Gambino stood outside the Barton Town arena. There was a new banner, but it was currently covered by a white cloth, and the gates were closed. Thousands of Gaians in front of him. He spoke.
"Bwahahaha! Ladies and Gentlemen of Gaia... for years we have been tormented and rescued by villains and heroes. All of them with superpowers. But why would we need heroes if we didn't have villains? The police can handle the rest of the crooks. So I said... why keep putting up with this? Why don't we put these superpowered people to some use? And that is why I announce to you..."
He ripped off the white cloth, revealing a picture of Jack, wearing Roman armor of some sort and holding a flaming pumpkin in his hand. There is a giant Cerberus in front of him, and he's about to throw the pumpkin at it. There is another picture on the same banner of a caped hero uppercutting General, blood coming from his eye. This caped hero was new to Gaia, but he's made an impression on Gaia for the few months he's been around.
But anyway, there were golden letters on the top of this banner, which Gambino read aloud.
"THE GLADIATORS OF GAIA!"
The Gaians cheered.
"Heroes on one side, villains on the other! Sometimes they'll duke it out, but sometimes they'll fight various beasts from all over. Sometimes they'll even have to team up! Besides, I won't make a profit if they all kill each other right away!"
The Gaians laughed, too excited to notice that this was just another one of Gambino's scams so he doesn't go bankrupt.
Finally, the Gaians began to flood into the arena, filling up the seats quickly.
On one end of the arena, there were the Villain barracks. On the other end, the Hero barracks.
No villains can escape. No heroes can escape. An unknown force keeps everyone there, and anyone who attempts to escape or act out regrets it.
In the barracks, there are beds, weapons, and training targets (much like arena in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, if anyone's played it.)
On one of the walls in the barracks, there are a bunch of doors.
Arena: A large door in the middle. Expanded Armory: There is a weapon for everyone in here. Cafeteria: It is dark and underground. There's a buffet, bar, tables, and even a stage where there is sometimes live entertainment. Bedrooms: There is a bedroom for everyone, which they get when they have proven themselves in battle.
More may be added later.
No aggressive magic is allowed while not in battle.

Jack stood next to the weapons rack. He had already chosen his armor and now needed a weapon. His chest armor was a black curias, or Muscle armor, modeled after a muscled form of the human anatomy. This left his arms bare, except for his gloves and black bracers on his forearms, that extended up to the elbow and flowed back to a point behind it. He wore a long shirt that was blood red, and unless you knew it was a shirt, it would look like a red skirt from below his armor, as few of the cloth covered his uper arms, but the shirt extended to nearly his knees. He wore a black leather roman style belt, with leather strips hanging off of it. On his calves were black full greaves, that also flowed to a point infront of his knee, like the bracers, so that if he kneeled his knees would be protected. His footwear were black caligae, or roman military sandals with iron hobnails in the soles, serving three purposes, to provide better traction, to reinforce the sole, and to provide a weapon, should Jack ever need to kick someone. On his head he wore a type of circlet which came to a point between his eyes, but swooped up and wrapped around his head, and it was black with red patterns of two dragons that snaked their way around it and met facing eachother between his eyes, breathing fire at one another. In battle, however, he would alter the form of his head and wear a black Corinthian helmet with a red horeshair plume. The helmet would leave only the fires of his eyes and a very small section of his mouth open, and it would shadow his entire face, meaning the only things you could see were his flaming eyes, or if he was currently mad enough to spit fire, his mouth. Finally, he wore a blood red cape that was attached to the shoulders of his armor. Also attached was a black chain to the cape on his shoulders, that came around infront of his kneck and rested just above his chest. Holding the chain together was a clasp shaped like a pumpkin with a grin on it. He looked at the weapon rack, searching through the weapons to find a suitable one. None of them were what he was looking for. Finally, at the end of the rack he found it, a sheathed short sword, a gladius. It was encased in a black sheath. He quickly reached for it, pulling the sword out of its sheath. It was a brilliant silver color, with a slight hint of a blue tint. For a second Jack was reminded of fantasy stories of the metal mythril, which was said to be stronger than steel. He placed the gladius on his right hip. The reason he did so was because that was going to be his secondary weapon, and he needed to reach for it with his left hand. His primary weapon he already had, and that was his flaming sword, which came out of his palm.
Jack turned around, looking at the rest of the barracks and sighed. While he didn't much like the idea of being a slave to Gambino, nor did he like the idea of fighting on command, he did like the idea of this arena. He always did love ancient stories of gladiators. Besides, the winner was always a celebrity. All he had to do was not loose. This would prove most exciting to a somewhat boring day. He wasn't doing much else before he woke up here, having no memory of how he was captured, nor what kept him here. Sure, he wanted his freedom like everyone else, but he decided before he got that freedom he was going to play along. They HAD provided all this weaponry so generously after all. "Vae Victus."(Woe to the vanquished/Conquered. Ill place translations after I say the phrases, since I plan to use a lot of greek and roman phrases in this RP.) Jack whispered with a smile, altering the form of his head and placing his helmet on. He quickly pulled his sword out with his left hand and ignited his flaming sword with his right. He tested the new sword's weight out, spinning it around his wrist a few times. Finally, he walked up to the training dummies, choosing one to test his new weapon on. He tried a few combos with his swords, and finally found he was comfortable using both of them. However, he didn't have much defense agianst incoming attacks. He needed a shield. He walked back over to the weapon rack, looking at the shields. He finally found one that went perfect with his armor. It was a black shield put in the shape of a circle. It was three feet wide and had a red Omega symbol painted on it, symbolizing that the wearer of this shield would be the last. Whether that ment the last to wear it, or the last to remain alive, he didn't care. Either one was good to him, it was his shield now. He secured it tightly against his arm, so that it would only move when he moved. This left his left hand free, so that he could still hold his sword, but procted himself at the same time. "There, I'd say this Jack makes quite the warrior, no?" He said to himself mostly, but also to the rest of the villains in the barracks.

He nodded at Jack, but he walked over to one of the toilets and began puking out grape juice.
General remembered how he was caught. It was humiliating. A bunch of cloaked figures used all of his weaknesses on him. They blasted giggling noises of children and trapped him in a tank of grape juice. When he woke up, he was force fed grape juice just to knock him out again.
When he was done, he flushed, and struggled to stand. He wore the same exact clothes he always wore. He'd probably choose a weapon right before his first battle. He also found the banner to be rather humiliating. He slowly walked over to a bed, turned around, and collapsed on it.
"That ******** hero... got the best of me during that robbery. I swear on the souls of my parents and Jhonny, I'm going to kill that man."

The heroes and villains then heard a voice that was not Gambino. It was a relaxed and welcoming male voice.
"Hello there, my dearest heroes and villains. You may call me The Announcer. You can't see me, but I can see all of you. Now please, try not to think of yourselves as slaves, not even entertainers, but true gladiators. Jack looks like he has the right idea.
The first battles will be fought by Jack and General. Think back to the banner that you all saw upon entering. That should give you an idea as to how the first battles will occur."
Meanwhile, in the arena. Gambino was still speaking.
"Gaians, I know you love me, but I'm afraid I must forward this event over to The Announcer.
An "Awww" came from the audience. It was hushed however by The Announcer's voice, which echoed throughout the stadium.
"Now now, my beloved guests. It is I, The Announcer. I have existed in Gaia for centuries. I would like everyone to give a round of applause for Gambino. If it were not for his funds, then this wonderful place would still be used to fashion shows and house contests. The first battle will be starting shortly."

"Hnn...Its time to give the fans what they want. Audaces fortuna iuvat.(Fortune favors the brave) Audentes fortuna juvat.(Fortune favors the bold) Luckily I have both." Jack said, spinning his sword one more time before sheathing it. "Let the games begin." He whispered, waiting for his turn to be called.

The Announcer's voice was heard in the villain barracks, though it wasn't loud, as it was spoken in a normal tone to Jack.
"I've seen you as a gift-giver. I've seen you as a tyrant. But it's been a while since I've seen you as a true warrior. I'm sure you won't disappoint."
(To make things easier, I'm going to put a series of doors in both barracks. Each of them have a bunch of doors leading somewhere.)
"I trust you know what you are fighting. I'm sure you've been ready all your life. But don't worry, this is merely the beginning. Remember, it's good to keep the crowd entertained. Suspense is also good."
The Announcer then spoke to all the villains and heroes.
"I will explain the doors later on. Right now, everyone put your hands together for Jack, who is fighting a rather fearsome and hungry Cerberus. While it may not be the original that guards the gates of Hell, it'll make for a wonderful show."
The arena door opened for Jack. It would only let him through.

Jack smiled and muttered under his breath so that only if you listened you would hear. "Cave canem"(beware the dog) Then he stepped forward through the door. As he stepped through into the arena he blinked only once, allowing his eyes to adjust to the bright light. Jack raised his arm in a traditional roman salute. "Ave Gambino! Morituri te salutamus!"(Hail Gambino. We who are about to die greet you/salute you) Now of course Jack had no intention of dieing, but he felt he had to keep with tradition. There was always a chance he could die, after all, and what kind of gladiator would he be if he didn't salute first.

A large gate appeared with flames behind it. Out walked a giant, black Cerberus. Three mages were floating above it, casting a blue aura around it, causing it to walk casually.
The announcer spoke again.
"And now, my friends... the moment you've all been waiting for. To celebrate the beginning of many battles...
JACK VERSUS THE CERBERUS!"
The mages vanished in bursts of fire, and the three-headed-dog began to roar like crazy at Jack. It lifted its right paw and struck it down at Jack.

Sadly, the flaming pumpkin had no effect on the beast. It seemed as if the banner was a bit misleading.

Hawk was livid. The fact that she had awoken in a strange barracks, with a mix of villains and a strange hero, without knowing what was going on, ticked her off. That and her head was aching. She paced out of the bunker uneasily, shadows lashing around her body irritably, as she paused to watch Jack's battle.
She was near Phantom, but hadn't noticed the man. The woman wore a tooled suit of leather and cloth, metal fibres were woven into the fabric, and she had a long leather coat with a few twisting Celtic designs and a soaring hawk. Gloves covered her hands, with the same metallic fibres, and the colours she wore were black and silver blue.
