her thankfulness too much, so she paused for a moment, thinking about what to say.
He nodded, "Looks good to me." He said as he looked back to her, accidently placing a paw on top of hers. He quickly brought it back up when he realized where he put it, "Oh, I'm sorry miss." He said and placed it behind his head in embarrassment.
"Oops!" She laughed at him, humored by the accident. She didn't think anything of it. They were trying to fix the hole together, and probably weren't paying much attention to exactly where each other's paws laid. All she could hope was that she hadn't put dirt all over his! "It's quite all right, nothing to worry about." She still thought it was silly, and it almost made her feel as young as a cub again. Not that she was old! She just knew that she was all grown up now. "Thanks again for everything, it means a lot. Even if I repeat myself over and over." Her tail flicked behind her, her ears perked forwards. "It was a pleasure to meet you, Chukua. You've been very nice to me, and it's a good change."
He smiled softly, his tail flicking as he stood. "It was no problem Miss Konya." He said as he nodded his head lightly, "Please think nothing of it." He continued to smile, "The pleasure's all mine. I hope that we will stumble upon each other sometime soon."
"I do hope so. Perhaps your itchy paws will bring you back here some time, and we can speak again. As long as I don't get caught under neath some roots next time as well!" she exclaimed as she winked. She turned to leave, nodding farewell. "Take care of yourself, and stay safe. I hope to see you again, if not here, elsewhere!" She knew that she needed to return home and care for her paw. And then she would have to spend the rest of the day under her mother's watchful eye, explaining just how she had managed to injure herself. She would decide later on the walk home if she would tell her mother about the kind leopard that had saved her from her situation as well.
