As dusk descended upon the Grove, the sound of large feathery wings could be heard, heralding the arrival of one of the Mountain's Chosen. Dismounting and signaling his bond to make lazy circles high above, Savith sent down into the trees while he hovered just above the top of the canopy. **Greetings from the Mountain, Wolfriders. I have been Sent to winter within your holt, assist in hunts, that I might take back pelts and other storeable forest items that are being requested by the Mountain.** And there he waited for the formal reply. He'd already come by already earlier that autumn to inform the chief of his arrival that winter. His send, as formal as it was, carried a note of wishing he were somewhere else.

Starsong sat in the tallest tree, aiming a shot at the circling bird. "bam" she thought in her head, "got you birdie" she grinned a little at her horrible humor and put her bow down. ** Welcome chosen from the blue mountain, you are safe within these trees, come and we will show you our guest dens so that you may settle in** She sent dryly, and without much enthusiasm. She wasn't looking forward to hosting gliders again, but they usually came every year, snubbing thier noses at the wolfriders, thinking they were superior, eating their food, taking their pelts then going home with nary a thanks, the whole time grumbling about how barbaric and dirty their whole ordeal had been. She sent privately to the chief, Hummingbird and sent for her son Eclipse to tend to the Glider's needs, mostly just to get him out of her hair with a task. She descended the treetops and made for the gathering that was there to welcome the glider.

Savith whistled up to his mount to Go Home-Nest. The aerie workers know to send the bird back to him when spring breaks. Descending slowly, Savith replied, **My thanks. I hope, perhaps, there is a taller den available than there was last time?**
OOC: Want me to pose Hummer too, since she was my alt?

She sat in the shadows and watched the glider approach. Eclipse however, was in the clearing, hoping from foot to foot excitedly, his dark black hair and violet eyes bobbing up and down amidst the others to try and get a better look. He was all of 12 turns old, and very different from his mother. Starsong waited to see what Hummingbird would say, and do before going back up to her lookout. She wanted as little contact with this glider, as possible. OOC: I figured you would, lol since she was your character. Hence I'm doing the same with Eclipse, since he was mine.

Hummingbird's reaction was typical for a 20 turn old cubling of a chieftain, give that she refused to act or acknowledge she even was chieftess. **A glider! Oh boyohboyohboy! Can he sleep in my den!? Think he'll fly me? oh, wait! I know, let'sallgoforridesonhisbirdandseetheholtfromwayuphigh cuzit'sreallyfuntoseeeverythignlooksotiny onlydontleanovertoofarcuzit'shardfor themtoholdyouandyou'llalmostfall whichisfununtiltheyhavetogetthe hawktograyouwiththeclaws cuzthemsclawsare reallybigandreallysharp andhighoneshowlongishestaying?** She was scrambling from wherever she was to try to get back to wherever she needed to be in time to see whatever it was that she could see. Where am I again?
Savith, meanwhile, not privy to Hummingbird's private send to Starsong, continued his measured descent until he came into view.

Ugh! Starsong grabbed her head as if it were in pain, an agonized look on her face. She was still not used to her chieftess' excitable, high pitched sends. It was like murder on her brain. In her usual, monotone send, she replied to Hummingbird **No, I dont think that will be feesable, he has already sent his bird back, just like last year, and it will not return until the snow melts** She said, a hint of talking down to her chieftess, she just could not muster any other tone. Meanwhile Eclipse was still hopping from foot to foot, awaiting the glider's decent so that he, and he alone, could show the guest to his quarters.

From afar to Starsong, Hummingbird seemed to pout and lose interest, **Oh well! Tell him I said hi then and I'll see him later and... ooh, capnuts!** And the send ended there, drifting off, just like her attention span.
Meanwhile, back at the clearing, Savith broke through the canopy with nary a rustle, eyes taking a moment to scan the ground for his welcome committee.

She was grateful for the silence in her head, she was not going to reply asking her what startled her, she was really not that interested. As she watched the glider descend she yawned and did her best to make herself look wholly uninterested. Below, her son Eclipse did a small dance from foot, to foot, making it look like he needed to relieve himself. He waited for the visitor anxiously, wondering when it would be polite if he could ask him to teach him to fly as well.

Savith spotted the prancing cub and supressed a faint sigh. **I thank you for your welcome,** his mind sent out with a practiced dullness.

The others in the grove greeted the Glider warmly as was their custom, asking if he needed anything. The welcome was short, as most of the tribes members had things to do, to prepare for the upcoming whiltecold season. As the others left to do their tasks, one remained, Eclipse. He looked up at the Glider with awe, barely remembering the last time the gliders had visited. **I'm to take you to your den** He sent to the Glider, remembering what his mother had firmly told him what to do and say. He held out a hand as to lead the glider to the area where he would take residence over the next several months. Starsong watched all this from her tree, a smile played at her lips, though she was completely unawares of it.

Savith peered down at the wolf-child, eyes emotionless for one long cold second as darker thoughts ran through his head. But ordered to be polite, Savith took the offered hand, shifting his pack on his shoulders slightly and giving Eclipse a nod. Even as he turned his gaze on where he was to go, his feet settled to the ground. **I follow,** he stated simply, keeping himself distant.

Eclipse's feet almost left the ground as he reached up high to take the gliders hand. He giggled as he tugged the Glider towards the guest den. **Watch your head** he sent as he opened the leather flap and went inside, beckoning for the glider to follow. The den was on the ground level, a shaped section of the father tree. The floor had been lowered so that the height of the room was 6 feet at highest point. This giving their guest a bit more room to stand than that of the average wolfrider. Eclipse hopped down into the room and started to show the Glider where he could put his things, hang his bow (he was the huntresses child after all), where to sleep, a place to wash up, etc. As Starsong watched the child go into the den with the glider she got up from her spot, leaving crowmark to take over watch. She slid down the tree with ease and walked over to the den, hunching down at the entrance and watching quietly as the cub spoke with the glider. Shine had come out from the woods and sat with the huntress. Four almond shaped eyes watched the two in the den, silently.

His bow. How cute. Savith made no comment as he moved into the den, ducking down to do so. His eyes flitted about the interior, noting with a bit of satisfaction that it was at least big enough for him to stand on his own two feet even if he couldn't glide about as he would like to.
He dropped his things were he was told, unpacking for the winter. His eyes followed the cub every so often, but he knew the drill. No quick movements. Nothing that would make anyone nervous. He didn't need another arrow in him that would get no good healing until spring.

As Eclipse finished with the tour he continued to stand there and watch the tall elf settle in. **Would you like some food? Or a story?** he asked, he was not very good at stories, not like his father was.
Starsong continued to watch silently, amused. Her son had done well in her duty as Hummingbird instructed. She did not want to deal with the glider folk again, but as chief hunter, she had no choice but to make sure they stayed in line.

Savith glanced up at Eclipse from his unpack and nodded once. **When it is time for the tribe to eat, if I an invited, I shall go. Otherwise, I have trail rations that will sustain me.**
