Lucky Star is by the creators of Full Metal Panic, as well as The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.
It is perfectly logical they'd look alike.
...at least you have influence.

While I do agree that they do have some similarities, it's their differences that really define the characters. For one, Konata has a much more moe appearance- also, she has an ahoge (which whoever uploaded that picture, has suspiciously cropped the image of Konata to omit her ahoge), which while Kaname has some points in her hair, she lacks such a pronounced lock of hair.

I agree that Konata and Kaname Chidori are look-alikes.
When I first saw a picture of Konata, I thought that someone had drawn Kaname Chidori in chibi form. I hadn't heard of Lucky Star yet, But I was already a FMP fan.
