Alright, so I figured I'd go ahead and set up my art thread. It'll be a bit messy right now... I gotta find me banner for Gaia I made with me artwork in in (why be I talkin' like a pirate?) Anyways, I'll update over time, newest pieces showing up on this post, and older ones under it will be linked to the image. (If I made any sense there...) Lets get started! (More art at the very bottom of this first post)

aww, the bottom one is a cute character design. ^-^

the top one is nice too. you should add some highlights and more shading. my boyfriend taught me that i should use different depths of shading to give my drawings more contrast and well...depth ^-^

you have potential!

Why thank you! It was my first GIMP piece, so I basically had no idea what I was doing. I'm still learning as I go. I'm gonna start trying to reference from other pieces to see how they've done things and try to copy that style so my art has more depth than it does already.

you should also look at nude models with lighting as long as that stuff doesn't offend you or anything O-o. it'll give you a detail of how light should hit the body. i rarely look at anime references with the exception of one artist i love. i also try to look at art books for models when it comes to posing. even pictures of yourself outdoors can give you an idea of how to highlight and shade because natural sunlight is the best!

I like the first one, but there's something about the bottom, I don't like the smuge-ness, but the background is cool. :]

I agree. When I did the smudge on the left, it looked great... The right side just came out weird unfortunately...

I like the colours you used for shading on the first piece, but you should use more shading and as others said, add highlights. The reason I like the colours you used is because they look like a realistic shading colour. When you look at the shadows on your skin, they look way more brown than grey and you portrayed that. ; 3;

I only Have to Say Keep at Your Coloring,

Well, consider this... I've only got twenty four colors to work with, and they're not twenty four shades of one... I've got one or two of some colors, and four or five of others... gonk Anyways... New piece is up...
