In light of the current discussion in the sticky I felt it a good idea to make a thread talking about which you like better and why.

Marvel, aside from Batman and some of the graphic novels that DC has published (V for Vendetta for example), they really don't have much of interest to that universe. Marvel is full of interesting characters that seem to be more complex, the world itself is a much more interesting place as the people with super powers don't seem to be generally accepted where the DC heroes are.

I'll take the Hulk, Captain America, Wolverine, and their associated worlds over that of DC any day of the week,

Lets talk about the big hitters.

Superman: Lame, and ugh.
Aquaman: FISHIES
Green Latern: I'll give him props he's cool
Flash: I CAN RUN FAST
Robin: Ew, sidekicks FTL.
Batgirl: *Yawn*
Nighwing: Cool..but still not Batman
Batman: The s**t
Green Arrow: Shooting Arrows? The ********?
Wonder Women: Props to her
Two-Face: I have two personalities hurray.
Penguin: He's all right but he isn't...Villain material.
Scarecrow: Bag over face doesn't equal scary
Joker: Mad props.
Freeze: I like him but he's kind of lame.
Scarface: Cool guy but a puppet.
Brainac: He's the only good Superman Villain.
Lex: Dear god no.

Lets see the other side.

Spider-Man: A superhero who actually is Human
Iron Man: Gadgets
Capt America: You can't seriously be mad at him
X-Men: Actually talks about issues.
Dare Devil: Blind Superhero FTW.
Red Skull: /thread.

You see...Marvel more...humanized than DC. DC kind of goes like "Real" to "Unreal".

DC decided to build in their own Achilles heel. Notice that Superman is the strongEST and flash is the fastEST. The problem is that DC gets stuck on having the most powerful and fantastic superheroes ever. Spider-Man is a good flagship for Marvel because represents the human aspect of Marvel heroes very well. People care about the real person, not just the hero, and the conflicts often result from within. This is the same reason why Batman seems to be the most popular of all DC heroes.

That because mostly of your "OMFG1111 NOT HUMAN1111" issue.

You pretty much said what I did...but since I can reference movies, let's go for motivation, which makes the stories richer (even if I'm referring to movies).

Spider-Man: he let his uncle die because he forgot the "with great power..." thing.
Iron Man: his weapons are what were killing people, and he wanted to stop that.
X-Men: Fighting against their own annihilation.
Daredevil: father killed, fighting (violently) against evil, has inner conflict about how killing might make him a bad guy.

While some of the situations are extraordinary, they're still very much conflicts that real people might have to deal with to a certain degree.

@Everyone particularly Xera: DC characters deal with real human issues if any of actually read any of the comics which I doubt you do.

@Xera: I can name many DC Superheros that are actually human and tackle human issues. Don't be an a**.

Oh. xD

Scarecrow is a great villain... but Batman Begins/TDK just don't do him justice.

I prefer Marvel's stories, they're heros, and even their villians. Most of DC's comics and stroylines make me roll my eyes and want to burn every last DC isssue I can find.

The ONLY comic DC has EVER done right is Batman.

Oh yeah, and DC buys comics and storylines and all that AFTER said comic has been established and gained popularity. Example: Heros & Watchmen (or whatever that one's called). Marvel comes up with their own stuff.

EDIT: And another thing! Aquaman?! Seriously?! FAIL.

Oh yes Superman comes back randomly with a kid. And it doesn't stick with the comics since the First three Superman Movies in the 70s.

I mean seriously beyond Batman and probably the Justice League (Seriously they are better than the Avengers) have some human qualities everyone else there is no human quality about them.

I don't find Scarecrow scary, I just find him creepy.

And no I don't read the comics, I'm going off the old Cartoon Shows of the Mid-90s.
