I've read a few mangas..
most of 'em are supposed to be read for older ages...

but I was wondering if anyone can give me a few manga recommendations if you can?

What kind of topics do you like? Action, comedy, romance, mech? Here's a few for starters if ya haven't read them before:
Action-Black Cat, Fairy Tail (also comedy), One Piece, Bleach, Fullmetal Alchemist, Angelic Layer, Elemental Gelade, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha
Comedy-Galaxy Angel (outer-space futuristic type one), Ouran HS Host Club (more of romantic comedy), Gintama, Lucky Star
Mech-Code Geass, Gurren Lagann (also comedy), Ghost in the Shell, Gundam

i like death note, because it's original and dark. also it seems to be more intelligent and deep than your avg manga, even for the older teens
for mixed genre i like naruto, especially the characters
i also like black cat, bleach, air gear and ouran high school host club
