Because I watched Torchwood before Doctor Who, I totally thought "The Empty Child" meant Jack. I found out that was the first episode he was ever in and the title seemed to fit with what his personality was/is like.
Was I totally off on this train of thought or is there some merit to it?

I'm pretty sure "The Empty Child" refers to an actual child who is the source of conflict for that episode.
Also, SPOILER Jack was still mortal (or un-killable) during this episode. Going along the argument that he is "empty" because he can't die, he isn't "empty" yet, so it can't really apply to him. SPOILER

Yeah, this is the first episode Jack appeared in. I love his attitude when he's with the doctor. He's like a kid, I'll always sad it. He's happier, chippier. Idk, he's less Cpt Jack....and more Jack! lol

What would you do if a fleet of Charizards were hunting you down?
It was an amazing episode. "Are you my mummy?"
And then in Season four with the Sontaranns. Ten going, "Are you my mummy?" I laughed my a** off. Franlkly, I'd run.

Is the empty child the one with are you my mummy? Because I thought that was the doctor dances? Or was the first part of the two-parter. Oh well. I still thought it was pretty freaky with the whole "are you my mummy" i kept thinking of the exorcist for some reason. And those masks, they really add to the freak-meter. But Jack was in the episode, and I love the whole dialogue between the doctor and Jack about the banana groove. CE "Don't drop the banana!" JB "Why?" CE: "It contains potassium." lol
