It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change."
-Charles Darwin

"The new age in technology is trailblazing the future of humankind. It will not be long before we see not only a change in our mental and physical aspects, but in our meta, as well.

What are you saying...?

I am saying that; there will be a time where technology will change our souls."
-Excerpted from 200X article of Scientifica Universalis; interview with Inukai Masuoka

Mankind has spent over four thousand years attempting to gain total dominion over their lives. They have sought out every aspect of the Universe in an attempt to analyze and control it.

It is only natural that the Universe respond in kind.

Creating your character, with a Step-By-Step example.

It occurs to me that there might be some confusion into how to handle the process of creating a character; so in order to hopefully clarify things I will create a step-by-step introduction into how to create a character for this RP using an example character. When you have read and completed your own character, you will PM it to me, and I will have it added to the list of characters.

[1-Name]

The first and foremost essential in creating any character is a name, for all intents and purposes, my character's name will be June K. (Kantarō) Ikeda.

[2-History]

From then on, you must decide upon your history PRIOR to becoming afflicted by the Anomaly. This can be a very simple cursory example, or an extremely verbose background, it is your choice.

[Born in November 7th, 1992 in the Shibuya District of Tokyo to Hideki Ikeda and Juri Ikeda. Since birth June has exhibited numerous pathological inhibitions; causing her parents to relocate her from school to school, but no matter where June was placed, trouble always followed, and whether by request or demand, June was removed from each school. In her personal diaries, June inscribed prophetic recollections with an eloquent writing far advanced beyond her own education.

"Where I stand upon the Throne of the Kings; commanding the most ancient of regimes, possessing power beyond any mortal means."
-September 15th entry.

June's personal doctor and psychiatrist had diagnosed the girl as developing sociopath; and that her continual need to violate the personal rights of others was a cause for concern, and the best possible remedy for her was seclusion.

On May 29th, 2008; June Kantarō Ikeda was sent to live in the dormant temples of an isolated Shinto temple in the Ogasawara Archipelago.

On May 30th, 2008; The first signs of the Anomaly effect occurs in Siberia at 14:08:03. At exactly 14:09:05, June Ikeda begins to exhibit adverse effects of flu-like symptoms, her care-takers at the Shinto Temple take her to a nearby hospital on the Chichijima island group.

At 15:43:03; the entire fourth floor of the Chichijima Medical Bay is obliterated.]

[3-Appearance]

The next step is to provide an adequate physical appearance of your character. You need only provide an elementary description, with that in mind it is not necessary that you provide any clothes or accessories your character wears. Those are extraneous for the time being. ONLY PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES.

[June Ikeda has not yet fully developed in terms of her bone structure; maintaining the body of a prepubescent girl, coupled with her small stature (5'1) and her skeletal frame (97 lbs), it is safe to say that June Ikeda bears a very malnourished and gaunt look, with a skin that is pallid skin complexion. The only healthy part of her body seems to be her hair, which in contrast to her skin, is actually illustriously silky and straight.

Ikeda's eyes are inherently black.]

[4-Anomaly]

The fourth and possibly most important step is deciding how your Anomaly is affected, of course, by that I mean what powers has your character gained? This is basically a combined step, dictating not just how your character's strength is, but how the Anomaly has affected their lives. Remember YOUR ANOMALY MUST DRAW A CORRELATION TO SOME ASPECT OF YOUR CHARACTER'S LIFE. I cannot stress that enough.

[As a child, June was prone to writing increasingly paranoid diary entries; each one detailing June's supposed 'previous life' as a demonic muse incarnate; influencing the lives of powerful, malicious human beings from Jeffrey Dahmer to Tomohiro Katō. As this devilish spirit, June writes; her one goal was to cause humans misery, fear, and upset the balance of emotion.

When the Anomaly struck June, her delusional writings became true, and her presence began to instill violence and hysteria in those that surround her. When she was taken to Chichijima, the nurses soon became susceptible to this affect, and one of them immediately struck a tank of explosive gas, and set it ablaze.

That is her first power; June Ikeda has the ability to passively affect the minds of normal human beings, causing them to lose control and possibly go berserk. The level of insanity that occurs depends on the mental will of the victim, and how much June chooses to exert it.

Ikeda is also a minor in telekinesis, with an affluent ability to mentally control the flow of movement and momentum an object has. The strength of this ability has not been determined yet, but so far Ikeda has exemplified as being able to pick up objects as large as a dining room table.

Lastly, Ikeda displays a knack for mental interruption. Though she cannot fully read the thoughts and minds of her enemies, she may choose to disrupt them and cause them to lose the train of thought, often causing a long enough lapse in judgement for Ikeda to strike.]

...AND THAT is all you need to give to me. Remember to read each guideline thoroughly and then PM your character to me.

In The Anomaly, you will be sure to encounter other characters similar to you; and in doing so, it might be best to read up on who they are and where their allegiances lie.

  • Your character may end up being split into numerous factions and sects that have been created by the Anomaly Society. It is your choice whether you will decide to dedicate your powers towards goodwill, or commit atrocious crimes against the human race.

You the RPer have the choice of allying with other RPers. You may form super-hero/villain teams and ultimately decide the fate of the other players if you wish. If you want, you are even free to submit yourself to government experimentation.

    * For now, the list remains close to empty.
