So I use konqueror as my web browser of choice. Awhile ago after the layout change iirc konqueror started spontaneously dieing, tracked that down to something to do with gaia's javascript so I set it to reject javascript from:
s.gaiaonline.com
www.gaiaonline.com
gaiaonline.com
*.gaiaonline.com
and adblocked anything from:
s.gaiaonline.com
To post this I had to disable adblock and set all my javascript policies to accept. So has anyone had any issues with Gaia crashing your web browser? anything that helped? and browsing with javascript enabled seems five time slower then with it disabled.
Edit: It appears that with just the adblock filter and rejecting javascript from *.gaiaonline.com i can still post? but in theory that should be the same as it was with everything else blocked cause * is a wildcard?

For reference what version of Konqueror are you using?
I have 3.5.9 and 4.1.1 install and will test out different things there, it may also be worth while to bring this up with Gaia's staff so any findings we make that they can fix they should know about it. Also if we can't solve the problem then I will open a bug report to the KDE devs and link back to it so anyone with an account at kde.org (it is free) can help and vote for it.

Well I wasn't able to get the menus to work with ether version of Konqueror I've tried with Adblock on and off and different javescript settings but it did find the following errors:

Konqueror 3.5.9, Blocking the Javascript stops the crashes, but also stops my posting lol

I don't have a problem with Konqueror crashing on Gaia Online, then again I can't get past the Login Success page because the menus don't work. I'll see if any of the Gaia staff can help figure this out once I find a place to post the issue at.

Although there are plans of merging KHTML (Konqueror's web rendering engine) and Webkit (Safari's web rendering engine) this will improve Konquerors compatibility with more sites but the site has to render under webkit for it to make any difference. The big problem is that this could take years before we see anything from this, and I would prefer not to wait this long for Gaia to work.

Can you run Konqueror 3.5.9 from the CLI and go to http://www.gaiaonline.com and go until you run into your first problem, whether it be posting or trying to use the menu or post and see if Konqueror prints any debugging information and errors and paste them. I'm doing the same in 4.1.1, so we can see if we can find out more information about the problem.

IIRC it just dies with no output, but it can't hurt to try that again(its been a long long time since I bothered with this lol), The no posting is cause of blocking Javascript if javascript is blocked from gaia it doesn't die. So I think gaia is triggering a serious bug in Konquerors Javascript engine
