New York was a busy city, one of the most populated in the country. It made it quite a task to find a hole in the corner cafe that had less people then food selections. For Xan he had checked the yellow pages and done a little extra on his part in order to find this interesting skyscraper cafe. It was a tea house but one could easily order various full course meals if they were hungry or simply sit back and watch the view of the city while conversing over a cup of joe.

For Xan he ordered his usual peach tea and waited patiently for his guest of the night. Giving explicit directions over the phone he had hoped his guest for the night hadn't become lost. Having won during the Host auction it was only fair that he do the young man a favor at least set up a place for them to relax and enjoy each other's company.

Yawning lightly he glanced at his watch noting the time. It wouldn't be long now. He hadn't met this person yet, only given the name and contact information before contact was made by the young man over the phone. He seemed nervous and jumpy... Xan gave a soft chuckle. He was like that sometimes, took him a while to get used to being a host after all. He still had his moments of complete nervousness but at least he tried. Leaning back in his chair he waited patiently for his guest while enjoying his tea and while reading up on the latest events in the local papers.

"Wo es ist..." Kurou muttered in his native tongue, looking from the orange post-it note in his hand to the buildings in front of him. He hadn't been in New York long enough for him to have explored all the different areas. Even though he had been given a month to get settled before all the serious photo shoots began, all he'd done was find out where the local grocer was, where the train station was, and of course, get to know his new co-workers. Dandy, short for Dendrian, had a little black book filled with some of New York's hot spots. Searan's Host Club had been in it, and had looked the best because there was nothing XXX about it. Or at least it had seemed like it.

So he'd found out at much about it from Dandy as he could, which wasn't much considering the Club hadn't opened yet. He had been lucky that the day he'd gathered enough courage to go there, the Grand Opening party was well underway. He'd stuck to the shadows and simply observed, something he was good at, all the people there. One man in particular had caught his eye and Kurou had been thrilled to see that he was a host, and his attentions were for sale. He bid what little money he'd had on him and was surprised when he won. Which is how he found himself now, standing on the bustling sidewalk and feeling thoroughly lost.

Kurou sighed disheartedly and blindly walked into the first store to his left. He would just have to give the host a call and ask him yet again for directions. The change in air temperature woke him up somewhat, as did the pleasant atmosphere and the faint aroma of pastries and tea. A waiter approached him smiling benignly and welcomed him to the store he'd been trying to find. Blushing an appealing pink he asked the man if there was a man fitting the description of the Host here. The waiter seemed to mull the question over before directing him to where Xan was sitting.

He felt his face burn hotter as he took his seat, and quickly ordered his favored tea, a nice Garden Fruit mixture who's tangy bitterness would be offset by some sugar.

When the waiter left he couldn't bring himself to meet Xan's eyes, instead choosing to stare at his hands for a bit as he tried to collect himself. "Erm...Hallo. Ich hoffe, dass ich nicht zu spät bin." He said shakily, before pausing and blushing again. "Forgive me. I tend to slip into German when I'm nervous." He rubbed the back of his neck in embarrassment before starting over. "I hope I wasn't too late. Are you Thanatos, from Searan's?" He asked, hoping that the man was the person he was supposed to meet.

Xan looked up at the door when he saw a someone enter a low smile slipped across his features but they were missed by the young man who took a hurried seat. He hadn't taken a moment to look at him which was okay. Probably nervous about their date, not a problem.

Of course when the young man elapsed into the familiar German he'd grown used to from a certain German host he let out a soft chuckle. This would prove to be an interesting evening if things continued as they were. With a gentle sigh, Xan reached over the table placing his forefinger and thumb under the young man's chin to lift his head to look at him. "First don't feel ashamed or embarrassed to look at me. I won't bite." He breathed returning Kurou's personal space to him. "Secondly I am Thanatos but please call me Xan." Taking a moment to sip at his tea while observing the other he realized something in the other. "You are Kurou I assume? Nice to meet you. I hope you didn't have trouble finding the place?" He asked with genuine concern.

Kurou was a little startled to feel the others touch, but he obliged to the gentle pressure and lifted his head. His lips twitched upwards as Xan spoke and chuckled softly when he was asked if he'd gotten there alright. "I am he and I haven't been in New York long." He admitted, "My Co-workers were all too busy to show me more of this area in time for our...d-date. I'll admit to being lost and just picking a store." He paused to fiddle absently with his necklace, "I got luck enough to pick the right one." He was sure the blush that graced his cheeks wouldn't leave so long as he was out in public.

His eyes drifted towards the glass window at his side and he couldn't help the sharp inhalation at the sight. "New York really is different..." He murmured, then shook his head. "Forgive me. I am more used to Florida's semi-suburban lifestyle Though Miami, for all it's business, was very little training for here.." He trailed off, as if realizing that he was rambling, something very out of character for him.

The waiter returned just in time to give him his requested cup of tea, before bowing and returning from where he'd come from. Kurou added two packets of the pure white sugar and delicately stirred the concoction before sipping at it. It was surprisingly strong and the slight offset of the sugar gave it just the right balance he'd wanted. He couldn't help but smile at the dark pink liquid.

"Ah, my apologizes. I'd have met up with you at the club and gone sight seeing with ya if ya wanted." Xan chuckled lightly feeling a bit sheepish for not being a proper Host but what was done was done. In the long run Kurou was safe and had managed on his own. "Truth be told I'm still gettin' used to the city life." He smiled lightly. "Us country boys aren't used to all the hub-bub but it's been an interesting change of pace, I reckon." Looking out the window then back over the establishment he turned his gaze back to his guest. "Are ya hungry? We can order a full meal or something lighter if you're in the mind set of a snack." He offered while noting the tint of red to the other man's cheek. Xan remembered a time he'd blush just as much for the littlest of things. Was that such a long time ago, he wondered? Shrugging it off he sipped at his tea letting the lull of silence buy time between them. In so doing he observed intently but quietly.

"I wouldn't want to impose," Kurou said a small smile playing on his lips even as he eyed the small menu on their table. "Light or heavy, it does not matter much to me." He said after a momentary pause, "Though a salad sounds good for now." He tilted his head to one side, the bell attached to his earring rang merrily at the movement.

Kurou folded his hands on top of the table and looked a bit lost. "I hope I'm not boring you so soon." His index finger tapped a knuckle on his other hand. "I have no real experience as far as dates go." He let his eyes drop down to study his hands before raising them again. "So I'm afraid that you'll have to take the lead Herr [Mr.] Xan." His eyes held a light of uncertainty and hope. He was uncertain about the situation, even though he was steadily feeling more and more comfortable about it. Xan had yet to make him out of place and his easy going nature was soothing. He didn't feel pressured to become someone he was not.

Setting his tea down he leaned back lazily with a soft smile to his lips. "To be honest that's usually what I'm worried about. Being boring that is..." He chuckled lightly leaning his resting his elbows on the table while resting his chin on the back of his hands. "But for the record you're not boring me. I like things slow, it's how to truly get to know someone. Only fools rush in and even then they're missing the bigger picture." With a soft sigh he leaned back taking a moment to himself. "I've realized that my profession in the club are for folks who like to take things slow and easy. I can't help being a bit lazy at what I do." He shrugged. "It's what I'm good at so might as well incorporate it with my profession, right? At any rate, tell me a bit about ya'self. Hobbies, likes, dislikes... it might help to lessen the nervous tension. Trust me I'm shakin' in my boots right now..." He smiled pulling his leg from under the table to reveal his snake skin boots, "...Literally."
