Has anyone heard of Gene Kelly? well I did, for the ones who aren't familiar about him, he is seen in so many famous musicals back in the 1940s and 50s. Among them are An American Paris,On the Town,Singin' In The Rain, and so much more....

To me, Gene Kelly was a great singer and actor. I love his role in Singin' In The Rain as a famous celebrity, and the rain scene was fantastic! If you haven't seen it, well... you should!!!

The anniversary of his birth is August 23rd ( know because I share the day with him).
I love the movie On The Town.

He was an incredible dancer. He made it look so easy, and he had a good sense of humor and acting presence as well. A rare combination. I might check out some of his movies from the library now. ^_^
Not to hijack your thread but -- Why is it that actors established before the 1950s seem to run rings around the post-50s actors? There are many great actors of today - like Meryl Streep, and some other comedians - but back then, they just seem to have worked harder or had more expected of them. Which can't be right - the competition between actors is fiercer than ever. But now it is more notoriety than talent that seems to be the deciding factor.

Gene Kelly is the best. I'm only 18 but I have an old soul. The first Gene Kelly movie I ever watched was Pirate ( Make 'Em Laugh from Siging in the Rain was copied from Priates' Be a Clown) Now I sing and dance to his movies and many more with my niece and nephew xd

I've seen him in Singin' in the Rain, An American in Paris, On the Town, and The Three Musketeers. Singin' in the Rain is by far my favorite.
However, truth be told, I prefer Fred Astaire.
