The night was quiet, nothing seemed to be alive. Not even the trees had dared to move yet. Turquoise eyes drifted lazily up to the star speckled sky as he sighed. Rokku rolled onto his back, careful not to injure his wings. The moon was bright and full, shining down on the brightly patterned Tokoro. With a huff, he rolled back over, springing to his feet. He shook his wings free of dirt before padding toward a small berry bush. It was strange, the lack of wind and sound. Though, as usual, he didn't think much of it. The berries before him looked nice and ripe; he picked one, popped it into his mouth, and chewed. The small burst of sweet bitterness surprised him, but in a good way.

 Artemis was snoozing on a branch, further up in the trees, when a rustling noise woke her up. She'd always been a light sleeper. Her eyes blinked open and she adjusted herself on the branch and glanced around. She didn't really see anything, then again she was half asleep.
She was just about to close her eyes again when she heard the noise again, but this time she also spotted someone else. Naturally, this shook her right awake. She'd never miss her chance to make a new friend! With a quick glance at the starry sky she hopped out of her tree and shook herself awake again.
"Beautiful night isn't it?" She asked, trotting up to the male like they'd been friends forever.

"Huh?" Rokku turned, his wings fluttering as he did. That is, until his eyes landed on a blue and white patterned female. "Uh. Yeah, it is," he said, sitting back on his haunches to study her. She was beautiful, but not his type. He liked females of the winged variety. Ya'know, so they could fly with him. He'd feel just awful if his lover couldn't fly with him. He shot her a winning smile before plucking a berry off of the bush behind him and offering it to her. "Care for some? They're really good," he grinned, trying to be as friendly as possible.

Artemis had to hold back a laugh to his lil 'huh'. Of course, she should have been used to this reaction by now, she got it a lot! Not that it was a bad thing, or maybe it was? She kept babbling in her head until the male offered her a fruit. A bright smile flashed across her face and she nodded her head.
"I'd love one! I guess it's really rude of me to pop up and not introduce myself, but you seemed to into the sky and I was slightly distracted!" She said, once again forgetting to mention her named as she popped the offered berry into her mouth. That was definitely familiar! Why was it every time she ran into Male they offered her a fruit? She rolled her eyes at the silly memory of the first time she had met Maji.
"SO SORRY!" She said, shaking her head and then showing off a smile again. "I was just thinking of a friend! Do you like making friends? Because, you know I've come to realize that sharing berries or fruit is a really good way to make friends! Or, looking at the clouds in the sky! That works too!" Once again, she lost track of actually mentioning her name, but that was what Artemis was known for best. Finally it clicked.
"I don't know your name yet! Mine's Artemis and it's really wonderful to meet you!" She said, nodding her head and then glancing back up at the starry sky.

"Uh... Yes?" Rokku answered, unsure of what to say. He was very taken aback by how talkative friendly this girl was. He smiled at her, bowing his head politely, "My name's Rokku. It's nice to meet you too." He watched as she looked back up at the sky. Turning his face upward, he admired the little white flecks in the sky known as stars. He grinned, "Pretty, huh? I like the night. It's soothing." That was the most he'd said in a while. Or at least, the most he'd said since he'd met Hishou. It was strange how people could wiggle their way into other's hearts without them knowing it.

Artemis kept up her bright smile, which seemed to glow more when he mentioned he liked making friends. "That's a nifty name!" She said, nodding her head. She turned her attention to the stars again with a delightful sigh. "They really are beautiful! I love when it's dark enough outside, and the clouds are gone. It's make everything so clear and the moon's even pretty tonight!" She said, pointing toward the moon. It was a nice crescent shape tonight and it really was beautiful.
