ok i know its a little blunt but thats my theory and im sticking with it.. this is why i feel that sword characters need no skill to master at all (and there cheap, excluding link seeeing as how he was horribly nerfed)

REASONS

-first of all, they all have long ranged attacks (it is there weapon..) ----second they have great strength and what lacks in strength recovers in speed/range
-have great speed, what lacks in speed is filled in by strength and range..

- my 3 yr old cousin can beat everyone she fought against online with marth/ike/meta knight, but cant even play with other characters (though this could be just play style and luck online)
-so far everyone i know can play as a sword character as soon as they pick them up..
-marth is top tier.. (top tier my a**, its his uber cheapness and good looks 0,o)
-ike is a powerhouse and no one can argue with me!
-pit can spam side B..
-2 words for meta knight = Spam A
- marth is kickass with his speed, ability to combo from a pretty good range, and hes strong.. (this in my opinion does not mean hes a good character, it means he is cheap.. )
- marth and ike can DEFINATELY beat boss battle mode faster than mario/diddy kong/bowser

Hold your flaming because..
im not saying everyone that uses them is a noob/ HAS no skill , i am saying that it requires no skill to use them, and even a 3 yr old can play as them, not to mention they have cheap stats. also if you are good at the game and you play as them i am not saying something like "you are only good because you use sword characters" i am saying that sword chars are boosted by Your skills, for instance a noob marth can beat a noob mario , but a good player marth will wreck a noob mario, while a great/pro marth (if you can call yourself pro marth since everyone should be..) vs a noob mario will not only wreck them they will have a strange ability to use marth's fatality to end the game and innerly (is that a word) rape the other player due to the level of supremecy ( ok so i exaggerated a little bit stare )

so those are my opinions..sorry about the rant but i just had to get this off my shoulders, everyone that beats me with marth says they are so great and im uber noob but when i rechallenge them and tell them to try a different character (multiple times..) they lose.. so its annoying

so what your saying is that there good starter characters? i personally dont use weaponed characters, but they do need some skill to play with them real well. i use more short ranged characters like the great and mighty weegi!!!! and lucario and wolf and... well i can pretty much play as anyone... execpt snake and olimar, i just dont like them, there no fun to play with, oh and rob. hes too unorthidox for me
