I have a question. So if Squall and Rinoa are paired up...and so are Irvine and Selphie....Does that mean Zell and Quistis are too?

Well, I doubt it's never been brought up, but not everybody has to have a pairing. Especially not necessarily with each other. Irvine and Selphie, even, aren't canon (though there are plenty of hints). They're 17 and 18, right? They've got plenty of time to find someone after the game ends. smile

I wouldn't say that. Zell and Quistis have completely different demeanors. If anything, the game leaves hints of Quistis liking Squall.

Hints?! rofl
Ahem... Ravenwolf has a excellent point. Not everyone should be paired or tried to twist to it. Witch brought one thing to my mind. I'd like to find more fanfic that is not about making pairings.

I didn't want to say anything more suggestive for fear that someone would jump out and say "Hey!! That's not true she never liked him!" And I agree. It seems that now many fans (not to generalize) focus more on relationships and less on the actual story. And now we also see alot of "I like he/she because they're hot". It's dissapointing stare

I always preferred to see it as Quistis actually said it: She thought she liked him, but realized she didn't. Of course, that could also be total bull.

But then, you rarely see any worthwhile movies, books, and so on without romance. I don't know whether that's bad, but I don't think it means there can't be a story. Although I definitely know what you mean, as that is very often the case with fanfics. Ugh, but I hate pairing people up just because they're both hot.

Of course, I've seen some really unlikely pairings work surprisingly well.

I'd focus bit more on variety on relationships. But without meaning to hurt anyone or say this as a flamer, most people who write fanfic are too young and inexperienced to have much variety in stories. I'm interested seeing honor, duty, outside expectations, family/friend relationships affecting storylines. But that makes stories quite complicated and wide. It's easier just to concentrate on two or few more people.

I've seen such pairing as Yuffie and Vincent work well, despite my skepticism. It depends much on the wits and common sense of the writer.

Ok...what I was actually getting at, was that it would be kind of funny and sick if Zell wound up with Quists. And yes, I know that Quists hints at the fact that she likes Squall. And of course...I'm not one of those fans who focuses mainly on the relationships of the game

Don't worry Killer Calm. We've been talking just on general level. Speculating is interesting anyway. I could come up motives for such pairing as Quistis and Zell, but I can't personally see it being anything more than sex and games.

Aww.....Well, I can't think of any reasons why those two would be together. In fact, I can't see Quists with anyone rofl

Haha, that's very true. Yes I was referring to the conversation she had with him in Garden, I'm sure you knew.

Eh, you can tell she likes him, but Squall doesn't want anything to do with her.

Yeah, he sees her as nothing more than an instructor and possibly friend. To bad, Quistis was good looking ;D

She was ok.....Her and Selphie...I just couldn't stand them. It was like it took ages to get them to level up
