El Fantasma De La Opera

As an employee at the theater that has been home to millions of shows and musicals, you live, eat, and breathe the stage. As the cast begins to prepare to perform The Phantom of the Opera, strange things begin to happen.

You know the legends. Of course, it’s a known fact that a girl died on the stage a long time ago. The thing that has a lot of variation as far as rumors go, is how.

The theory that seems to come up the most is a tragic one. Chanelle, a young and beautiful actress, played Christine in The Phantom of the Opera; a main part. Her lover, his name unknown, was her life. When he said jump, she jumped. When he said breathe, she breathed.

When he said die, she died.

The mysterious man who she loved so much was a jealous man. He could not bare the thought of her playing the part of two other men’s lovers. Therefore, he demanded that she give up the part, or leave his life. She chose the second option, but not in the way that he meant it.

As the song ‘Point of No Return’ was being preformed, Chanelle plunged a knife into her heart on stage in front of everyone. As taking her life was a sin, she was condemned to neither Heaven nor hell; but to walk the world forever. In that time, she realized what a mistake she made, and now takes out her fury on unsuspecting innocents.

Of course, these were merely ghost stories told around the campfire. Things meant to scare you out of sleeping at night. No one took it with a grain of salt.

Until now.

Chairs moving without being moved, broken glass flying around the room, and even a death. Things are beginning to seem more and more like there really is a Phantom of the Opera.

Skye made her way across the stage, taking the steps that a women would take as she made her way down the aisle to her future husband. This was not the first time she had done this, but she still found it necessary to help her in both getting in character and getting a feel for the stage she would perform at. Lately, cast members had been talking about a phantom who "haunted" the stage and all the performers. Skye wasn't sure whether or not to believe them.

You'll soon drip...

From the catwalk, Chanelle watched as the young actress walked across the stage.
'Such dignity,' she thought. 'I remember when I was just like her.'
She sat, invisible and silent, on the bar. She could hear the manager's Mustang pull up in the back of the theater. She smiled as she realized how expensive that car must have been.
'A little fun wouldn't hurt,' she thought. She began to float toward the back door and added the rest of the sentance out loud.
"Me."

Isabella tugged on a lock of hair, the way she always did when she was nervous. The more she thought about how many people would eventually be seeing her on stage, the worse her nerves became. She took a deep breath in an effort to calm herself. It's going to be fine, Isabella. You'll be fine.

Jin paced silently back and forth between the middle row of the seats for the audience. Occasionally, he would pause to lift his head and rest his eyes on the stage, drinking in the scenery. Just then, a girl had appeared on the stage. Skye, he remembered faintly and stopped dead in his tracks to watch the young actress. She was a very young, but talented girl, no less. He had seen her acting before and would always hear the director praising her with sweet words. Though, of course, he paid little to no attention to the girl. It was not that he was bitter or jealous of the girl's perfect portrayal of the character. No, it was quite different. Indifferent, to be exact.

His gray-green eyes ignored the girl walking across the stage and swept over the background and props placed on the proscenium. A feeling of pride began to well up in his heart as Jin observed each one carefully. His fingertips had turned red and was left raw from all the carpentry that his work required, but, nonetheless, he felt accomplished and satisfied with the result. Allowing a small smile to decorate his calm features, Jin left the empty, velvet seats chuckling softly to himself.

Watching from backstage Skye prepair for rehersal, Arenta took in her every movement. Skye had the best voice around and was so beautiful. Arenta looked down at her twig-like form and sighed in disguist. She did not know how to help it; her body was just naturally skinny. It really showed in this particular costume; a bikini-like top and a long skirt. Not only was in uncomfortable for dancing, it was uncomfortable in front of an audience.

'Don't kid yourself,' she thought. 'Nobody's going to be looking at you. And even if they do, it will be a quick glance; too short for judgment.'

Needless to say, the thought was hardly reassuring.

"Arenta, come down from that cloud and start stretching!" barked her teacher. The woman had practically adopted Arenta, so she respected Mrs. Jorn, even loved her. She was, however, very strict.

You'll soon drip...

Picking up a brick from the nearby construction zone where they were building a resteraunt, Chanelle hid it under her skirt. Immediately it disappeared from mortal view. She brought it over to the red car and took it back out.
"Whoops!" she said, throwing the brick through the passenger's window and watching it go through to the driver's window, leaving broken glass in its trail.
"Hope you have good insurance," she said as the back door to the theater opened to reveal the manager's horrified look.
'He looks as though he's seen a ghost and all that's happened is that a brick went through his car's window,' she noticed, floating over the screaming and swearing manager who looked about ready to pull out his own hair. 'Think of what would happened if you actually saw a ghost.'

Jet could hear the sound of the manager screaming and rolled his eyes. The man was mad; he got mad at everything and swore even more often than he got angry. With a sigh, Jet headed to the back door and took a peak at whatever it was that the manager was getting so worked up over.
"Holy-!" Jet said in shock. He had to keep down a laugh. "No way!"
The hole in both windows of an expensive mustang was something to yell about. Especially because the manager was too cheap to buy insurance that did anything but send you a 'Get Well Soon' card when you had cancer and a few dollars to covor break-ins.

Pushing open the exit door of the theater, Jin did not realize that a person was in front of him until he accidentally ran into him. Well...walked.

He yelped a strange noise and jumped slightly back, clutching the top of his skull in pain. Was he a bit melodramatic? Slightly.

Grumbling in annoyance, he looked up to see the back of Jet. Surprised to see him, Jin immediately stuttered, "Oh, hey Jet!"

He had never been in close terms with any of the actors or actresses before, but always waved or called out a polite greeting to them out of common courtesy. Jin wondered if Jet was about to get some coffee, too, like he was. That is, until he slammed into him.
PostPosted: Sun Jul 20, 2008 8:40 pm

When Jet turned around and saw Jin, he could no longer hold it in. He first chuckled, which turned into a real laugh when he turned around and saw how the manager's face was changing color.
"You think this is funny!?" the manager screamed, his head changing from dark pink to scarlet.
Jet nodded, still laughing hysterically.

Jin stared at his manager's face, spellbound and awed by the fact that a human's skin was able to change colors. Realizing how rude it must be, he shook his head and bowed apologetically, as was the custom in his country, to both Jet and the manger. He jumped when the manager screamed.

"Sorry for the trouble!" Jin stammered, afraid that the manager's anger management classes had done him no good and that he would hit the poor, clumsy boy. He looked up cautiously and peeked around Jet's broad shoulders, to inspect what had caused the man's fury. 'Ah....The manager's car's windows...Such a shame, it was a really nice car, too' he thought with a heavy sigh.

"Um..I could fix it for you, if you want, Manager," he suggested. He chose his words carefully, in fear that one mistake would lead to Jin's demise. "I was just on the way to the cafe to buy some coffee, I could stop by the hardware store," he added, having no idea where the hardware store was or what it sold. He was new to this part of the country and had only visited a relative few-the ones that were only a block away. Jin had a constant fear that he would lose his way-like a child without its mother. Of course, people always related him to a child because of his childish and impish personality.

{ which country are we in, anyway? :/ }
