Akeneia has fallen. Khadein has begun a mad conquest across the continent, with hopes to recover a lost and forbidden treasure. The small island of Talis has yet to be touched by war, due to the pirates that traverse the seas. The Empire assimilated the armies of the countries it conquered without resistance, which is odd from any viewpoint. The large, never ending army marches in all directions, ready to take over more countries for their mad king...

Profiles This RP uses the UPS. Gaian Name: Shale Darksnow Character Name: Deryck Age: 19 Class: Pirate Inventory: Scimitar, assorted keys Bio/Personality: Deryck is a pirate, which means he likes rum and the ocean. He couldn't care less about the happenings on the mainland, except if it hinders the shipments of rum and other commodities. Unlike other pirates, his speech is easily understandable and his quirky, upbeat attitude sets him apart from the 'scallywags' of the sea and hides a dark secret... Appearance: http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x134/icaruszx/pirate.jpg ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Gaian Name: herbblade (!) Character Name: Kira Age: 17 Class: Rogue Inventory: Stuff Bio/Personality: Kira was from Akeneia before it fell. She is now a refugee in Khadein itself, travelling as fast as possible away from her homeland and the Empire. Like many, she has a dark secret and a good reason for dressing as a boy. Appearance:Normal (girl): http://fireemblemblog.files.wordpress.com/2007/06/farina.jpg As a boy: http://fireemblemblog.files.wordpress.com/2007/06/erk.jpg ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Gaian Name:Seron-738 Character Name:Luciana ‘Lu’ Ethin & Kadar Age:17 Class:Valkyrie (FE 7&8 Style) Inventory: Physic & mend staffs, Shine, Purge, Elixir and Grooming Kit with assorted horse stuff! When they were killed, her older brother kept up the payments, the last letter she received said he was in Warren. She’s been thinking of leaving Talis and finding her older brother before she loses him too. She knows nothing of the war on the mainland and except of her light magic, knows nothing of combat. To make up for her lack of fighting ability, she is an excellent healer and rider. Relying on Kadar to protect her, she is very caring and gentle and will help anyone in need, be they friend or foe. Appearance: http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x36/STARS-0823/RITW.jpg http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk45/AcanthaAlpha/Animals/Horses/Horses_Horse.jpg~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Gaian Name:Seron-738 Character Name: Lucano ‘Luke’ Ethin & Seraj Age: 20 Class: Paladin (FE 7 Style) Inventory:Killing Edge, Spear, Brave Axe and Grooming Kit with assorted horse stuff! Bio/Personality: Lucano, ‘Luke’ to his family, is a mercenary for higher. His parents were great in their day teaching him many skills and tricks, learning all but bow and magic. However, they were killed during the beginning of the war. He and Seraj escaped and have been fighting in skirmishes and arenas to bring home the gold to keep his sister safe in Talis. He is protective and caring of his sister but distant and cold to everyone else. You upset Luciana and you’ll lose your head. The only other thing he cares about in his life is his mount Seraj, sister to Kadar. He worries a lot about Lu and knows nothing of her plans to find him. Appearance: http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x36/STARS-0823/Fire Emblem Recolours/Lucano.jpg~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Gaian Name: Shale Darksnow Character Name: Aiden Age: 20 Class: Fire Archsage Inventory: Nothing much Bio/Personality: Aiden is in touch with nature, a little too much, one may say. Being an Archsage, Aiden rarely uses a tome, mainly to "avoid destroying trees". But being close to nature does not always mean that you have to follow the rules. Aiden tends to break all the rules without caring, even if it means wounding or even killing others. Call him a glorified hippie if you want,. Appearance: http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x134/icaruszx/rpcf2.png ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Gaian Name: Dwonald Character Name: Julius Age: 18 Class: Myrmidon Inventory: Killing Edge, bandages, vulnerary. Bio/Personality: Julius is a shy, but friendly individual. He tends to have a slight social awkwardness to his behavior, but he's the kinda person that's hard not to like. He tends to be pretty sensitive to things and actually is not very fond of fighting, but this doesn't mean he's not willing to defend his friends and take jobs to earn money to get by on. During the war he was orphened, not due to the fighting, but due to sickness. His mother died, his father left the family at a younger age and hasn't been heard from since. Since then, he's been a wandering mercenary takign whatever job just to get by. Appearance: Julius has long brown hair that is tied into a ponytail and blue eyes. On his left cheek is a thin scar that runs across his face due to a training accident that happened in his youth. He usually tends to have a somewhat stressed look under his eyes, despite that, he is usually seen smiling. He wears a light leather armor and under that a grey shirt. With that is a pair of black pants and brown worn looking boots. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gaian Name: Leo Riser Character Name: Leo Stromzend (Never tells his last name) Age: 28 Class: Myrmidon Inventory: An Iron Blade, some vulneraries, and a small vial of elixir, with enough for perhaps two people in it, hidden in the hilt of his sword. Bio/Personality: Leo is a fun-loving man, always ready for a fun sparring match. He is often characterized as reckless in everything but a fight, where he appears so serious, often infuriating opponents with his calm demeanor. He grew up an orphan, living in the streets as a thief. Despite being caught in the act by an old swordmaster, the man was impressed with his speed and took him in to teach him the ways of the blade. Now, he's a wandering mercenary known only as Leo or his title, the Shishiku (Lion's Roar). Appearance: He wears a dark cloak over his vest. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Gaian Name: Dwonald Character Name: Tekun Age: ??? (appears to be about 30ish) Class: Trueblade Inventory: Wo Dao, Elixer Bio/Personality: He always remains cool calm and collective under any circumstances, trained to fight since day one. Always serious, rarely relieved and relaxed. Despite all this, he is kind and caring as well as protective and compassionate. He was born into an infamus clan that ran rampant and gained alot of power. But one day under the morning sun and mist, they were wiped out. Tekun, at the age of 12, was their only survivor. Due to this, he became among the most wanted in the land. Due to so many encounters on the battle field and surviving through near impossible encounters, he earned the nick name. "The Immortal Solider." His life from that point onwards consisted of trying to avenge his clan to avoiding bounty hunters. Twist after turn on this winding hopeless path would eventually lead him to find the truth behind what happened to his village and clan. After discovering this, he stopped with his vengenace and tried to live out the rest of his life, avoiding bounty hunters. At one point, he tried to start a family, he had a wife and young boy, but eventually had to flee to protect them. The full moon reflected in the calm waters off of the shores of Talis. It was a clear night, so the Docks were buzzing with activity. Two lone figures left the crowded, well lit pier, heading to the dimly lit beach, the waves lapping at their ankles. The woman was walking briskly, the man behind her was causing her to blush. "C'mon, Sarah! Why not?" "Because I said no, Blaine!" "Is it because of something i said? Is my manliness overwhelming? Are my roguish good looks too much for you, darling?" "Just go screw yourself sideways!" "Ouch. My, my. You've got quite a mouth!" As soon as Blaine finished his lunge for Sarah, there was a deep, rumbling growl coming from the small forest that bordered the shore, followed by several snarls, then an ear shattering howl. "Wh-what was that?" Sarah was visibly shaking in her skin. "I-i don't kno-" There was another growl, followed by a large thud and a crunch. Sarah's screams filled the night air...
Deryck groaned. His head was killing him, and the shouts weren't helping. "There's been another attack!" "Another murder!" "This one's been shredded!" From his spot in the tall, yellow grass, he knew what had taken place. He knew that there were two bodies, one male, the other female. He knew the cause of death. It was not murder, no, it was something far more grizzly. And it was all his fault...

Kira, or Kent as she was being called, was asleep. Not for very much longer, but there you have it. "Oi! Boy! Time for your share of the duties or I'll have ye keelhauled all the way teh Akaneia. I hear teh Empire lot're lookin' fer good slaves. Payin' big buckoes fer 'em too. Wouldn't want that fer yerself, would ye?" Kira was up in a flash, pulling on her long and dirty coat before stumbling towards the horses she was grooming, and cleaning, and everything else in exchange for her night's sleep and some food when she left. The very mention of being drug back to Akaneia was more than she could bear. She was running away, and that hurt enough without having the half-fear, half-longing rise up in her throat everytime someone mentioned her home. No, she had left. She had made it through Orleans and Khadien and she was leaving this filthy barn soon as she could to try and barter passage to Raman. Then she'd get as far as she could from any civilization and try and survive. It was the natiest plan Kira had ever been forced to come up with, but she as doing it. It was hermit-hood in Raman or death and she was taking hermit-hood.

Deryck's red hair, while only being kept in place by his bandanna, was ruffling in the high winds. The next full moon would take place in about a month, which would mean another set of murders. He needed to get as far away from the town as possible, having an injury wasn't the best thing for a pirate.
He had been hiking through tall yellow grass, heading uphill towards a small lake, one which would be scarce this time of year. True, it was summer and the heat was excruciating, but the population of the small island nation would crowd around the easy to reach beach, so the treacherous trail to the lake was empty.

Kira had a very weird relationship with horses since she'd started travelling. Running, that voice in her head whispered, as usual. She felt the sting and took a few deep breaths before going back to thinking about horses. On one hand, she liked them. They were steadfast and strong and if you treated them right, they never ran off. And they never attacked people for their own gain, and had never burned down a village in the entire history of their race. On the other hand, she really disliked that this was the only skill she could use. Working with horses all the time and never taking on, always having to deal with the creatures, then leaving on foot. But the people of Khadein were paranoid. She had tried stealing a horse once, and the second she'd even tried to tack it up, the owner had appeared behind her, whip in hand. She hadn't tried that again.

Deryck's grip on his scimitar as the voices grew closer. It sounded like three men, all had gruff voices, and all they talked about was a village or country, Deryck didn't care either way, on the mainland. "Didja hear? Akaneia fell." "Naw way! Akaneia had da best whore 'ouses!" "I know! Khadein is onna 'ampage! They might block off da rum ship'nts!" That last part sent a shiver down Deryck's spine. Without rum, the pirates would be easily goaded into attacking the massive empire, essentially committing suicide. It could be worse. They could find the Relic and immolate the world. He reassured himself, and headed off, back to the pier. The lake was out of the question now, along with the majority of the island, but there was still one place to hide. He would travel to Peraty, the smaller island just southwest of Talis. It was still relatively untouched by Khadein, and sparsely populated. The perfect place for a lycanthrope to hide.

HAHAHA!! I KNEW it!! And I knew what 'lycanthrope' meant... =D
Kira was stuck. She had finished with the horses and gotten her food, but there weren't any bosts that needed stable boys... Or anything else she knew how to be. She was stuck, for now.

((*High Fives*)) Deryck had gotten a boat and started sailing towards Peraty. By gotten, i mean stole, and by sailing, i mean floating. There were no prevailing winds, so he had to manually sail the boat, which consisted of using paddles that were the same length as the small, two seated boat. There was a bit of good news amongst the bad, he could see the island, and he was closing in slowly.
Unfortunately, night was also closing in, but the next full moon was a full month away, so the only things he had to worry about was pirates, and the occasional soldier that wandered too far from his/her camp.

I'll be off for the next 10 minutes or so trying to fix the wifi, but I'll be back soon(hopefull on MY computer), so don't rabbit off just yet...
Kira was feeling both insanelysmart and insanely stupid. She had traded her food for a boat. On one hand: boat. On the other: starvation. Well, not quite... She could always find her own food. She knew enough random knowledge that it probably wouldn't kill her.

Deryck's muscles were aching when he arrived at the small island. The yellowing grass made it seem more populated than it actually was. Deryck quickly tied off the boat on a thin tree, and began to hike to the center of the island. Ironically, he had only been lycanthropic for a little less than a week, and he held to the common belief that he would only change during a full moon. Well, what he doesn't know won't kill him, right?

Luciana was still on the island of Talis, untouched by the war occurring on the mainland and blissfully unknowing about it as well. Luciana was brushing Kadar and talking to herself. “Kadar, do you think there will be a letter from Luke this week? It’s been several weeks since I last heard from him. I was hoping he’d come visit, it’s been nearly three years now…” She laid her head against Seraj’s warm neck combing his mane with her fingers. “Sister Luciana, Luciana!” One of the sisters was walking briskly down the barn row, her shoes made a clicking sound on the flagstones.” “Yes Sister Clare?” Luciana’s head appeared from the stall door. “We saw a boat from the tower; would you ride down to the shore and see who it is?” Clare looked at Luciana hard, as if daring her to say no. “Of course Sister Clare, right away.” Luciana nodded and opened the stall door, fetching Seraj’s tack. “Better take a tome or two with you, just in case.”
Luciana nodded, as Seraj lowered his head for her to slip the bridle on. “You have him trained well, you’re the only Valkyrie in this monastery you know, and most of them are scared of horses or just like being non-mounted healers.” Luciana nodded again position the saddle pad on his back carefully. “I bet he’d do anything to save you, you guys have such a great- HEY!” Sister Clare jumped back, Seraj had stomped. Luciana only patted his neck and pulled the cinch tighter. “I don’t think he likes me very much…” Sister Clare stated as Seraj swished his tail at a passing fly, and Luciana was busy wrapping his lags to say anything. “You’re a healer; it’s a short ride, why are you doing that?” Clare asked as Luciana wrapped his back legs as well.
Luciana sighed as she motioned for Clare to get out of the way, “I don’t want to risk him getting hurt, better safe then him getting hurt and me having to heal him. Horses carry more weight on their bones especially the legs; sure I could heal him, but the stress fractures are then making it more likely for him to get hurt again. Up to the point where I can’t heal him anymore and I’d have to kill him.” They were now outside and Luciana swung up. “Wow you really thought about that didn’t you?” Sister Clare was always impressed when Luciana started about horses; in fact she was slightly jealous of her for having a mount. “Not really, it’s just common sense if you thought about it.” Luciana clicked and Seraj took off into a canter.
Luciana was grateful to be leaving Clare’s company, she was a nice person, but too talkative for her taste. Luciana enjoyed the silence of the woods around her and the clopping of Seraj’s hooves on the dirt path. On occasion she would shift her weight and the saddle might creak, or her fluttering cloak might snap in the breeze, but she did not speak. Finally arriving at the shore, she pulled back softly on Seraj and watched the boat. She was surprised to see what it was, a one person boat, totally not heading to Talis, but the smaller island nearby. “What you make of it Seraj?” Seraj only snorted and stomped. “It doesn’t look like Luke…” She patted Seraj to hide her sadness; she noticed his ears flicked back, he still cared. She watched the boat’s progress to the island and when it was moored she turned back to the monastery. “Someday…” She never bothered to finish the sentence, it would never happen, why pretend?

Deryck found the nice, large pond that he would frequent when he was younger. There were large, tall rocks that stretched out about three meters into the cool murky water. From the path he came, he couldn't see that there was already someone bathing in the pond; a man with dark streaks in his red hair.
Deryck quickly removed his shoes and stepped into the calm waters. Instead of the cool, welcoming waters that he would usually find, his feet were scalded by boiling hot water, which caused him to yelp with shock. He scurried out of the waters, and sat on the beach, trying to cool down his feet.
The man on the other side of the rocks heard the yelp, first thinking that it was an injured animal. He quickly swam to the shore, and ran around the rocks, not even stopping to don his clothes. When he saw it was just a man, he turned back, fuming. But he sensed something odd about him; something inside him wanted out. Something vicious. Forgetting the original plan of scorching the man for ruining his time, he got dressed and went to help. "Hey, are you okay?" He asked, buttoning his pants as he walked around the rocks.
Deryck was shocked to see another person at the secluded pond. "I'm fine, just burned my feet on something." He stood up, his feet still recovering from the initial shock. "Who're you?"
"I feel as though i should be asking you the same thing." The man replied, pulling on his dark red tunic. "My name is Aiden. What are you doing on my island?"
"You're island? This island belongs to no one!" Deryck eyed Aiden while he picked up his scimitar. "My name is Deryck. I came here because there has been attacks on Talis."
"Is it Khadein?"
"No, they're more animal. Like wolf attacks."
"There are no wolves on Talis. Come, we'll go investigate." Aiden watched Deryck's body language. He was telling the truth, but not the whole truth. There was something odd about him, and he would find out what.
"What makes you think i have a boat? Or why i'll help you?"
"If you didn't have a boat, then you wouldn't be here. And you'll help me because i can tell everyone your secret." It was a blind bluff, but it worked.

Kira decided she liked rowing. Sure, it was backbreaking work and it never to end, but you could SEE the movement, and you knew you were actually going through the water. And it was oddly relaxing. Weird but true.

"I still don't see why I have to row." Deryck grumbled, glaring at Aiden.
"Because it isn't my boat. And because it will calm you down." Aiden smirked, watching Deryck. "Tell me, how long?"
"What?"
"How long have you been suffering this... Condition." Aiden still didn't know exactly what Deryck was going through, so the best way to gain information was by asking questions.
"Four days ago i was bitten. I've been suffering nightly; headaches, nausea, and then it happens."
"What happens?" Aiden leaned forward, curious.
"The change." Deryck shifted his gaze to the water.
"The change?"
"Yes." He snapped, glaring at Aiden. "You ask alot of questions for someone who already knows what I'm going through." He was getting angrier by the moment.
"Never mind then."
