Hahah!
Ah, my first experiance? Hmmmnn....
Well, it's a long story. A friend was telling me about Silent Hill at a Cash Converters, because she grabbed it from the pile of PSx games, so my mom figured that she'd buy it. My brother, being the game master he is, played for a little while, and I was shivering. Of course, we used a walkthrough and said, "Hey, there's a Silent Hill 2 and 3....but 3 just came out. It'll be expensive." so we bought two. I couldn't breath through the prison part. 3 wasn't as bad when we got it.
Since then, I've become addicted to Survival Horror.
From Silent Hill I heard about Fatal Frame and almost nothing but good things. Watched my brother beat it as I put up a valiant struggle to get through the second chapter. Never happened.
Then I heard about Clock Tower and how it was such a great game. I found a ROM, never beat it, save for the H ending, and I loved it.
I recently got Clock Tower 3 and it made me jump alot. Jump and scream.
Now I'm going to try to get the RE series, along with Clock Tower: The First Fear and Clock Tower II for the PSx. Not to mention that I would mind getting The Suffering.
Whole history of my survival horror addiction.

Oh lordy....I was about 11 or 12....I went to some random game shop near my home. I don't remember why, but I asked to try out RE 2. I had just gotten a Playstation so I guess I was just scoping out random games to get. Saw the long and epic opening....and then got my a** chewed by zombies because I had no clue how to walk, run, or aim my gun and shoot. Seeing the gameover screen while being chewed on by zombies was actually pretty awesome and I wish the current Resident Evils would do that again (show yourself being chewed on by whatever killed you). After a couple more tries, I got it and actually started doing pretty good.....and crapped myself when I first saw the gunshop guy get attacked by zombies. Man, I yelped out real loud right there in the store! sweatdrop

Nicholaus's first survival horror was RE2 Platinum (didn't have a PS1, yet). S'pose he was about 11 at the time. Opa was takin' him and his brother to Fry's (a big ol' electronics store in Sacramento, California) for some gifts. Christmas or birthday? Ehhh, Christmas. It was Koku's idea to pick the game up. At first, Nicholaus was opposed, being somewhat of a sequel nazi. sweatdrop In the end, it became one of the best gaming experiences Nicholaus ever had.

There are Fry's around here too. Any store that has a nice tower with Doom 3 and with the volume cranked to the max for everyone to hear is my kinda store.

Haha, hi everyone! Thanks for invitin' meh, Kenny. biggrin
But hm...My first horror game...Probably just like last august! whee
Me, Peppy, Riley and Mary were all over at my house playing SH3 and SH4...My god, we were scared half to death! Mainly because we were playing at two in the morning, high on chocolate, and overly giggly and jumpy at anything.
We actually got on Gaia to ask about SH in the SH thread! And that's how we met all of you guys! Billy was the one that helped us through SH4... 3nodding

Does Parasite Eve count as a survival horror game. I think it does. It was a good game. I played that when I was about 10 years old. I remember a Silent Hill video on the old PS demos. I loved the music on it and I wanted to play the game, but I never got a chance to until my brother got a PS2 and we rented Silent Hill 2. I think that was when I was 13 or so.

Depends on which Parasite Eve. The first one is kind of a weird action/rpg hybrid type thing. Part II was definitely a survival horror.
