Well, the author's penname is Hari-Aisu. There's two stories of hers that I'm reading right now, and they're both really amazing! The first is called Discordant Harmony. Here's the summary: What happens when new artist, Yagami Raito, manages to capture the attention of socially inept, anonymous artist L Lawliet? Hilarity, of course. Matchmakers, troublesome sisters, and gay lawyers pretending to be drag queens? What is this world coming to?

The second story is called Life Imitating Art. The summary for this one: It's one thing to get to the top, it's another entirely in trying to stay there. If singer Yagami Raito can manage to stay alive through the fanatics, crazy homicidal maniacs and creepy detective stalkerness, he'll consider himself lucky. LxLight

And the last one, it belongs to another author. That author's penname is Bloodshot Eyes. And actually, you can find them on my friends list. Anyhoos, this other story I'm reading is called Unexpected. Summary: Sayu attempts to put her life back together and, in the process, finds that she'll have help, if only she'll take it from someone she once refused. Years pass, but will the secrets of the past stay buried forever? Post-series, canon.

All these stories are soooo amazing! Oh, and be sure to check out the authoress SekushiAi. She's got one story that's completely finished called Broken. Summary: Light was perfect. Everything about him was flawless. But one night and one man ruined it all...now he's broken.

Her other story that I'm completely in love with is called Awkward Encounters. Summary: So, sure, L loved the annoying, melodramatic ex-mass-murderer. That didn't make him any less irritating! Light x L, shounen-ai. Sequel to Falling for You, don't need to read it to understand the story line though.

I seriously hope you guys will check these authors and their stories out. I promise, they're somewhat humorful, somewhat angsty, and it's a good mix! X3 Let me know what you think of any of the stories, if you happen to read them, that is.

I'll have to read those!
I'm only in the process of writing a Matt/Mello fanfic. (I'm not too good though... grawr.)

Those sound good, I'll be sure to look 'em up!

Heh heh... I'm rooting for Michi with Unexpected. It is her less angsty story which is always a challenge for us angst writers!

--laughs softly-- I read part of Discordent Harmony and Life Imitating Art, but I didn't particularily like either of them... >___< I think I read more of Discordent Harmony though...

Broken now has a sequel. I haven't broken, but I kind of know where the sequel is going. It's going to be a dark ride.

I'm insanely picky about characterization and staying in character... I read stories... And I'm going to attempt, key word being attempt, to write one, but I'm sure I'll fail. Regardless, since you are promoting stories, I shall too!

First is 'Genius is a Curse' by Bloodshot Eyes. Summary: If Light had never touched the Death Note, would he ever have found an escape from the depression and boredom that plagued him? Would he have had a future at all?

Again, Bloodshot Eyes, who you can find on my friends list, with 'Fatal Attraction'. I'm writing a 'version' of this titled 'Ichor', but that is beside the point. This was inspired by a video on youtube done by XhadowKiss. Summary of 'Fatal Attraction': B teaches Light a few things about killing while Light wonders how something, and someone, so dangerous can be so tantalizing.

Bloodshot Eyes, again... As you can tell... I'm a faithful reader of hers. 'Collateral Damage' and 'It's Just a Game'. Collateral Damage is on hold, but summary: L's self-styled archenemy resurfaces and threatens L with more than the corpses of strangers and an impossible case; this time it's personal. Light discovers that Kira isn't nearly as god-like as he first imagined. And now 'It's Just A Game': It's 2016 & Light is bored to death. Ryuk offers him the Death Note, a program that lets him wreak havoc anonymously in a virtual world. L pursues this Kira, but when real people start dying, the line between fantasy and reality blurs beyond recognition.

And I'm going to try and not kill you guys with the Nilahxapiel stuff... She is an amazing authoress. You must, must read her. So I'll just list a few to give you a taste; there are so many.

I'll start with her baby, 'Reigning on Heaven'. A very, very beautiful work. Summary: Raito attends Whammy's after losing his family. Years later, Kira is added to the equation; will Raito fight a justice he secretly agrees with, or will he succumb to Kira's righteous enthrall, even if it means losing L too?

Now 'Of Physics and Chemistry': After a one night stand with a beautiful young man, L’s life is turned upside down, especially when he finds out said man is the son of his coworker.

'Captivation'... A dark fic. Amazing as always though. Beyond is interested in L. L is interested in Raito. Raito isn’t interested in anything…until he meets B. By the time he realizes he’d rather be bored, it’s too late.

'Angel Food Cake'. This is a sweet one-shot. Fallen angel Raito is just trying to get something to eat thanks to his newly found human food cravings. Unfortunately, he can’t remember what he likes. L tries to help out, but ends up doing more.

'Momento Mori': Raito is brutally assaulted and decides to end it all –and what better way then to admit he’s Kira and let his nemesis do it for him? Of course, things with L can never be so simple. Quite dark and it really makes you feel for the character - Raito. It's amazing how this is a story of interaction between pretty much two characters alone. Momento Mori also has a sequel now.

And the last one I'll do for Nilah, she has a lot, lot more, will be 'The Scream'.... I believe this is what got me into Nilah's writing. Amazing, long and satisfying one-shot. Kira had stolen everything from him; his life, his identity, his art… Hate consumed him, motivated him, drove him…and fear was his prison. But Raito is breaking free, and his rescuer is far from a knight in shining armor…

For Mikanis... I love Mikanis' stories. So much music.

An amazing, brilliant, first fanfic... I wish my first fic was this good, but alas... 'Violins, Light': L has a second addiction. Light has a plan that's going to get him killed. When everything falls apart, the road is set to take a different path. How far astray can these two go before something breaks? The sequel is amazing as well.

And the other I've read from Mikanis, 'Of Music': Light is at the theatre, escaping from his life as he does every performance. Fate hands him her calling card in the way of a stranger sitting across the room. Can Light maintain his life when this one man manages to slip into it like he belongs there?

I haven't read Crimson Decade before, but they all look very promising.

'The Prayer of Kira': What do Kira's followers chant? What do they whisper, what do they say as they pray? This is their prayer, their hope, words whispered fervently in a fruitless attempt to bring back their god.

And 'Naive': It's a naive boys dream, except it's painted in all the wrong colors because it's painted in blood red and the white of bleached bones. A drabble about Light and his dream...

And now Serria. Must not forget Serria.

A very beautiful, dark, fic that I love to pieces - 'Sola Fide': Naomi Misora gives L the lead he needs advance the Kira investigation with an arrested suspect and a possible conclusion. But in a world without eyes, he and Light Yagami are left guessing in a game that has no need for sanity.

And another, but not yaoi - 'The Golden Son, Light'. It's so sad and beautiful. It makes even Light haters at least pity him. Light was the perfect son in every way. But when his mother, Sachiko, realizes that he might be suffering from depression, she isn't sure what to do. She observes him during his high school years.

I'm not done yet... But I don't want to kill you all in one post. So happy reading!

I read Hari-Aisu's work, her work deserves a gold medal or a DVD of L and Light smexing.
MiaoShou does awesome as well. His stories involve Cruel and Unusual, Seduction, Night and Day and Birthday Bumps and there's Shizuka no Taisho[ for the person who wants a well-written smut. xp
I also write myself, but they're not good, but they're not bad either.
I'm Koneko Otome and I wrote, Strawberry Stains, Persephone and Claws and Kisses.
If you think I shamelessly advertising for my stories you are correct and deserve a cookie mrgreen
