What exactly is 'The Shi'? Is it supposed to be Mina? I'm confused. O.o''

Shi is supposedly Millennium's trump card. It's where everything begins and ends so to speak. I'm not to sure as to truly who or what it could possibly be, but it IS a vampire, or at least supernatural, since all the FREAKS in millennium are based off of it.
dumb idiot tid bit that everyone knows,
"shi" stands for "Death" in Japanese.

Well, The Shi is 'She'... the little theory that She is Mina Harker has always had too many holes for me... Yes, it's possible, but the idea... puts me off somewhat.
Anyway, I just hope they let her out soon. >.>

we've had many guesses: Mina, "Blood Countess" Carmilla, and some others, but who knows.

*raises hand*
Actually, Elisabeth Bathory was known as the blood countess... at least, I thought that was it...
Carmilla is just... Carmilla... I'm pretty sure that's right.... huh...

I'm kinda hoping it's Lilith, which is probably a bad idea since anything less is going to be a little disappointing. sweatdrop

Aeronn I'm kinda hoping it's Lilith, which is probably a bad idea since anything less is going to be a little disappointing. sweatdrop The idea of Lilith is rather appealing to me... but it seems almost too big to be true. I'm going to downsize, and hope for Bathory. xd I think she fits more with the Hellsing theme too, since we have Alucard, who is Dracula, who is Vlad Tepes... Vlad has quite the vamp rep. now thanks to Bram Stoker... and Elisabeth Bathory has quite the rep. too, simply because of what she did. Two infamous people, who may just be 'alive' in the Hellsing universe.... Of course, Lilith.... gaaah, that'd be scary and amazing. eek

All talk of Lilith brings Vampire: The Masquerade to my mind.
I only played that setting a couple of sessions, but I do wish they could have continued. I create the oddest vampire characters though. confused

You are right, she has a huge reputation and fan base so I wouldn’t be surprised since Hellsing is mainly made up of the most recognized parties and characters. Nearly everyone knows who Dracula and the Nazis are and I would say that many also know about Bathory. Also the story of Bathory is all about blood. How she bathed in it how she ‘might’ have drank it, so I’m thinking that she’s a perfect candidate to be ‘she’ since she has to be quite powerful by now. I don’t like the idea of ‘she’ being Mina just because I find it to be very predictable but I guess it all comes down to how the situation is developed. But on the second OVA Hellsing did tell Alucard that “she will never be like you” so I’m guessing he was referring to Mina right? So ‘she couldn’t be mina since she wasn't a vampire…right? I also think that it might be a thinner blood and not an elder vampire. Maybe a child of The Countess etc.

I'm hoping we never find out the "Shi" identity. It's not important to the plot to know who she is. She can't be Lilith or any important goddess figure because she's just some decrepit, incomplete and old corpse of a vampire Major stumbled with. She's not Millennium's ace of death either, she's Doc's incomplete research project. Carmilla and Bathory are more likely choices if anything else.

How she bathed in it how she ‘might’ have drank it, so I’m thinking that she’s a perfect candidate to be ‘she’ since she has to be quite powerful by now. Personally, I'd like it if it was Carmilla. Bram Stoker's main source of inspiration for his Dracula novel was the short story "Carmilla" by Joseph Sheridan Le Fanushort. Here's a blurb from Wiki: Quote: Although Carmilla is a lesser known and far shorter Gothic vampire story than the generally-considered master work of that genre, Dracula, the latter is heavily influenced by Le Fanu's short story. Harry Ludlam has said that Dracula is "the product of [Stoker's] own vivid imagination and imaginative research", but it is clear that Stoker was inspired by Carmilla. In the earliest manuscript of Dracula, dated 8 March 1890, the castle is set in Styria, although the setting was changed to Transylvania six days later. Stoker's posthumously published short story "Dracula's Guest", known as the deleted first chapter to Dracula, shows a more obvious and intact debt to "Carmilla", and the setting of Styria remains unchanged. Both stories are told in the first person. Dracula expands on the idea of a first person account by creating a series of journal entries and logs of different persons and creating a plausible background story for them having been compiled. Stoker also indulges the air of mystery further than Le Fanu by allowing the characters to solve the enigma of the vampire along with the reader. The descriptions of Carmilla and the character of Lucy in Dracula are similar, and have typified the now-stereotypical appearance of the waif-like victims and seducers in vampire stories as being tall, slender, languid, and with large eyes, full lips and soft voices. Both women also sleepwalk. Stoker's Dr. Abraham Van Helsing is a direct parallel to Le Fanu's Dr. Hesselius: both characters used to investigate and catalyse actions in opposition to the vampire, and symbolically represent knowledge of the unknown and stability of mind in the onslaught of chaos and death. (Baron Vordenburg also influenced Dracula's Lord Godalming.) Yes, I think Carmilla would be very appropriate to be "She" indeed. 3nodding

Technically, this is a repeat thread. The issue of who "She" or "THE SHI" (assuming that they are the same creature) really is has already been discussed in another thread. I have already spoken my opinions there, so I'm not going to repeat them here. I'm simply going to provide a link to the original thread.

But I don't see her as being in the Hellsing-verse. Of course, I didn't expect that...development with Major, either.
