Guild Nickname: Moonshadow
Guild Possition: Ice Lieutenant
Date of First Post: June 10th, 2008
Character Name: Saash (Shadow)
Post Text Style: Example text; thoughts
Species/Race: Dragon
Age: 19 years
First flight?: sorta; can fly using wings in human form, but can't yet as a dragon
First Flight?: no
Size: AS DRAGON: 37' snout-to-tail (body is 15'), 39' wingspan, slender and lithe
AS HUMAN: 5'4", lithe and somewhat curvy
Appearance: AS DRAGON: Small side of average dragon size, with shining black scales. She has a large span for her size, and it is still growing. She has a black crest, courtesy of her father, that serves to protect her neck. She has a spiny ridge that she can flatten or raise at will. Most of her length is in her neck and tail. She has bright blue eyes that seem to sparkle and shine in the faintest of light, and has cat-like pupils.
AS HUMAN: Wears long, black pants, and sturdy black boots. Has on an odd vest, black with red accents, and a white shirt with two crossed belts going accross her chest under it. The belts have several throwing knives strapped to them. She wears two crossed belts at her waist, studded with some form of semiprecious gem. She has black hair, most of which is held back in a twist, the bangs kept off of her face by a black band that lays over the strap for an eyepatch on her right eye. She wears black gloves, a long string of black beads wrapped around her right wrist several times, and wields two black double-ended spears. She has two scars on her face, approximately where they would be on her muzzle, and intense blue eyes. She siometimes has large, black dragon wings.
Temperment: Saash is somewhat cautious, though not so much as Saan, when meeting new humans. She is more cautious when meeting new dragons, but is more defensive with other females, whereas Saan is more defensive around other males.
Personality: Interests: History: She hatched on the continent of Seralia in the Nation of Darkness. Her parents were a well-established but aged pair living in a remote region. Hunters found them one day, sent to kill them for their shining, glossy black scales (prized there for armor). Her parents managed to appease the hunters and keep their lands in exchange for two of the eggs in the clutch that her mother carried. The hunters agreed, and told the pair that they would have three moon-cycles before they would return.
Her mother laid her clutch but a few days later, which was a small one of only six. When the hunters returned, the eggs were set to hatch anytime. The eggs were too heavy to take with them, being so developed, so they said they'd return for two hatchlings within the year, as they would never survive the trek before then. They only required that they get their choice of one male and one female if the clutch had both.
Saash hatched first of her clutch, and was the second strongest and fastest by far; only the second to hatch, her brother Drakkin, could come close to matching her speed, though he was a little bigger and stronger. She also had three sisters and a sickly brother as clutch-mates.
When her father reported the hunters' return, her mother knew who would be picked, and decided to not give up so fast. She hid Saash and Drakkin deep in the woods and told them to stay for three days or until she or their father came to fetch them.
Then, she left, and they waited together, finding a large, dry cave to stay in. At the end of the three days, they returned to the nesting area by the light of the moon.
What they found was horrid.
They saw the bloody remains of their parents, stripped of tooth, scale, claw, bone, liver, and heart. They were clearly killed earlier in the day.
Saash and Drakkin also found their clutchmates were missing, no trace of any blood from them. They searched for the hunters' trail and followed it.
They traveled for several weeks until they found a small village. They staked out for a while, and learned that their brother and sisters were being kept in an old stable, shackled, chained, and with iron bands about their snouts.
They waited for a chance to strike, and soon had a chance. A Kromatics trader's caravan was passing through, and was demanding the black scales they were promised. The hunters told them that they had better, and showed them the four young dragons, all of which were black.
The trader liked that.
They debated the price of them, and decided on taking two of the females. It was late enough that the caravan stayed, and promised to stay the next day too. Saash later overheard that the villagers were planning on killing the other two, their sickly brother and frail sister, later fot their scales, since neither looked strong enough to live for long.
That night, Saash and Drakkin snuck into the village and found the wagon their sisters were chained to and freed them, and they ran off in to the dark forest together. Then, they went to free the others from the stable, not realizing that the some of the traders had awoken while they freed their sisters.
As they worked to free their other two clutchmates, the traders woke everyone and prepared to attack the young dragons.
Even as they broke the last of the chains that kept their siblings their, they were attacked by the combined force of the traders and villagers. They did not go for the kill, though, and they only maimed a few humans before they felt the snares tighten arond their limbs, thrown by the hunters.
Trapped as such, they could do nothing more than hate the humans.
The traders were delighted to have found captured such a strong pair, and promptly upped their payment to the villagers by half. As retribution for doing so much damage and "trying to make fools of smart, cunning men", secured them as their siblings had been and used snares about their necks and snouts to make them watch as their siblings were killed and butchered before their eyes.
Then, they were taken away by wagon. Saash and Drakkin were in the same wagon, and were glad for it, as they were afraid and always felt safer together. They arrived in the capital of the Nation of Darkness soon, a city controlled by the Kromatics.
They were taken to a large complex of buildings where there were other young dragons, rangnig from the newly-hatched to those almost ready to Fly for the first time. They were assigned "lairs", tiny stone hollows branching off of a main cave. The woman who assigned them let them be next to each other, so they could "provide moral support as they progress through the program".
It turned out that they were in a facility that was devoted to raising dragons to serve the Kromatics.
They met a few other dragons and bonded with them; there were three in particular, clutchmates, about a year older than them, two females and a male, that they befriended. They spent two years in the facility, working hard and training themselves, and developing their flame in hers and Drakkin's case, before things went south.
The Trials, where young dragons fought for possition within the program, became mandatory, and the weakest fifth were killed, and the very best would be raised as "breeders". Speed, intelligence, and strength were tested and dragons were given scores based upon how they performed, and those scores determined fates.
In the trials, Saash and drakkin excelled, even as their friends failed. They were all in the bottom fifth.
Saash and Drakkin were in the top tenth, though, and moved to better facilities. They were moved with a trading caravan, chained with studded metal collar to the wagons.
En route, Saash broke her chain, and tried to free Drakkin before anyone realized what had happened. However, the guard noticed and she had to run for it, without Drakkin, but not before promising Drakkin she'd come back for him someday.
She escaped to the Nation of Fire and paid a poor blacksmith with a few of the scales she was shedding to remove the collar, but the Kromatics came looking for her. The smith promised to vouch for her and pay for most of her food in exchange for any scale she shed and for her to use her flame to fuel his forge for a year. She agreed, and was safe for a time. At the end of the year, she left the smith a rich man, since he hadn't had to pay for fuel for the forge and he had sold two ornately worked dragonscale suits of armor, and still had scales for two more (she had done a lot of growing in the time she spent with him, and, correspondingly, had shed many too-small scales).
She wandered the border with the Nation of Wind, eventually encountering a young dragon named Saan, who was a year her senior. They decided to travel together and have wandered the continents since.
Special Traits/Powers: Unconsciously aware of other's Auras.
Strengths/Assets: Knows she gets a good first impression of those she meets (though she doesn't realize it's because she has a way with Auras). She is great at harnessing magical energy, even when she doesn't have a spell to guide it.
Weaknesses/Flaws: Sometimes she reads others too well, and has been known to spring "traps" and make others suspicious when she knows how to handle someone too well. She doesn't have as much energy as Saan does, so she can run out quickly on her own if she's not careful. She's so used to having Saan, and the seemingly infinite "well" of energy he has, with her that she doesn't really budget her own energy so well. If she can't maintain a steady energy level, there are several things that may happen, including, but not limited to: random scale-color changes, extreme lethargy, constant sleepiness, hyperactivity, adrenaline-cravings, extreme paleness, etc.

Character Name: Saan (Moon)
Post Text Style: Example text; thoughts
Species/Race: Dragon
Age: 20 years
First flight?: yes
First Flight?: no, opted out
Size: AS DRAGON: 41' snout-to-tail (body is 19'), 39' wingspan, strong-side-of-average build
AS HUMAN: 6'3" and somewhat well-built
Appearance: AS DRAGON: He has silvery-white scales that range between being matte and dazzlingly shiny; he can change that at will. He has a large span for his size, though he is more proportional than Saash. His crest is smaller than Saash's, and less menacing. He has long spines running along his spine, and can raise and lower them at will. His eyes are a bright blue, though of a darker shade than Saash's, yet with no less depth or shine.
As HUMAN: Wears silvery-white pants and white shoes with some small accents. Has a blue vest with a long white shirt underneath with overlaid crossed belts going across his chest, from which hang an assortment of throwing knives, over which he wears a vest similar in style to Saash's, though it's white with black accents. He also wears black gloves of a similar style to hers. He has three earrings in his right ear (two small hoops and a stud) and two in the left (a hoop and a stud). His right eye is covered by a black patch, and he wears a black scarf to both hide the strap and keep his hair back, which is silvery-white and falls around his face in streaks, helping to hide his face and striking blue eye. He wields two silver swords, long and narrow, with silver-wrought wings as the guards, above the black leather-wrapped grip and silver pommel.
Temperment: Saan is cautious, more so than Saash, when meeting new humans. He is just as cautious when meeting new dragons, but is more defensive around other males, whereas Saash is more defensive around other females.
Personality: Interests: History: Hatched fourth of ten eggs in his clutch in the Fire Nation on the continent of Seralia. His parents fought for their Nation in wars in exchange for a territory complete with nesting grounds, some forest, and a small plains area full of more than enough herd-animals. One day, though, when he was about a year old, his parents didn't return from the wars. Instead, humans came to capture the young dragons. He organized his four sisters sister and five brothers and they fought, but were overwhelmed by the sheer number of people. Four of his brothers and two of his sisters were captured. He was made to watch as his other brother and two sisters, the three he was closest too and the three that had fought hardest, were slain in cold blood.
Saan was the only one of the clutch to escape. He had managed to grab one of the human's badges from their cloak, plus a belt with its buckle. He found a small herdsman's house, and sought help, as he hadn't escaped unscathed; he had a nasty gash on one leg that went almost to the bone. He asked the herdsman for help, and finally recieved it after convincing him that he would neither eat his animals nor burn his home or fields. He traded the badge for the care for his leg, one sickly herdsbeast, and to repair the belt; some of the gold threads were trying to separate from the supple black leather.
He soon left, wearing the belt around his neck like a collar. The herdsman had told him that it was the sign of the Kromatics, and would protect him within that region; the herdsman had given so much for the badge because it was that of a Kromatic Trader, and would better than double the price he could sell his beasts for.
The belt did see him through many tight spots, including a run-in with a dozen Kromatics dragons; he passed himself off as a racing- and message-dragon-in-training, courtesy of his already decent-sized wings and (then) slight build.
He wandered for almost five years. He was traveling along the border with the Nation of Wind when he encountered another young dragon by the name of Saash who was about a year younger. They decided to travel together, and he has been with her since, wandering the continents.
Additionally, he has stopped growing, so now can use his wings to fly. He is also old enough to Fly, and has actually had the opportunity, though he turned it down in favor of...well...you'll see... ^_^
Special Traits/Powers: Unusually large amount of magical energy. He has amazing speed and maveuvrability in the air thanks to his relatively large wings. Innately aware of people's proximity based upon the relative strength of their Aura as they move (not a conscious process, though)
Strengths/Assets: He is a magical power-house with more energy than he knows what to do with. Also, he is fast and maneuvrable in the air, and has a knack for being able to effectively conceal himself and evade detection.
Weaknesses/Flaws: He is less skilled with casting spells than he wishes, and his magical energy "boils over", so to speak, when he doesn't use enough (there are many side-effects, including, but not limited to: randomly transforming things/creatures around him; accidentally destroying things nearby; his scale-color changing; and believing he has become a little birdy). He also is a little weaker physically than other dragons with his wingspan. His knack for concealing himself can make him near impossible to track (good when being hunted, bad when friends are searching for you)

Character Name: Kashna (Moonshadow)
Post Text Style: Example textSpecies/Race: Human
Age: 17
Size 5'6", lean, curvy, and strong
Appearance: She's average height, and built on the leaner side. But that's not to say she isn't very strong. She is a bit curvy, with really good proportions. She has long, wavy black hair to her waist with shorter sections around her face. Her eyes are a pale silver-gray and seem very open and innocent, yet still seem to pierce one's soul. She generally wears it down, but sometimes pulls it back into a simple ponytail. She wears a black long-sleeved top trimmed in fur and a black cloak accented with silver. She has long, white pants, which she wears under a blueish-purple and silver belted overskirt. She wears simple black boots. She has a silver heart-shaped pendant and a skull hairpin carved from stone.
She carries many weapons. She prefers to fight with her scythe in her left hand and her ice-infused katana in her right. Her other weapons include a second scythe (back), two regular katanas (back), another ice-infused katana (side), and a short sword (back).
Temperment: Personality: Interests: History: Special Traits/Powers: Gets a "sense" of someone, but has nothing to do with their Aura; she "feels" some of the essence of their thoughts and character. She also can read some people's thoughts; she has no idea what the difference is between those whose thoughts she can read and those whose thoughts are veiled. She is quick on her feet and reasonably skilled with her chosen weapons. Has a natural flair for working with Auras.
Strengths/Assets: Can read some people's thoughts. Gets a "sense" of people without relying on their Aura. Very quick on her feet. Great fighter-in-the-making. Learns quickly. Great poker face. A great tracker. Sensitive to the feelings of others.
Weaknesses/Flaws: Sometimes gets a totally wrong "sense" of someone. Can't read everyone's thoughts. Not as strong as others physically. Overly persistent and stubborn sometimes. Sometimes misses learning something because she's learning so fast. Generally a bit cocky. Other's moods affect hers strongly.

NOTE: Currently, Kashna only has the first ice katana and scythe; others come later ^_^
I'll finish my profiles later! Still need to finish these, then add Kashna and Zaparku. Sorry Saash's history is so long; I'll edit later.
