So one day you go and turn on your 360 and what do you know, your 360 has 3 flashing red lights you might think for a second and look in the back to see if any thing is loose.
But nothing now you are stock with a system that can do s**t right!,that my friends is not the case you can call Xbox support up and after spending minutes screaming to the phone because their animated voice machine suck so much balls you will finally be send to a crew member that is their to help.
So now you get to talk so someone that may speak some form of English or at least can be understood.(truest me after you spend as much time as i did on that phone with them you will see what i mean stare )
Ok i need to stop ranting now and do a little more helping,so now they tell you that you can replace your 360 if your under warranty right but guess what it will take 2 to 3 weeks for it to come back to you.(It take me a week an a 2 days to get mine back, but it is different for every one some of which can take a whole month!)
Ok so if your any thing like me you would most likely be really angry and ask them well can i change it in a store or some thing and they will most likely tell you NO!, but what you don't hear is the guy laughing in the back.
So now you are stock with this thing for like 3 days in till the box's gets to your house and you might think hey why don't i try that towel trick idea .
Ok now stop... back away from the towel and slap your self for trying to turn your hows in to a fire ball of death.

The Towel Trick Is A Bunk..You're More Likely To Set Your Xbox 360 On FIRE
"A few bloggers and forums recommend “The Towel Fix.” First, let’s think about this. The Xbox 360 cost Microsoft billions of dollars to develop. Highly educated engineers and programmers created the box.
Do you really think that wrapping the machine in a bath towel will fix it?
This dumb urban legend says that you can …wrap your Xbox 360 in a towel… reboot and start playing-3 red lights gone.
One respected blogger concludes: “The towel trick is bunk…You’re more likely to set your Xbox 360 on fire by doing this than fixing it."
Now i did it and it worked.... in away.. you see i was able to get on for like five minutes and then the 360 would freeze up. sweatdrop
If you really want to do this then make sure that you have a fire extinguisher on hand an have the damn thing some where that wont let any thing catch on fire as well.
Ok so now you have an option you can fix it by your self for about 60$ in about an hour or so.
Yup but the problem is that if you can you are going to need some kind of guide to help you out and if you have a credit card you can buy some really good guides for about $24 or so.(If your good at something my boy you will never do it for free 3nodding )
Here are links to one of does guide pages that is selling them,there are more like this one but so far I'm going to put up only this two cause they look good.

Warning what I'm about to show you takes a some skill to do don't try this if you are not good with any thing that is electronic.
Also by opening up your 360 if you had any warranty on it it will now be gone cause you are not aloud to open it up.

Please consider your options before opening your 360 up. If you feel like you are pretty handy fixing computers, handling sensitive hardware, and working with basic tools, you should be fine.

Now let's get down to business.

Tools you'll need:

A thin hex head L-shaped wrench OR a probe tool of some sort.
1 T-8 Torx screwdriver
1 T-10 Torx screwdriver
Plastic scraper tool or pocket knife
Arctic Silver or other brand high quality heat sink paste
1 Brillo steel wool pad
Cleaning supplies

I'm not going to detail how to get the 360 apart, you can follow instructions on how to do that. You'll need to get the motherboard out of the metal cage, and pop off the heatsinks from both the CPU and GPU.

Once you get the GPU heatsink removed, look at the thermal pad on the bottom of it. Does it have a rectangular metallic silver cover on it? This is how mine looked. I suspect this thermal pad is insufficient for the amount of heat generated by the GPU.

NOTE: If yours DOES NOT have this metallic silver cover, your hardware faults might lie somewhere else. However, since you're this far already, keep going. Better cooling for your 360 would never hurt.

Scrape off the thermal pad from both the aluminum GPU heatsink and the copper CPU heatsink. I used a Brillo steel wool pad for this, and it worked great. It even polished the bottom of the heatsinks a little bit. If you get the heatsinks wet, make sure you dry them thoroughly before reinstalling.

Now clean the remaining thermal paste from the GPU and CPU. My CPU had the most paste on it, so it took the longest. I used small pieces of a paper towel slightly dampened with 409 and it worked fair. You may have a better method of removing thermal paste from a CPU, so use your judgment here.

Once clean, apply your thermal paste to the CPU and GPU dies. Don't apply too much, just enough to cover the entire die.

Now reinstall the heatsinks, put the 360 back together, and enjoy.

Now if you don't like to read instructions here is the first part of two.

Now some 360 may break you games and or will damage it now i have not looked for a page that can help with this yet but i thing that there is one some where out there and i will post it up as soon as i can.
Now there are some problems that we have no idea how to fix the like the power cord not giving the 360 the juice it need.(trust me this has happen to be the first 360 broke my Gears disc 2 time, yes i know i was an idiot to keep playing games but hey i love Gears heart )(I have also had the problem with the power cord... i Hate Microsoft smile )
Now if it breaks your game you have two options, you ether buy a new one or use the Disc Replacement Program.
If, for any reason, you have a damaged Microsoft® Xbox 360™ disc you can replace it and it takes about the same time as the system to get back to you but some time it will take less.(I got mine in a week)
Now you see how i you the bold, that mean you can only replace games that are exclusive to the 360 or are own by the 360.
So for any other game you are going to need to call the company that maid them up an tell them what happen to the disk.

Here is the list of the xbox 360's games:
* Crackdown™
* Fuzion Frenzy 2
* Gears Of War®
* Halo® 2
* Halo® 3
* Kameo™: Elements of Power™
* Perfect Dark Zero™
* Project Gotham Racing® 3
* Viva Piñata™
* Xbox Live® Arcade Unplugged Vol. 1
That is a pretty long list right rolleyes

Now here is the link to the form that you are going to need in order to get your game back.
Also before i forget you are going to need $20 dollars from a credit card in order to get you game.
So first you break my Game and now you want me to pay for it stare
I give you the big mega super duper finger Microsoft...

do you know how to fix a broken hard drive? i got one partial red ring (only...uh...first player's ring shows? i think?)

and the microsoft assholes told me to buy a new hard drive.

i've wasted 100+ hours on that hard drive and the games on it, no way in hell am i going to just buy a new one.

got any suggestions?

by the way, the warranty is void, so i can do whatever the ******** i want to the 360 anyways.

Thanks man, i was able to figure out the problem, but my friend declined to opening the box as the ******** who call themselves microsoft said if we opened it, they would NEVER fix it even if we payed a ridiculous amount of money.
