To the North is the Bartacian Sea which stretches out towards the east and curves out to the ocean. To the West lie trees and South a road that leads off to other populated towns.

Tryan was completely confused and disoriented. For the life of him, he could not figure out how he had ended up in this place. He had stepped through that door, but had not intended to remain outdoors. When he had decided to return, he couldn't find the door. Thinking he might get a better idea of where he was, he had taken off into the sky. Even from up there, though, there was nothing he could identify as familiar. Unsure how to proceed, he followed the scent of the ocean to the coast, where he decided just to play around flying through sea spray and exploring the shore.

Rune was rather perplexed as to where she was. She had been expecting to show up somewhere unfamiliar, but she had expected it to at least be populated. She was starting to wonder if her assessment of the trees she'd been living in this last month or two wasn't a bit off - perhaps they did enjoy a trick or two. She shook her head, shrugged her shoulders to hike up the cropped leather jacket that was her only upper garment, and took a look around. If this turned out to be a deserted island she was not going to be happy. However, just as she was about to trudge off in search of civilization she noticed a dark shape darting around near the shore line, and called out to it tentatively from her place more near the trees. "Oi there! Hello? Can you tell me where this is?"

It had been taking the better part of Tryan's concentration to manage the kind of flight he was practicing, and he visibly 'stumbled' at the sound of Rune's voice. "Tripping" over the wave he'd been following when it caught the edge of his wing, he struggled rather mightely to regain some altitude and save himself from crashing into the ocean.
Locating the source of the voice, he took several moments to determine if he should approach her. He was growing tired though, and she seemed harmless enough, so he landed, a bit awkwardly, a safe distance from her. His chest heaved as he attempted to catch his breath, but he maintained a defensive posture, prepared to take off again if he needed to.

Rune tipped her head to the side as the creature landed, taking a few steps closer. He seemed a bit skittish, so she stopped well out of reach so as not to scare him. "Um... hi." She gave him a warm smile and a small wave, rather unperturbed by his strange appearance. Though now that he got closer, it seemed unlikely that he could talk with a mouth shaped like that. She repeated her question from before, but telepathically this time. "Can you tell me where this is at all?"

He seemed startled to hear her in his head and ducked, laying his ears back and then twitching them forward again. Narrowig his eyes slightly, he turned and inspected her with one eye and then the other. If she could hear his thoughts like she could make hers heard, she would hear a mess of sound, like a group of people all fighting to make their ideas heard. There was no real voice, and few actual words, and there was no arguing, but his mind was definately a disorganized cacophane of ideas with a vague theme.
At first, he was attempting to interpret her question, then he was trying to answer it. Most of the answers he came up with were litteral in the extreme. They were here. She is there. He is here. Standing, by the ocean, by the trees. Attempting to communicate with her the way he did with Ontaros, he took a moment to focus his thoughts and present her with a picture, but it was just of the scene behind him. They were where they were, and that was all he knew.

Luckily for this creature, Rune was rather used to having to decipher disorganized thoughts. His answer was incredibly unhelpful, but since it seemed to stem from naivety rather than rudeness it was rather endearing to her. She chuckled softly and proceeded to look around. "Well then, you don't know either?" She shook her head and then gave him a small bow. "Well, in any case, my name is Rune. Do you have a name?"

His ears pricked up again when she laughed, but he just stared at her when she began speaking. He reacted a little oddly to her bow however. It was clear he was surprised, or intrigued, as he stood a little taller and turned his head slightly. He returned her bow a bit uncertainly, but remained where he was, practically laying flat on the ground. For a moment, he showed her an image of herself with an echo of her name, almost as a question, but it was quickly replaced by one of himself and his name, "Tryan." The image was blurry and unstable, since he didn't have a very clear idea of what he looked like, but it was still obviously him.

Rune gave another warm smile and then took a few more small steps towards him, her hands folded in front of herself. "It's nice to meet you Tryan. Especially since you're the only person that seems to be around." She laughed, then nodded towards the water. "Well, I haven't got anything to do right now, and I didn't mean to interrupt your fun - would you like to join me in enjoying the beach side?"

He barely understood a word of what she said, but between the vocabulary, tone, and her non-verbal cues, he had an alright idea of what she meant. He sat back, much more relaxed than earlier, and turned to look out at the water. After a moment, he got up to go back down to the waterfront, but made sure not to let her get too far behind him. He wanted to be abl to keep an eye open for trouble.

Rune chuckled softly at his wariness, but followed after him nonetheless, keeping a comfortable distance so as to keep from spooking him. once she got to the edge of the water she settled down on the sand and slipped off her coat, making a pillow with it so she could settle onto her back and listen to the water. The fact that this managed to make an already immodest outfit even more revealing was apparently lost on her - or at least if she noticed she didn't care.

Tryan stopped when she did, and turned to see what she was doing. Apparently as unphased as she was, he casually turned back toward the ocean and laid down in the sand next to her, his 'hands' curled under him similarly to how cats tend to do. Laying like that, he looked more like a dog or large cat with wings and and a beak than anything else.

Rune smiled and looked over at Tryan next to her, chuckling at his catlike posture. She reached over and placed a hand lightly behind his head, scratching lightly behind his ears. "You know, you don't need to be scared of me. I'm not going to hurt you."

He watched her warily, and parted his beak slightly, bearing his needle like teeth, but refrained from growling. Despite her assurences, and in spite of his own warning, he tollerated her attention quietly and docilely.

In spite of the slightly threatening expression he'd assumed, Rune only smiled and continued to scratch gently behind his ears, closing her eyes and settling into the sand. She knew she was pushing her luck with the creature as it was, so rather than try to impress her harmlessness on him any further she just decided to enjoy the scenery. May as well relax for a while before trying to find out where exactly she'd ended up.
