Once upon a time, as all good stories begin, there was a queen. She was beautiful and beloved by all her people for her fairness. She believed in justice and civil rights for all. But she had enemies, as all monarchs have, who wished for her power. Among these enemies was a man, Frederick, was gaining power in the east. One day he attacked her kingdom. She held him off for the first few attacks but she saw that his strength was too much. So she sent her best spies and mages out to the east to destroy the source of his strenth, the Emerald of the Gods. This emerald could magnify the power of any ruler, but monarchs alone could weild it. With this emerald the queen would be able to defeat Frederick's forces.

Since sending out the spies and mages the queen's rule has been weakening. People have been rebelling due to the lack of food and money because of the war. Her kingdom is crumbling from the inside and outside and she needs the emerald before Frederick can finally take hold.

The land it trecherous, Frederick employs mercenaries, ogres, vampires, zombies and many an assasin. Some how news traveled to him of these travelers and he will stop at nothing to destroy them.
