First off, allow me to introduce myself. I am Kiyoshi Toshihiro, moderator and resident graphics designer at Darkwind Village. It has long been a goal of mine to see to it that everyone expresses their own thoughts about one another and themselves through a form of art in our guild. Finally, I can make this true and evident. This is a section where you can let your creativity and imagination wander. Even if you aren't an artist, you may still consider posting pics here. As the title states, this forum is for fanart and concept pics. Which means, if the sketch doesn't pertain to the guild, please post it somewhere else. Below is a list of rules and regulations for this section, divided into categories:

arrow Rules
arrow Do's and Don'ts
arrow Backgrounds
arrow Profiles and Full Body shots
arrow Animations
arrow Tips and Critique

Updates

9/24: Well, I got the section up and running. Working on drawing a few people, including Midori, Fate, and Orta...In the meantime, post your drawings too!

9/25: Just finished with Orta's full body picture. I'll have it uploaded as soon as I can find a working scanner. I really liked how it turned out. Hope you all like this section!

9/26: Working on Fate. He's proving to be a pain to draw! (no offense! sweatdrop ) I should have it done by tomorrow. I still can't get my scanner up and running until I purchase Microsoft Office for the XP, 'cause I need my college stuff done! Then I can hook up the new computer, transfer the old data, and we will have creativity!

9/30: Finished Fate. He's looking awesome. For those that want their profile drawn, please PM me. Otherwise, I'll just be sketching those that appear in the guild most often. Onto Midori...

10/14: I haven't updated! Shame on me! Well, my new computer is up and running (at about 3400+ in my processor alone! 4laugh ) and I don't have a working scanner. ****! But I still have my webcam...so I'll try it that way for now.

10/20: Midori is done! Fate...your hair is impossible!! *chews on paper* I'll have the pics scanned/photographed in tomorow, hopefully. I now turn my attention to those, and ONLY those who have posted in the guild recently. If you have not had any activity within the last week or so, I WILL NOT BE DRAWING YOU UNTIL YOU POST! Sorry to blackmail, but it gets pretty boring waiting for responses... rolleyes

11/15: Ok. My scanner apparently doesn't like to run on Windows XP, so I'll be using the school's scanner for now. It'll cost me, but I think it's a small price to pay to have you guys view my art. As for recent drawings, none. I've been pretty busy lately. Sorry. I'll try and get a few more people done, that way I won't feel as bad... confused

Rules

Ok. If a system of order and security is to be established in a society, one must maintain law and a judicial system, correct? Which brings me to my next point: rules to follow if you want to post a pic, or simply request to be in one:

1. Please don't post any nudity. We understand that it is considered art, but we aren't that kind of guild. (plus Gaia's admins would have my head! sweatdrop )

2. No excessive gore or violence. I can concur that we are a shinobi society and that conflict is to be expected, but no one wants to be staring down the spinal shaft of someone's neck, with half their eyeball strewn across the ground in front of them.

3. Valid format. The red 'X' is becoming more and more frequent nowadays. If it appears in this section, consider it deleted until it can be seen. In other words, we want to see the picture, not the denial...Oh, and please post it as the image itself, and limit it to at most 3 per post.

4. When doing a critique, please be fair and nice. Use constructive criticism instead of vulgar slang and offhanded banter. Make this a learning experience for both newbies and veterans alike.

5. When requesting to be in a pic, please do not bother the person with repetitive PM's and constant bickering about laziness. Some people have a life outside of Gaia, and can't help that their schedule doesn't allow for free time or much thinking...

6. (optional) Personally, I'm a perfectionist. So when it comes to posting things, I like them to look nice. That's why I'm going to ask (you don't have to if you don't want to, just a little ornate thing to do) you all to put pictures into the "Ornate" format and critiques into "Letter" format. Also, in critiques, state the person's name and drawing you are judging...so they know what they can improve on.

Tips & Critique

This is the Tips & Critique section. From here, I will judge your pictures and sketches from a variety of angles including contrast, perception, depth, line value, shading, etc. Of course, we all will have our own opinions on each other's art, but only on Fridays. Check here for my many tips on how to improve your hand at drawing...

[[Delete this if it is interfering with your posts. X.x; ]]

I'm scared to post my art. Dx I'm not very good at all with hand-drawn but I'm somewhat good at pixel dolling. Anyways, here's a sketch I did of Midori a looooooooong time ago. Please, no in-depth critque please. I already know it sucks. x.X;

Makiko Midori [Sketch]

Oh and Kiyoshi-san, you might want to put in the rules whether or not you want the image or just a link. ^_^; Only a suggestion.

EDIT: Awwww, thanks Kiyoshi-san. It's not my best. I'll try to come up with something in the two weeks I'll be grounded. Dx Oh, I need to make an announcement about that. x.x;

About Makiko Midori [Sketch]:

Excellent job with the flow effect! The hair matches well with the flow of the air, as does the fabric on the back ribbon. You may want to tighten her up a little in the back, as the wind is moving against all portions of her body and therefore, pushing the material away. Other than that, good job!
