Gideon was pretty damn pleased. He and Zavier had just gotten out of their art class, where the redhead had excelled [his curly haired twin not-so-much] and he was excited to go back the next day. Of course, there didn't seem to be many kids at this school at all yet, and although the cafeteria was fully staffed, it was otherwise empty.
Except for the Gallagher-Burdock twins, of course. The two of them were sitting at a long lunch table, Gideon idly sketching his brother's pouty face while verbally encouraging him to partake of the surprisingly good food. Gideon had a tofu-burger [he was a vegetarian] and his brother the beef equivalent.

'Beef equivalent' indeed. It didn't look like beef other then the fact that it was brown and grouped together. He was absolutely sure it tasted delicious, really, but it wasn't...
"It looks like tree vomit." He complained anyway, lower lip poking even further into a POUT. Gideon was given a long suffering look but... Zav reached for the fork anyway. His 'burger' was forked up and he whimpered.
Mouth closed! Meat in mouth. Zav chewed suspiciously, his nostrils flared. Finally, he swallowed.
"It tastes better then it looks. Hey, Giddy, how do you make your hand DO that? You're all good at that."

Dad had packed their lunch, claiming that he remembered cafeteria food none too fondly. The nice cafeteria lady had taken their food, he assumed to heat it up since she was now bearing two steaming plates of pizza with a huge motherly smile that unnerved him. Two slices each! He carried his out and glanced around then frowned at the almost empty cafeteria before sideglancing his twin. "Guess we go make friends?" She was better at it than him but these were boys so it looked like he was going to have to step up this time. Plopping down a few seats away, he opened his lunchbox and pulled out a thermos of blood, taking a long sip then picking an olive off and popping it into his mouth. Taking a quick peek, he nodded. "That is really good. I don't draw people too well." Following that with a bite of pizza.

She was not a happy little vampire at all...didn't like this change in school and she wasn't sure she was ever going to like it. Or she was just being stubborn to change like her mother often was and thus was going to be huffy about it. It could be the new place, or the fact that she could no longer bring her music with her that she loved so much. That hadn't stopped her from humming during math and squirming in her chair in half dance and tapping her feet. The teacher wasn't pleased.
Seated beside her brother and looking at the pizza set down she looked as he did to the other two boys that were close by...how come she was the only girl? That wasn't cool at all...boys were stupid sometimes. And she didn't have any rocks. Sometimes she wished she was the one who could wish things broken instead of her brother. "Mama said we're supposed to do that...but no sharing our drinks with them still." Curiously she watched her brother make the first move...which usually she made but she wasn't protesting this time. Lici was still being obstinate.
But refusing to be ignored as well, she added in her own two cents. "He draws really really good straight lines though." Taking a bite of pizza which had her picking a skewered mushroom off a fang a moment later.

Felicity wouldn't be too disappointed. Zavier looked rather feminine, even if he acted like a 'stupid' boy sometimes, and Gideon? Well, he was physically tough, but intelligent and kind. Nice boys, those Gallagher-Burdocks.
Gideon's black eyes were slightly wary as they took in the other pair of twins, but he smiled slightly, accepting the compliment. The truth was that he was on his way to being a really amazing artist. It was obvious in his accuracy. "Thank you." His gaze warmed slightly. "Nice to see some people other than adults, too. I'm Gideon."
A careful scenting of the air identified the subtle tang of blood, causing the redhead's curiosity to rise slightly. Still, it wasn't his business and he didn't say anything.

Oooh! A girl! Zav all but BEAMED as she sat down and plucked up his plastic wrapped twinkie that the lunch lady had also passed to him. She was pretty! And talking to them! He couldn't draw but, hey! Girl!
"Hi! I'm Zav. You're pretty. Do you want a Twinkie? I don't like them." It was a total lie but - girl! Impress the girl, yes? Yes.
And, as an afterthought. "I can dance. And sing."

"Yeah. It sucks not really seeing anyone else around here. At our other school there were lots of kids." Eating half of his pizza in companionable silence, he slanted a gaze towards the treat being offered to his sister. Lici would like this boy...he seemed to like music just like she did. And that worried Thobias for reasons he couldn't quite explain. "Thobias. And this is my sister, Felicity. What class do you have to go to next?"

Lici waved with a grin as her brother took care of introductions. It was probably better that way since boys only liked to talk to boys any -...Felicity blinked deer like. Wait…pretty? Boys said she was icky just like she thought they were stupid. Still doe eyed she looked to the Twinkie. What was a Twinkie? Well…more of what did they taste like. Mama didn’t let them have junk food too much and last time they’d questioned on the box with the yellow cream filled things, they had been told no. Cue a smile from her and a happy giggle follow by an enthusiastic nod, holding out her hand to be handed it. Didn’t snatch. “I’ve never had one.”
Taking it as it was handed over though she unwrapped it and took a bite of it, bright green eyes twinkling as they processed. “It’s good! Thank you.” Hey if he didn’t like his Twinkies and she saw him again, she’d be glad to take them off his hands. Look at this, he wanted to pass off food and he could dance and sing. "Does that mean you like music too?" Contrast to her brother....obviously school was not high on her list of subjects.

"Both of us take dance lessons, though Zavier is better at them." Gideon had no problem pointing out his brother's strengths, and smiled. "I can carry a tune well, but his singing voice gets better everyday." A pause and the boy polished off his burger, before his black eyes returned to Thobias.
"We've got science, next." A shrug. Gideon excelled in all of his courses, in a way that Zavier couldn't. The redheaded twin had more patience, and took his time completing his assignments. Zavier was equally smart, however, he rushed through most things.
