Ryn sniffed the air lightly. There was something different today. Something just a bit off. He really couldn't place it, having never encountered this sort of thing before, but it definatly unnerved him. Usually that took a lot, but today he was on edge, figity and alert. He would have rather just laid down on a rock and fell asleep in the sun, but he was just too out of it to do such a lazy activity. Furious with himself for not knowing what was wrong, he paced back and forth around the clearing, pausing every so often to sniff the air again, and check to make sure he wasn't going to run into a rock. That would have really vexed him.

Finally he just sat down next to a large tree, bored. Whatever was annoying him would come make itself clear eventually, that would be a classic textbook case of just his luck. Idily, he trailed his tail on the ground, hearing the bracken snap and pop.

Pausing, Chronos' eyes swept the area as Kau, a ways behind him, bounded to catch up. Her attention previously taken by a few stray butterflys.
Breaking his concentration he turned to glance down at the kit, huffling slightly from the jog. Wrapping a whispy tail around her she grunted lightly as he hefted her up and upon his back. Her muzzle almost automatically nuzzling into the back of his neck, paws comming up to secure herself in his long mane.
Shaking his head to loosen her grip, earrings clinking delicatly together, Chronos changed their direction, continuing on at quick but graceful pace.

Peeking her nose from Chronos' mane, Kau watched attentivly as the landscape passed by. Grabbing Chronos' attention with small gasp, the Time God flicking his ear back in question. Whispering, green eyes widening slightly, Kau gripped Chronos tighter. "Cho'nos... Theres a munsterr."

Turning to survey the area, key-holed eyes glanced stone colored fur. Shushing the kit he moved forward, tail curling and uncurling behind him, tracing invisable images intot he air.

Ryn snapped his head up, growling slightly as he heard something that was not a usual nature sound. It was, a voice. He strained his ears to hear further what the voice was saying, but it had fallen silent. Someone was definatly coming near, he could feel pawsteps vibrating. He sniffed, and reeled in shock, whatever was coming this way had an ancient air about them so old, why Ryn didn't even think it was of this world. He sat there bristling, ears back.

"Who's there." He asked in a rough voice, mumbling a bit through the doorknocker in his mouth. Not that he expected whatever it was to answer, definantly not something this strange.

Chronos' ears mearly swivled forward at the faint sound of a rummbling growl, not once breaking his pace. Silencing Kaus' sulky 'told you so' with a breif motion from his tail.

"No one of much importance," The odd males voice was gravel compaired to his own, soft and almost flowing. Studying the other, Chronos' eyes paused on the males own - empy and sightless - before continuing to the rest of him, eyebrow raising at the twisted and gnarled branches that sprouted from the other. Eyes finally comming to rest once again on the others. A small 'whuf' of air came from Kau as she lept from his back, curiosity bright in green eyes as she scooted closer, to get a better look at the ulaya.

"What is your name, ulaya?" Admittedly, he was just as curious of this ulaya, though not as zealous perhaps as Kau herself was. He had plenty of time to figure the mortal out.

Ryn, swiveled an ear, a little surprised. This creature that was talking to him, was it really an ulaya? He couldn't see the other male, of course, but the air that reverberated from him, and the underlaying authority in his voice. Could he really be of this world. He stiffened as he heard a light thump, but sniffing a little, he realized it was a small kit. The little one was probably trying to get a closer look at him. He frowned a bit, and scooted back a step. The only kit he had ever met, had tumbled down a hill and knocked him off a cliff. He was quite aware that these little ones backed quite a lot of punch.

He turned his attention back to the bigger male, and was a little irritated, and confused. More irritaed that he was confused. Ryn just couldn't figure him out, definatly nothing like he had ever encountered. He spat the ring out of his mouth, and it rolled a few feet away from him, toward the little kit. He said, "My name is Ryn." He took a mouthful of water from a puddle and swished it around in his mouth, he hated the taste of metal. Even though this strange ulaya and his kit had inturupted his afternoon, Ryn was too set on figuring him out to be grumbling about it.

Kau quickened her pace, scootching even closer as the strange ulaya backed away from her. Almost there...
She jumped, squealing in suprise, tripping over her own feet and tumbling back to hide herself behind Chronos.
An idiginant squeak bubbled up from her throat as the god stepped forward, toward the male, but most importantly away from blocking her from said male. Huffing she skipped after, green eyes glaring daggers at the bronze metal ring laying innocently a few paces away. Heisitating, she glanced once more at Chronos before veering off and towards the knocker.

"Ryn," Settling himself closer to the other Chronos nodded, a force of habit, before answering the males unasked question, "I'm Chronos," he paused and, if he were any other, would have felt a tinge of akwardness. "God of Time." One usually hadnt a need to announce their titles. Even the most rouge of ulayas knew of their gods and the stories told of them. But this one...
Chronos had no doubts in his mind Ryn could sense him, however he was not one to beat around the bush. At least not for long.

Tilting his head forward a bit, mane tumbling from his shoulders, Chronos glanced again at the others sightless eyes. "You are new to these boundaries are you not? I have yet to hear about you in these parts. And I would think I would have..."

Ryn couldn't help twitching his mouth in the far off hint of a smile as he heard the little kit move forward to investigate the brass knocker. This kit didn't seem as dangerous as the other one, but if she was hanging around with this male, then there had to be something going on in her little head. He would be wary, to say the least. He had no desire to be pushed off anymore cliffs.

He froze as he heard the name, everyone had, even him. The time god, Chronos. THe stuff of legends, folklore to say the least. Both his ears flicked forward, once, then flicked back. He was surprised, to say the least. Never in his wildest dreams had he thought he would meet Chronos. Ryn was about to scoff and denounce him as a liar, then the thought of the ancient and powerful air that Chronos gave off. It certaintly fit, though why the little kit was hanging around with the time god Ryn couldn't figure out.

He didn't know if he was supposed to bow or address Chronos in any special way. Not that he would, as that would be sinking beneath his principals. Instead he just dipped his head a fraction of an inch downward, acknologing the fact that a god was standing in front of him. He answered, a little hesitant, "Yes, I have not been to these parts before." He added as an afterthought, with a slight bit of monotone humor in his voice, "I would have remembered, I would hope."

Chronos paused in his reaction to guage Ryns' own waiting for the enevitable babbling and bowing that came, without fail, with his introductions. A smile spread across his muzzle as the male simply nodded in awknowledgement. Interesting... Easing himself down to lie, casting a pointed glance to Kau - the kit sheepishly undigging the knocker she had begun to cover with dirt - before addressing Ryn again, blue eyes sparking with something akin to intrest. "I'd hope I would as well," Leaning forward Chronos ghosted a whispy tail across one of the males 'wings' the branches feeling as real as any other under his touch.

Ryn knew that he had done something out of the ordinary, but he wasn't sure if that was good or bad. Either way, he was ready if the god decided to pulverize him for his lack of respect. Though for some reason, Ryn knew that that probably wouldn't happen. Probably, that is. He had noticed the kit covering his door knocker with dirt, and figured that if it was covered in dirt, it might taste better than worn brass. He did almost crack a smile as he heard the little kit begin to uncover it, and imagined that she was quite red in the cheeks. He mentally reeled in shock as he felt the gods tail fleeting roll over his wing branches. Ryn willed himself not to jump up, and instead stayed still as stone, freezing all his movement. even holding his breath in. He knew if he moved even a bit he would move a whole lot more.

Chronos 'hum'd, pulling back from the other, tail wrapping around the gold-filled hourglass by his feet. It had been awhile since he had met a ulaya with such a reaction to mere touch, and he was loath to puch the other too far. breaking his gaze from Ryn, Chronos turned to beckon towards the small kit, giving the other male a moment to collect himself without the gods watchful eyes upon him.

Pink still tinting her cheeks, Kau bounded her way back towards the two males, knocker now hooked around one of her small horns. Shuffling around Chronos as she neared, her green eyes never left Ryn as she planted herself firmly between the gods paws. Nose scrunching after a moment of silence. "You have a tree on you, munsterr~"

Ryn felt the god's tail pull away, and his entire body relaxed from the tight tension it had been in, and he hadn't even realized it. He let out a long slow breath, then felt around him to resume his bearings. He couldn't help twitching an ear in amusment as he heard his door knocker twirl around the small kits horns. He had the nagging question in the back of his mind, why did such a small kit hang around with such a 'rough' crowd? He took another breath, calming himself down.

He flicked his tail, hearing the bracken crackle. He said, with the smallest quirky smile on his mouth, "Yes I may have a tree on me little kit, but why do you have a goats horns on yours?" He knew that the little kit was born with them, but he wanted to hear her explanation. He was quite sure it would provide a little amusment.

Kau eyes widened, almost comically, at Ryns question. "Nu-uh~! Kau has Kaus' horns! Not Goats' horns!" Huffing Kaus' cheeks puffed to a pout, eyebrows snitting together. "Munsterr cant see that Kaus' horns are Kaus' then munsterr isnt looking!" 'humph'ing, pout still firmly in place she turned her nose up and away from Ryn indignantly, knocker completely forgotten.

His eyes never left Ryn, taking in and putting to memory every movement of the other male, every expression change, no matter how subtle. The unasked question hanging in the air until Chronos decided to grab onto it. He certainly wasnt the first to wonder. "Daughter," nodding his head down towards Kau. "Shes my daughter... removed from time."

Ryn raised an eyebrow at the kits type of speech. The use of third person was really quite interesting, though not uncommon in kits. He was quite amused at the little kits vhelment denying that her horns were those of a goat. And so her name was Kau, quite an interesting name, though Ryn figured it fit quite well. An interesting name for an interesting kit. He jolted out of his revere as Chronos began to speak again.

"Ripped-" He said raggidly, the stoney mask of expression torn off, "Ripped from time?" He quickly wiped the rapid expressions that were moving across his face. Kau's life was not her own, but in the hands of this god. It was, terrible. "She'll never grow up, will she." He said softly, not in a question form, but a statement. Kau was quite like him in a way, life turned upside down, not of their own choice. The question now was why? Why would Chronos do such a thing. She seemed happy though, not hating Chronos one bit.

Chronos' eyes narrowed. Just a fraction, but it was enough, coming from the stoic god. Shuffling slightly between Chronos' paws, Kau stretched her head back to get an upside-down view of him, wincing as a horn screeched across the clock embedded his chest. Green eyes questioning as they met with blue. "Mortal," Chronos' eyes unlocked from Kau to settle again on Ryn. "She is already more grown than any you'll meet. More so than even most gods." Wrapping a whispy tail around the kit he pulled her closer, eyes hardening once again. "Dont let your mind assume whatever it wills to be true. ...Shes' free to leave when she wishes." A tint of distant sadness worked it's way from the gods throat at that thought. Should the day come when Kau is taken from him, wether by a mate or whim, he couldnt imagine having to bear with the silence from so many centuries ago again.

Large eyes stayed connected on Chronos a moment before the kit let out an annoyed huff, face scrunching to a pout at being talked about.

Ryn studied the interaction between the god and Kau. Just that simple movement of wraping a tail around the tiny kit, such an innocent thing to do, showed to Ryn all the love and protection Chronos felt for her. Even if it was against his own principals to take kits out of the space time continium, Ryn could not disagree that there was a better life for Kau than the one she had now. Still though why, then Ryn remembered folklore. The god of time was the first being in the universe, mortal or immortal. Long created before the other gods even came into existance. Eons and Eons before...

Eons of time before anything else mortal or immortal came to exist, eons of time before any interaction. Before a sound, before a voice, before anything possible. Ryn shifted his weight until he was sitting on his haunches. He said simply, "You were lonely." With no one to talk to, no one to just say hello every once in a while. Ryn couldn't help but wonder if his life was a much watered down badly copied over version of Chronos's, he had some interaction, but not enough to make him feel whole, not by a long shot.
