Hello troops!

So I'm here to propose an idea that might help to organize our numbers and help sort out who is MIA for a specific reason and who is AWOL (holy crap, I'm sorry I'll explain all of this military jargon, I promise! Be patient with me....)

In the military, when members need to be away from their home base they file what's called either a 'leave pass' or a 'TD (Temporary Duty) request'. Leave is essentially taking time a set amount of time off for whatever reason and TD usually means that being sent to another location to perform a particular tasking.

Because of 1) the military culture of Keroro Gunso and, 2) because it can get annoying/sad when guild members seem to drop off into oblivion, I thought it might be handy to use this thread as a way of letting the rest of the guild know if we are to expect a drop off in activity from you.

If you all like the idea (especially you crew memebers - Tonsei, feel free to veto this if you want), it could work as follows:

Leave a reply in this thread stating that you are submitting one of the following passes -

LEAVE - If you're going to be gone for a set and specific amount of time (example: you're going on a two week vacation and won't have access to the interweb until you get back)

TD - If for any reason you know that your regular guild activity level is going to decrease (example: you're trying to focus harder on school and so you don't get online as much as you did before)

Remember, you're not asking for permission - you're just letting everyone else know that you're going to be away/less active but that you aren't LEAVING the guild (this should hopefully help out the crew too should there ever be a need to cut dead members).


And for the record (as I'm sure someone might be curious) when you choose to leave the military it's called being 'released' (unless of course they make you leave, in which case it's called 'discharged' and is considered honourable or dishonourable depending on the circumstances). If you want to actually make the choice to leave the guild and want to announce your release, feel free to do it here too (but hopefully that won't be the case!!)

[EDIT: Ha ha, oh man I'm such a tool. Where I had previously written "tour of duty" it was supposed to say "temporary duty". I was obviously distracted when I wrote this, thinking of someone who was just deployed to Afghanistan on a tour of duty - the two are different! Still, the definition I provided above is correct. Sorry about the mix up!]

TD - I've been extremely busy and barely have any time to check up on the guild. I do check up every once in awhile at least 5 times a week [to keep my inbox from overflowing] but I won't post as often so I'll leave it up to the crew members to make sure everything is in order.

When we get that dang military subforum up, I'll be sure to put this in there. xD

I didn't know my perception of time was that off... xD; (I'd looked at it sometime earlier, I guess it was during one of those little moments I got on the computer while settling in.)


Allright! Good to hear. >:3 I really want to get something ANYTHING up for that section, so I'll probably get something going before next week even if its all wonky.
