Enter Shikari is a British post-hardcore band that makes use of some synthesised sound effects. They formed in 2003 in St Albans, Hertfordshire, England where all four members are from, as an evolution from an earlier band, Hybryd. The band is named after both one of the band member’s relative’s boats, and a character in a play Rou wrote before forming the band, both of which are named Shikari. Shikari also means ‘Hunter’, in Persian, Hindi, Nepali, Urdu and Punjabi. Their debut album, Take to the Skies was released on March 19, 2007 and reached #4 in the Official UK Album Chart.
Due to the Band not being able to get signed within the music industry they instead, decided to ‘do it alone’, they created their own independent record label Ambush Reality, with assistance from their distributor.
