I witnessed the battles.
Years upon years upon years ago,
I watched you change to something
false.

The world opened up and swallowed you whole.

A battle revived tore us apart.

We took each blow, each strike, and attack;

I found my voice though I lost the way.

I lost the fight, sounded the retreat.

I changed ways.
