last monday i had left the house to run to the pharmacy to pick up my meds...since i knew i would be gone for like only 10-15 minutes so i didnt turn on the house alarm...when i got back i walked in on someone attempting to rob my house...i chased him around yelling but he got out and the cops havent caught him yet...but now i am afraid if all 3 of us leave the house unattended...im ok being alone in it or being out of it as long as at least one person is in it...is it normal to react like this or am i overreacting? its making the other 2 people i live with irritated...

No, I don't think you're overreacting at all.
I'd imagine it would be traumatic to walk in on your house being robbed, and after experiencing something like that, it's perfectly normal to be afraid of something like that happening again.
If it's really bothering the people you live with, would it help at all to sit them down, and explain why you're a little on edge? You've been through a different experience than they have--you were actually present during the event, and that makes things a whole lot more difficult for you. I actually think you've been very courageous during this, as I'm fairly certain I'd be terrified.
Good Luck, and I hope the cops catch the guy that did this.

I hate it when people just tell me to take my meds and be good. It doesn't work that way....
but I don't think you're overreacting at all.

I'd suggest keeping a cellphone with you and getting a thing of pepper spray.

i had my cell phone in my pocket but with having him right there when i went in, there really wasnt time to use it...i set the alarm buttons off so that the alarm company would call the police and once he was gone i called 911...ive had pepper spray b4 when i was taking the bus back and forth to college but it is not something i would want to be spraying in my house cuz it can affect any living thing in the area of it and that would include me and my roommates and the animals...im not into firearms either cuz i am likely to decide to use it if i get mad suicidal one day...i just dont like how they are acting as if i am reacting to it the way i am just cuz i have depression and stuff...like they wont act that way cuz they r not "crazy" like i am

Yeah, guns are not (NOT) a good idea in a household where there is mental illness. They also actually increase the likelyhood that a robbery will be violent.
I don't think you're overreacting, but having been scared away, I don't think that the robberguy is going to come back.

I don't think you're overreacting at all. I think you should give it time, and you'll be OK again. It probably depends on the area in which you live, but it's extremely unlikely that the same burglar or any burglar will return.

I don't think you're overreacting. My mom's like that all the time; the person that tried to break into our house was my uncle o.o;;. So my mom's kind of freaked out about it. Just make sure the door's locked when someone leaves the house unattended. Whatever makes you feel like its safe aside from automatic machine guns.

You're definitely not overreacting. Paranoia and fear like you described is normal.
