So, for those of you who actually come around now: I'm trying to bring this guild back up to whatever semblance of greatness it was before I took over.
I want to PM all the members, asking for activeness and finding more people to join.
I want to start creating more threads in all the subforums, and I want all the members to try to at least post in threads, if not make their own.
Beyond that, I haven't really thought of anything, but I may do a recruiting contest of some sort.

Tomorrow. It's almost 2 AM here and I don't want to start then stop again. If you have any ideas whatsoever, post 'em here.

True, it's late here too. Well, if it'd make anything easier, you ought to rally all of the mods and crew members to help you out. Makes the bulk of it a whole lot less overwhelming. And if you want to recruit writers, I wouldn't recommend just making a recruit thread. Let's face it, it doesn't work. If you want good members, you really got to go out and actually look for them. Members don't come to you, you hunt them down.

For members, you can search out interests, and then invite those to the guild that have Sci-fi and writing, or Fantasy and writing in their interests.

Good idea, Sugar; I'll see about getting the mods in here, and if you two want to help...?

sorry to be so spotty in my attendance. I've been having some health issues.
so, ideas for getting our guild built up and active:
* how do you get the guild into the Guild Spotlight (Most people at least glance at it as they troll for goodies)?
* any idea how/if we can get our club's banner mixed into the 'advertising' bar that shows up over our Inboxes?
* troll the Jobs forum for people looking for writers and post our banner as a possible source?
* swap banners and links with other active writing guilds
* swap banners with some of the art guilds, offering writing for art/art for writing
* if there is any way of keeping track of how many postings each member has, you could offer a small gold incentive (say, 10g for your 10th post, 100g for the 100th, etc.). if not by post, maybe by story? or helpful critique, for people who don't write as much?

I think you should have a thread (possible a sticky) for people to either a) introduce themselves b) post to prove they actually exists c) talk about how to get the site back together d) prove that they are active in some way, shape, form, or level of semi-consciousness e) all of the above. Although it occurs to me now that that may be what this thread is... sweatdrop

Sorry to not be on, long story short I live about ten miles from Galveston, Tx and we got hit hard my hurricane Ike. Comcast (my internet provider) is still down in my town so I have a hard time getting online. Plus my house has a giant hole in the roof.

I'm still around. I'll try to help think of things to aid the guild. Oh, maybe you can make a nanowrimo forum for people to post what they've written or how far they got, or the plot line for assistance. Or maybe not just nanowrimo, but writing contests in general. (With a writing contest list so people know where to go?)
