Ambulating... treading... no dragging. Yeah, dragging works. Dragging along the hall of doors, DJ finally stumbles upon his assigned room. His legs eagerly await the disarmament of his luggage, and DJ does well to give them that relief. Without really taking in what the room looks like, he tosses his stuff towards the center. It lands on the carpeted floor with a loud thudding sound.
The sound does bring his attention to the floor. Wow, carpet. Nice. He hasn't really been in a dorm for school before, so he didn't entirely know what to expect. He imagined it to be like some sort of cheap hotel room, but this... It actually looks pretty decent. Like a super hotel or somethin'. There's a well made bed of the twin size. The pillows look fluffy, yet firm. The sheets look clean and inviting. Next to his bed his own desk of study, which should prove useful during the late hours of the night. The walls, instead of being painted a standard color of white, is coated in a peaceful light blue coloring. It actually reminds him of the room he used to sleep in when he was a baby. So he's got a bed, a desk... what's that? A laptop? He's never had a computer to call his own in his entire life, and here they are just giving him one? This school may not be all that bad. The room itself is nice enough, but there are also a few little pleasant trinkets that just set the place off. I'd normally go into detail about them all, but I really don't feel like it, and doubt they'd have any real significance to the actual story, so to sum it up, the room is pretty cool. Moving on...
Is it any mere coincidence that the next song on DJ's shuffled MP3 player is "True Paradise" by Ark Storm? Well, to him, no. You see, DJ is a firm believer in things happening for a reason. Some reasons are hidden, some are just flat out blatant, like this. He often pictures himself as a part of some crazy story of sorts, like someone of a higher power is writing out every move. That being said, he's also an avid believer of free will. Oh the contradictions of this boy's mind. Somehow or another, he rationalizes everything in proper order, an order that only he can understands.
As much as he'd love to stay and enjoy the surprisingly coolness of the his high school dorm room, it's still his first day, and school's still supposed to be the primary something or another thing that should be going on here. It's a weekday, and school is indeed in session. Now it is his first day, so he'll be a little lost, but he'll find his way in no time. What he should do now is head to the front office and see what classes he has. Oddly enough, he didn't really sign up for anything, so right now, he's lost in the midst of uncertainty.
"Office," he states aloud. Yes, that is his next destination.

After making his way from the halls yet again, he discovers his dorm room to be open to the public. Dang, didn't even close the door. A careless error. Well, it was probably made due to a constant problem of his: thinking faster than he acts.
Upon entrance, he checks to see if everything's still in tact. Back home, if he were to be so careless, more than often, he'd find the whole room cleaned out. Thankfully, that wasn't the case here. His luggage is still in the same spot he left it, and his sword is still wrapped up the way he had it.
And now what? What's he supposed to do. With the schedules not out yet, the classes aren't in session. Since that's the case, he's got a lot of free time on his hands. I guess he could wonder the halls some more... No, I've had about enough of that for the day. How about going outside? I would, but I don't feel like it. So what're you gonna do then? I don't know, you're the narrator. Pick something. Well, since you asked so nicely... How about sitting here doing nothing? That's original... Take it or leave it. Fine, works for me.
Now that that's settled... DJ wanders the corners of his room to bask in for the second time the odd coolness of his room. He has everything he needs for pretty much anything. As an artist, he could sit at his desk and pull out his torn up sketch book and doodle. As a couch potato, he could sit in front of the TV and watch it. (Power on, of course.) Shoot, the bed even looks inviting... and is that a boombox? Yes, it is. Quit breaking the fourth wall. Sorry. You did it again...
Casting his attention to the radio with large speakers, he strolls towards it. Carrying around an MP3 player gets kinda annoying at times, with all that noise being blasted into your ears and all. Why go through that when one could easily hook the player up to the speakers and blast the noise everywhere else. It's easier on the ears (sorta), and just way cooler. After doing so, the player changes songs again. "Fire in the Sky" by Darkest Hour shows up on the digital readout. A tranquil song for a tranquil setting.

Found sitting at his desk, DJ simply basks in the intricate tunes of his music. Quite a few songs have passed since he's arrived, and during this time, he hasn't really done much of anything. Just sitting and listening.
The song being blasted... well "blasted isn't too great of a word. DJ isn't one of those who likes their music loud. Sure, he'd like to hear it, but blasting... Nah, not all to much. That's not to say he doesn't do it at times, but it's very rare. So back on topic... The song being played now is Moonlyght's "Ride on Ice Storms." Another fairly tranquil listen. Prog metal's a good genre for those who enjoy good easy going music with a noted high level of skill. It takes real artists, artists who know what they're doing, those who truly make music an art to play progressively.
Having played for about seven minutes, the great work of art comes to an end. The next randomly shuffled song showing up is from Nujabes. He's a pretty good rapper. He even did some stuff for Samurai Champloo. In fact, that's how a great majority of his fans know of him. The song "Feather" has a nice easy going beat. It actually reflects the general topic of feeling for DJ at this moment.
Sitting in wait... nothing seems to cast a bother his way. He just sits and enjoys the sweet sanctity of peace.

How long has it been? Man, DJ doesn't even know. From the looks of it, he drifted off into dream land. Time has passed, at least according to the weather. It's morning, now.
Interesting wake up call he gets. His MP3 player's been goin' all night, and now it looks like the current theme of the moment is Firewind's I am the Anger. Meh, I suppose that's a good thing to get up to. Nothin' like a good ol' jolly helping of power metal to start one's day, right?
Ah yes, it is a new day. The sun seems to ostentatiously make sure of that. It's brilliant rays peering through his window. Oh well, it's not that much of a bother. In fact, it's sort of a welcoming solace. A little sunlight's good for you after all.
New day means new classes. DJ finally gets to see what this school's all about. Hopefully he wont get any stuck up teachers who think they know everything, but even if he does, it shouldn't be that big a deal. The only situation he really worries about is getting a teacher who really doesn't know a thing. Most students love those teachers. Classes are typically a breeze with them, but in the end, nothing's learned.
Whatever this new day may bring, DJ feels as if he's ready enough for it. He's as ready as he'll ever be. After the morning routine of daily hygiene and such, you know wash the face, brush the teeth, take a shower, yaddayadda... he gathers his backpack full of empty notebooks, pencils, papers, pens, and such, and starts on his way to the first class of the day...
whatever that is.
