Please check in here when you join. Tell us as much about yourself in relation to Cancer as you want. There needs to be some connection, even if it's only a desire to learn about it. Only one post in this thread is necessary or allowed.
After checking in, you are free to join any thread or start your own topic.
Let's make this guild a helpful one for all of us!
PLEASE SAY HI TO der kuchen, who just joined. Bile duct cancer... should be interesting to learn about, and best of luck der kuchen! And Akiranth with ovarian at an incredibly young age, and then had a baby 7 months ago.

HI! I serve as the guild mule, if one is ever needed. I am also Vice Captain, so be good! ^__^
And... I guess you can probably tell whose mule I am other than the guild's.

Hi, I'm Jessica. I'm a 21 year old Canadian. I joined to keep up with Stang's progress. I've known her for many years and I want to be updated on her treatments and when time comes, her healing. Also, to know more about this if anyone else I know ever develops breast cancer.
I'm here for you, Stang. <333

I loves you all, for joining in here and for the good wishes. Makes me feel warm and hopeful.
I put a pretty song in my profile... the first one, in the middle near the top. I sing it to myself sometimes cause it makes me feel good. If you need some "feel good" go listen to it. heart

I am 25 years old. I may or may not have cancer. I am going for a biopsy within the next couple of weeks.
I'll probably make a thread explaining what I have been through so far with testing and whatnot, but it might not be for another day or two.

I'm Robynn. A little over 18 years ago, my great aunt died of lung cancer (10 years after she quit smoking). My youngest is named after her. My father's had many melanoma's removed from various body parts...so many that he's just quit telling us he's got cancer again. I had a "cyst" removed from the top of my head back in May, that'd been there for almost 8 years. It came back from biopsy Basal Cell. So far so good with the check ups. We're waiting to see if it went into my skull or just stayed put. I've only seen my PCP, so I don't know if there's anything else we can really do, other than remove some skull for biopsy, to see if it was just the tumor and it's gone, or if it did affect the bone. I'll be pretty paranoid until I find out for sure, one way or the other. Friends think I'm being over reactive, but it's the big C word, even though it's "just" Basal cell. I'm still not sure how to feel. I'm the youngest in my family to be diagnosed, at age 40. My dad didn't have his first tumor removed until his mid 50's from what I understand. That's my story.

Hi, Call me Daema. I know Stang from the horsie guilds and was concerned when I looked her up and read the blog. My dad died of lung cancer 2 years ago and I had basal cell skin shoulder on my shoulder 10ish years ago. It is fine now, but the fear that raced thru me when I heard the "C" word is still me. I go every year (mostly) now for full body checks. I have had several "pre-cancerous" moles/growths removed since the cancer. Yippee. My 67 year old mother is currently living with me because she sort of went off the deep end when my dad died and drank herself into hospital and a long drawn out recovery. She is 6 months sober and we are working on getting her healthy. Her memory is not so hot for the last several years and her new memories are sporadic, but improving. Well - gotta go do yoga on my daughter's wii fit.

I'm skaterger, but you can call me Sammy. My friend has the same cancer as Walter Payton had, and was diagnosed in June. They predicted she had about two years. She went to chemo every two weeks and had to do at home chemo as well. Things got a little better, the cancer stopped spreading. Just around Christmas she took a turn for the worst. She would turn from freezing, to sweating. She never stopped shaking. Just last week she had to go to the hospital because she couldn't eat or drink anything, she just threw it up. Finally she was home but no one knew how much she's changed. They brought a hospital bed to put in the study. Seeing the bed made it offical. She was dying. She could never go to chemo, never get better. The most they can do is make her comfortable. She can't talk, she's on too much medication. The nurse is coming today to take it off so she can finally see visitors. It's tough right now.
Thank you for all the pm's you guys have gave me, you've helped me so much

It's frightening to have all of those symptoms and to know there is nothing more to be done. I am sure she appreciates any visits she gets from her friends. Dying is hard, but harder if no friends are there for you. You help her through the passage from life to the other world, I'm sure. I hope that when your time comes, the two of you meet and are happy. heart heart heart

Haven't been here for a while....lots been happening I guess. Well I'm skaterger but I changed my name. My friend died about two weeks ago and it's been very hard. She went with no pain which I am thankful for. Her service was hard, but it was good to see all the pictures of her and her family. Thank you for all the support you have given me.

Very sorry for your loss. Nothing we can say can make it any easier. But I hope you can take solace in knowing she's no longer suffering. *hugs*
