Did you like this book the better than the Dark Elf Trilogy? Why or why not? Which characters do you like? Not like? Did you like how Salvatore created characters that everyone can relate to? What minor character did you like? Not like? Did you like the Ten-Towns? The Barbarians? The Dwarves?

awww well its hard to say if i liked it more or not. but i did love the battle of ten towns and bruenor smashing a staff over big dummy's head. lol

I enjoyed the Icewind Dale Trilogy, but the Dark Elf Trilogy is my favorite. I have a secret love affair with dark elves. I mean the battle for Ten Towns was great, but it doesn't beat the return of Zaknafein smile

Belwar was awesome. I sort of liked the dwarves when they lived in Icewind Dale. They seemed to get cocky later on when they moved to Mithril Hall

He doesn't fight but that's because halfings aren't made to fight. only to pilfer. ^_^

Hm... well, I just finished The Crystal Shard a couple weeks ago. I definitely like the Dark Elf trilogy better than Icewind Dale so far, but that's not to say that I won't change my mind. I really liked the ending, when Bruenor pretended to be dying, and Drizzt got mad, and then the last few pages were pretty funny. And Entreri made his appearance. Which was awesome.
I definitely like how Salvatore creates characters that people can relate to. It makes everything so much more vivid. And I think it really helps with developing role playing skills.
I didn't really like Regis. Maybe it's just because I've never really liked halflings, although it kinda seems like Salvatore made halflings more of a hobbit rip-off than they should be. That doesn't bother me so much though since I don't like Lord of the Rings, but I think it's just a combination of things that I don't really like about Regis.
I didn't like then Ten-Towns people. They were a bit too snobbish for me. Although, out of all of them, Cassius was probably the one I liked most.
The barbarians were interesting, to say the least. I liked them. But I liked the dwarves the most. Makes me want to play a dwarf in D&D, which is something I have never done, even though I have about... 25 characters. Maybe...
Hm... this is getting to be long. I think I'll leave it at that.
