I'm not the only person who hears a song on the radio, and somehow manages to instantly relate it to her favourite pairing, am I? There are quite a few songs right now that make me think of Shikamaru and Neji; I wanted to know if you guys have got any songs that remind you, too? And, like, why? For example: Has anyone heard the song I Really Want You by James Blunt? It's the chorus of the song that does it for me, I think.. 'I really want you to really want me, but I really don't know if you can do that.
I know you want to know what's right but I know it's so hard for you to do that.
And time's running out as often it does, and often dictates that you can't do that.
But fate can't break this feeling inside that's burning up through my veins.'
And yeah, I guess it's kind of weak...but I just can't help but imagine every time I hear it, how Shikamaru might want to be with Neji, but how difficult it might be for Neji to just accept that and go with it prig that he is and Shikamaru thinking..like...'Your fate be damned, I want you anyway! D:' or something... yeah.... Anyone else weird like me?

I always end up thinking of ShikaNeji, NaruHina, or some other OTP when I hear a certain song too!
...I just wish I could recommend a song right now. (<-- Lazy.)
(Since you're on LJ, did you happen to see that one ShikaNejiShika OST someone made? I think a lot of the songs on that would fit them nicely.)

Yeah, I saw that a bit ago. To be honest, I'd already had most of those songs, and for the exact reason that they reminded me of ShikaNeji in the first place xD''It was still pretty neat, though.
It was kind of what eventually gave me the delayed idea to much later ask other people about it >/ -procrastinates-
That, and I'm so inactive...I needed to..like..do something.

Well, I once said that the song "Make Me Over" by Lifehouse related to NaruHina, so maybe it could still relate to ShikaNeji. I mean, there's still a Hyuuga in the equation, after all. (<-- too lazy to find new songs.)

I..uh...haven't heard that song. So I couldn't say.
My playlist is loaded with songs that remind me of one pairing or another e.e' So they're all kind of at my fingertips.
'Teardrops on my Guitar' -it's what I'm listening to now- minus the teardrops and the guitar, make me think of ShikaNeji too e.e'' I'm so easy.

the first song and the chorus you put, Takeshi, would be perfect for a song fic or at least for a fic inspired by this song. James blunt make a lot of romantic song, isn't it? XDD For my part, the problem is i don't listen a lot at radio or TV . The playlist of the shikaneji which was spread on LJ, i have it but didn't listen it yet. è_é Well, then, there is a song that doesn't really aply to the pairing but i always think about this song each time i read a fic where Neji is described as an exquise beauty. But it's a french song. le plus beau du quartier- Carla bruniCarla bruni is our ...hm...first lady in France but before it she is a singer. And i really like some of her songs. And to let see why i always think about this song, i translated one chorus (i didn't think you would be interested to have the whole song): Quote: But be care of my beauty, my delightful courtesy I'm the king of the desirable And i'm there un-strippable Observe-me Observe-me up and down you will not see two (people) like this I am the favourite the dear love of all this ladies and their husband, Look at me. this song is pretty fun, the one speaking is pretty full of disdain. Hmm...I can't think of any songs of the top of my head that make me think of ShikaNeji, but tha's cuz most of the songs I listen to are ..umm...not uberly romantic. *cough*deathmetal*cough*. But one song makes me think of NaruHina- "See You again" by Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montanna (gawd, I SOO hate babysitting, but after listening to pop for 1/2 hour, I got my revenge my making the lil brats listen to Rammstein *laughs evilly*) Ehem...anyway, it would make an awesome NaruHina AMV to that song, and use clips of every time Hina sees Naruto, she passes out in the show.
As for ShikaNeji...um...gah...*racks her brain*....I got nuthin. -.-

Ohh, Shini. That song is beautiful ;; It's so...easy listening, even with sarcasms x3 The calm overtone of the song hides the sarcastic undertone of it really well, and it's funnier how well it really does suit Neji xD So amusing. -went and downloaded it, in fact.-
Um..I er....I wanted sooo badly to write a fanfiction based on that James Blunt song, actually xD'' But...well, you know. It's hard to write when you're a little bit illiterate or just this side of stupid. so..yeah. Even though I have a pretty firm idea of what I wanted to write about, it's just not happening.
Now I just want someone else to write it sweatdrop

Yay! -waits for video to loooooooad- I'm craving chocolate cake myself. (Maybe because I wrote about it in my cake oneshot and because it's "that time". xp ) Yeah.... Oh! I can honestly say that I've never heard that song, nor the band or..group or..whatever..that sings it. Care to share some lyrics, Ten?
And because I'm such an old fart, what about "I don't want to miss a thing" by Aerosmith? Only because it's given me a drabble bunny...those poor things always die on me <3
Imagine, if you will: Nara Shikamaru is the number one laziest ninja in all of Konohagakure; everyone knows and he is not ashamed to admit that there is nothing he would rather do than sleep the day away. Except for, and this is a little less well known, those few odd nights when Neji will fall asleep unguarded in his bed, under his comforter, and sleep is the furthest thing from the Nara's mind.
And then he wakes up cranky and grumpy from lack of sleep the next morning and all that "omfgiloveyousomuch!"-ness magic is gone. Tada, I'm such a spoil sport.

Aerosmith...that's the band with the lead singer with the really huge mouth? Wasnt' that song from some space or astronaut movie or something? *vaguely remembers it* never saw it or anything, was too little, but I think I've heard the song on the radio at work...maybe...
