Let's see if this is right this time. I really need a signature saying 'I'm lost'...

This began as a pun on Alucard's name. I'm so sorry if you don't like puns! crying
'Kay, not really. wink

Alucard as the Ace of Spades, Integra as King of Spades
User Image User Image
Large Alucard here. Large Kingtegra here.
(Yes, the ace is a face card in this particular deck - because of the "A" basically.)

I hate when people say "look at the large version!" but the colors for Minicard got squiffied so it really would make me happy. I'll fix em later...maybe.

So the idea is that Hellsing Org is the spades. I think Millennium should be a contrasting color - if only clubs were red. *sigh*
I think I'll assign Iscariot to be hearts with no guilt at all. Yes, Anderson will be Ace of Hearts...
If/when I get to him.

If anyone likes the idea and wants to post their own cards (especially if they think chara's should be in different suits), they are welcome to!
Though it hurts my soul to use plural for singular neutral...
I'd especially like to see if anyone does them in a more traditional (cardier) way. Or as Chibis, because I'm having a hard time conceptualizing them.

Hey, this is a really good idea! I agree that Hellsing seems like the spades. Also, good work picking the suits. The ace fits Alucard too considering he's called, in one of the earlier translations, Ace of Death. Would the queen be Seras and the jack walter, maybe? Hmm, or should Pip be the jack?

Ooooh that's such a cool idea Aaronn! Most of my life I've avoided playing cards, but I'd play if it had Hellsing characters on it. 3nodding

By the way, what other characters are you asigning to each card? I'm hoping that Seras gets to be the Queen of Spades and Pip the Jack. heart (Walter's a traitor, why give him a high Spade position?)

Oh, now I'm excited! I can't wait to learn more! blaugh

Yikes! Now I have to actually do more. xd

Don't avoid the cards, ShadowsHeir! Play Spit! It's like a drug for your hands.
Quote:
Older decks are ideal because the cards may become damaged in play.

I think Seras will be the Queen, but I was thinking Walter would be Joker for some reason...uh, not the Batman-y kind. Pip might be the Jack. I'll have to think about it more. ninja

But, yeah, other people can decide differently. *hinthint*

Thanks for the links, Gorenza. It is certainly interesting, I didn't know Tarot and playing cards were so connected.
I think the second and last links will be particularly useful. I was just doing this on a feeling, and it's weird to see how it matches up with more established arrangements.

I still wish clubs were red. stare

I think it should go
Alucard - Ace
Anderson- King
Integra-Queen
Walter- Jack
10-Seras
9-Herr Major
8-Captain
7-Doc
6-Schro
5-Rip
4-Luke
3-Jan
2-Alucard's First Gun

I am glad you appreciate it Aeronn.
I know this makes it harder to consider but the extra thought makes your art all the more amazing. Sorry that many of the sites state the same thing about days/weeks and seasons. I guess that is supposed to be a big shocker so each website states it. The card calender is very interesting. Not unlike your zodiac sign or your astrological sign the birthday card shares a lot of neat information about people. This could be a fun key to help you along. There was another website a ran into months and months ago that depicted the cards as an anti christen motives. I have heard the same in support of Christianity. They are truly a mysterious piece of heritage. It is doubtful we will ever know who created them in the first place and for what reason. Boy are there a lot of Theories that in shroud this 52 card deck. Thank you for looking through the sites. I am glade to share what I have found for it interests me a great deal. I only hope you find something with in the reading that inspires you in your card creations.

Wow, they both look really cool. I like the color palete for each of them, and I love the pun on Alu's name. x3

I have an idea of my own similar to this that was inspired by the song "Shape of my Heart". The only difference with my idea is that instead of assigning one character to a card, I've assigned two to a card so they could be like reflections. Anyway:

Ace of Clubs - Alucard, Major

Ace of Spades: Integra, Anderson

Ace of Diamonds: Enrico, ???

Ace of Hearts: Pip, Seras

I can't really think of any significance in the value assigned to the cards though, so they don't all have to be aces.

Walter as the Joker. And no matter what Alucard says, I think Dark Walter looks cooler. biggrin
It's kind of ironic that the Joker is the only card that usually doesn't have two faces...

Meh, I was going to do a darker background, maybe I still will. I have a too-dark one that looks weird.

Prozac: I see, so that would be if they are all in one suite. I was planning to have them mostly as the face cards, so it would mostly be a regular deck. I love your idea about having Alucard's guns as a separate card, though. 3nodding

Kinda reminds me of the Twelve days of Christmas song...
...hmm, I might have seen that with Hellsing characters before...but it also involved Snape on a plane.

Gorenza:
Eh, whenever you research stuff you're going to get doubles. It's still interesting to see where they deviate.
I guess cards are similar to a lot of things that were pagan and got adopted by the Christians - that would be my guess anyway. Like pentagrams and things...

I'm having fun trying to find the most-suitable personalities, but in order to have the suites make sense I'm going to have to ignore nicer matches.
The Joker description on the cardofdestiny site is so Schrodinger, but because of the suits I'm going to do it differently.

But that leaves it open for reinterpretation! surprised
On a sidenote: Waah, I don't wanna be the Universal Love card. crying

Soleil de Midi: That sounds like a cool idea, you should do it!
I actually started an Integra that was going to be two different aspects of her personality, but it wound up not being what I wanted. Because I couldn't really have a cute Integra on the King of Spades... xd
That's interesting how you arranged them, though. I tend to pair Integra and Major as opposites, and Alucard and Anderson. But Pip and Seras I get. 3nodding

Well there are always to jokers in a deck if you change your mind about Schrödinger. I found it interesting that you tossed playing cards in the Walter image. You could toss the Schroedinger idea out the window and have the other Joker be Tubalcaine Alhambra.

Yeah, I was a bit worried about the similarity to Tubalcain. It doesn't make much sense yet, but it's supposed to show conflicting alliances. xp

That is a good suggestion, though, I was forgetting about multiple jokers.

Maybe by the time I get around to Schro and him the plot will have made things more clear. The question is whether I can out-procrastinate Kouta Hirano. wink

Regardless your work is fantastic and I wound not mind seeing what you come up with. I know that it is a long process in making each card. Just looking at the quality you are able to produce proves that.

If you where willing to take on a huge task well you could make a deck for each character. Each face card an Ace being a diffrent pose of a single character through out the deck. After all that work it would be easy to create what you are developing at the moment. *sigh* yeah I know...I must be dreaming right? Just follow me here if you where to go through and have the Schrödinger deck, The Walter deck and the Alucard deck ect...Then logically this master deck you are building would be your greatest collection. That is if you would rather wait to see what works best.

Working on this deck first and branching off into the others works. smile

I have to ask have you drawn art professionally before?
