Plot Much time has passed since Wendy and her brothers left Neverland and returned home to London. Even in a place where time stands still, some of those who had been touched by Darling family's presence are beginning to feel the effects of their absence. The Lost Boys have already adapted to the change, and for them it is as if nothing ever happened at all. Life is a game again. With Peter to tell them Wendy's old stories and pirates left to fight even with the absence of Captain James Hook, nothing need be different. But as for Peter Pan, there's something missing. He no longer has his favorite rival to fight, nor his closest friend to keep him occupied. He begins to wonder if this is what it means to grow up. For him, finding meaning in his once-carefree life has become increasingly difficult. One night, he decides that he's had enough of this troubled state of mind, and flies back to London, intent on bringing Wendy back. However, to Peter's dismay, he arrives only to find her window closed and a new family staying where the Darlings should have been. But instead of returning home that evening, Peter decides to stay, vowing to find Wendy, and not to leave until he does. He never returns. Years go by, and as the Lost Boys wait for their leader to return, Peter has grown older and almost forgotten about Neverland altogether. However, Neverland hasn't forgotten about him, and with Hook's return his homeland misses him more than ever. Quote: Table of ContentsPlot Rules Characters Map of Nerverland Announcements

It was a warm summer's evening and the night sky was lit with stars. Most of London's inhabitants had already gone to sleep and weren't paying much attention to the sky. If they had, they might have noticed the odd movement of one star in particular. It danced across the darkness, seeming to grow bigger and then smaller again. At last, as though the movement had been too much for whatever held it in place, the star dropped, falling away from the others to skip across the city's trees and rooftops. After an unusually purposeful trip, the star finally came to rest on the sill of the second story window. Just below the window hung a sign that read "Barrie's Printing Press". A soft creak sounded as a gentle breeze caused the sign to swing back and forth. The star, which upon closer inspection proved not to be a star at all but a tiny woman, frowned down at it with obvious irritation. Her gaze returned to the window and tiny hands pressed against the dirty glass. Another locked window. The faint glow around the little creature cast a dim light into the room. It was sparsely furnished, with bare walls and floors. An old wooden chair sat in one corner of the room across from a single twin bed, where in lay the sleeping form of a young man. The miniature girl smiled. Success. The lost boys would be delighted to see their leader again of course, but it was nothing to how she felt now. No one could ever feel the affection that she held in her heart for this individual. Slowly, quietly, the latch that kept the window shut lifted until the two glass panes swung open, allowing the creature entrance. The small ball of light floated over to the bed, illuminating the man's resting face. She smiled warmly and hovered just close enough to place a tiny kiss on the lightly tanned cheek. We missed you. The young man stirred slightly but did not awaken. And not a soul would see the boy, floating across the sky accompanied by a tiny, shimmering star.

"Pull tight the rigging, there!" barked a voice dark and menacing but almost velvet sounding. The ship drifted swiftly upon the water, the night air causing the black sails to billow beautifully. Fierce blue eyes gazed up at the giant sails... This new ship was doing rather nicely, all things considered. She was heavier than the Jolly Roger, but made up for it in power. "Heave, you dogs!" came that voice again, and the Captain brushed glossy black curls out of his face as the wind whipped around them. Absently, he ran his left hand over the cool metal of his hook. His crew worked tirelessly against the wind, which at the moment, was still deciding exactly which way it wanted to blow. But the Captain hadn't care that the wind was irregular... He wanted to go North, and was determined to do so, despite whatever the wind was doing, or not doing. Captain James Hook walked back to the steering wheel, relieving the pirate there and shoving him out of the way, reclaiming the wheel. He turned the wheel only slightly, just when the sails caught an undraft from the South... He had been expecting this. With a burst of speed that no one had quite been expecting, the Corbeau Sans Amour sailed swiftly towards it's destination, and Hook smirked lightly, his pale, beautifully dark features illuminated in the blackness of night. "Sir," came a voice, and bosun Smee appeared from behind his Captain, looking troubled. "What is it?" Hook asked him without looking at him. "Pardon me, Capn', but do ya think it be such a good idea to be goin' back?" "As good as any," was Hook's short reply. "I suppose so," Smee answered awkwardly, looking down. "But you've... changed since back then... So how do you--" "I have changed," Hook cut in, his voice light and almost giddy. "I have indeed, Smee." Looking down at his right hand and the silver, glistening Hook that gleamed up at him, Hook steadied the wheel with his elbow and grabbed the Hook with his good hand, and yanked... The hook came off with a resounding snap, and two leather straps broke free of his arm. He flexed his new right hand that had been inside of the hook device, and smiled deviously. "And that's why we're going back." he said softly, almost to himself.
((^_^;; I hope you don't mind that I'm speaking for Smee, as well... I figure I can be parts of Hook's crew where it's necessary until someone else fills the spot. ^^ And I hope you don't mind what I did with Hook... His backstory in this RP is pretty interesting, and will come to light as the story goes on.))

She'd lost him. Well...dropped him to be more precise. After all the trouble she'd gone to- the months of searching, days of determining how to bring him back. And then of course figuring out a way to carry him. It had been no easy task, carrying a deadweight that was easily ninety times her size. And she'd almost made it too! Tinkerbell hovered in the air above the island and stamped her foot in the air, tears stinging the back of her eyes. She'd been so close! Just a few more minutes and she could have made it back to the Lost Boys. Assuming Peter had survived the fall, it was going to be near impossible to figure out where he'd landed since they'd still been above the clouds when he slipped. The faerie wiped furiously at her eyes and dove down towards he forest. If he'd fallen through the trees he might have gotten caught in the branches.
Unfortunately for Tinkerbell, Peter had fallen nowhere near the forest. He had in fact, landed quite roughly on the beach of Cannibal Cove and was just now coming to. He stirred slowly, noticing first the throbbing ache in his temples that soon spread to all part of his body. He'd stayed up too late again. This job was really getting to be too much. Grumbling incoherently he sat up and groped around for the pocket watch he always kept on his nightstand. It wasn't there. what's more, neither was his nightstand. The groggy blur that usually hung over the boy's mornings cleared almost instantly. Bright green eyes shot open and he jerked forward. This caused the pain in his limbs to sharpen to an extremely unpleasant degree and a groan passed from behind his suddenly dry lips. He was on a beach. And not the kind native to England either. A tropical one. Great. Still dreaming. Peter fell back against the white sand and closed his eyes. Had he dreamed this place before? It seemed oddly familiar... The sound of the waves gently washing against the shore, the cry of gulls...and something else. It wasn't just the sounds. There was a feel to the place, something magical he couldn't quite remember. No, this was just ridiculous. He sat up again and shook the sand out of his hair. He was too lucid for this to be a dream...
((Go right ahead!))

James closed his compass with a snap, and his piercing eyes scanned the ocean around them. He thought he had seen the island twice now, but the blasted thing vanished from sight as soon as he had spotted it. He had been prepared for this, and was perfectly aware that the island moved... What irritated him was that he first time he had accidentally stumbled upon the island, and it had been all too easy to find then. Now that he wanted to get back, it was playing hide and seek with him. Figures, he thought to himself. Something flashed in the distance, and it caught his sharp eye. Following the object, he realized that it was a small light, zipping through the air and heading towards... Well, nothing. There was nothing there but a vast stretch of ocean. James Hook smirked wonderfully, and flexed his new right hand out of habit. "Turn her starboard!" he yelled suddenly, which surprised his crew, who had been rather busy keeping the ship on the course they had already set. "Starboard, sir?" asked one of his pirates timidly. Hook made a point of rolling his eyes. "That is what I said, isn't it? Now get to it!!" Without further hesitation, the sails shifted and lowered slightly... The Corbeau Sans Amour turned, the wood creaking and crying under the sudden change in direction. Hook kept his eyes trained on the small light, which was almost out of sight... This would truly prove embarrassing if he was wrong about this. After a couple of moments, however, Hook smiled. The shimmering ocean had started shifting as they approached a certain stretch of water... Before the crew's eyes, the island materialized, blue water morphing into sandy beaches and green jungle, thin air producing moutainous regions and tall trees. "Gentleman," Hook said with amusement, "welcome back to the Neverland."

There were no rational explanations that came immediately to mind. Peter kicked at the perfectly white sand with a bare foot. Perhaps he'd been kidnapped? There were some pretty shifty characters at the tavern across from Barrie's. But what kind of kidnapper left their ward on a luxurious beach with no supervision? It made no sense. All he knew at this point was that he was awake. That was about it. Heaving a sigh, he turned to look out at the vast expanse of water in a vain attempt to place the location. While that plan itself proved unsuccessful, he did spot something on the horizon. A ship? As the thing moved closer the boy's suspicions were confirmed. A large, rustic looking ship, but it looked like it knew where it was headed. Surely there'd be someone aboard who could tell him where he was. In spite of his aching muscles he straightened his posture and waved, hoping someone might see him. They would eventually.

"Capn," came Smee's voice from the other end of the deck, "Capn', we see somethin!" Hook again rolled his eyes, and snapped his mechincal hook device back onto his arm, securing it with the leather straps, which snapped onto an upper arm brace that held the hook there. "Of course you see something," he said casually, again looking out at the island before them. "It's the bloody island. I thought I all ready mentioned that...?" he added sarcastically. "Drop anchor!" he barked afterwards, when they were close enough to the island to be able to easily row ashore. Smee nearly stumbled over himself in an attempt to reach his Captain, ignoring Hook's previous words. "No, no Capn... There be somebody on the island, look for yourself!" he said urgently, thrusting a spy glass at his Captain. Something menacing glinted in Hook's blue eyes... But he frowned. He hadn't expected to find someone so quickly... It had been a while since he had been on the island, and surely Peter wouldn't have known he was coming. He had half-hoped to surprise the lad. Taking the spy glass from his bosun, Hook held it up and pointed it in the direction Smee was pointing. There on the beach, there was indeed a figure... Hook's brow furrowed in confusion. It looked to be neither a lost boy, an indian, or Peter Pan himself... If anything, it looked like a castaway of some sort, and the fool was waving at his ship as if they were the British Navy. Hook dropped the spy glass and glanced at the sails of his own ship... He supposed it was a little difficult to tell that this was a pirate vessel at this point, considering the sails and flags were plain, unfinished and white... He hadn't gotten around to replacing them with the Jolly Roger's old sails quite yet. "Who do you suppose that is, Capn?" Smee asked. "No earthly idea," Hook said in a drawling voice. "Starkey! Prepare the dory. We're heading to the island." "So soon?" his first mate asked him, approaching his Captain. Hook nodded. "No time like the present, after all. Collect six men. The rest are to stay here and secure the ship... Remember to watch the skies," he commanded his crew. Starkey got the small dory ready, and six armed pirates, Smee, and a very anxious Hook piled in, and began rowing to shore to meet the poor fellow who was expecting help.
((I guess I'm Starkey, too. lol!))

They were sending a boat ashore. That had to be a good sign, right? Peter lowered his hand and sat back against a rock to wait for the sailors. While he waited he took advantage of the time to familiarize himself with his new surroundings which were already unervingly reminiscent of something he couldn't quite recall. It really was a beatiful place, wherever it was. The trees that led into the jungle behind him swayed in the sweet ocean breeze that wafted in with the tide. The temperature was comfortably warm, not too severe in either direction and the lack of any sort of pestilant insect life added to the appeal. Peter couldn't help but smile appreciatively as a butterfly drifted past his nose. He couldn't explain it, but he felt at home here. A disturbing thought... The nineteen year old shuddered to think that for a moment he'd almost forgetten his home. He shook his head and glanced back at the boat which was close enough now so that he could see its occupants. They were dressed like pirates right out of a children's story. A slight frown creased his features. How unusual. Were these historical reenactors? If so, what were they doing here in the middle of nowhere? It didn't make much sense, but then, not much of anything was at the moment.

Hook watched the young man on the island carefully as they approached... He wasn't armed, he certainly didn't look worried about anything... In fact, he looked almost pleased as punch that they were coming out to meet him. Too old to be a Lost Boy, not of indian decent... Just who was this fellow? Hook ran a finger over his chin, deep in thought... Somehow, the man looked familar to him. He couldn't quite place it, but he felt like he knew this person somehow. What good that did him at the moment, he wasn't sure, but perhaps before he gutted this person, he could get some information from him. Two of Hook's pirates jumped out of the dory when they got close enough to the shore and pulled it to the beach, securing it. He snapped his fingers at them when he noticed them eyeing the young man on the shore... He wanted to be the first to speak with him. He stepped out of the boat quite regally, and approached the man... His pirates filed out of the boat and surrounded their Captain and the man, making a sort of semi circle around the two to ensure the visitor couldn't escape. James Hook stopped a few feet in front of the young man, and bowed beautifully. "A pleasure to make your acquaintance," he said in a kind voice. "It seems you are in need of some assistance...? Just what are you doing on this island, all alone, if I might ask?" he asked the young man in a voice of mock concern.

Peter couldn't help being relieved despite the men's odd form of dress. It did make him a little nervous how the others partially encircled him, but he was willing to overlook it in lieu of the situation. He was an unfamiliar face it was understandable. And their leader was being quite courteous to him. Feeling it was only polite to do so he returned Hook's grand gesture by inclining his back a little, too shy to make a full bow. "You all have no idea how relieved I am to see someone else. I honestly haven't the slightest clue as to how I got here. I mean...well I went to sleep and this is where I woke up. It so strange...I thought I saw a faerie...." He laughed and ran a hand through his sun bleached hair, a boyish expression momentarily inhabiting his face. "It sounds ridiculous doesn't it? I'm sorry. Perhaps you could it least tell me where we are?"
(sorry for the suck. Am watching Red Dragon. Tink and Lost boys soon if people don't show up. ^^ I feel bad you have so many characters.)
