What would one use to make Mello's pants from Death Note? In pictures they look kinda shiny, but I'd rather not mess with PVC, though I might consider it if anybody has any pointers. I also don't want them so shiny they look tacky.

Just regular leather pants. That's what most people use and it looks alot better than PVC. Don't bother trying to make them, just go to a trift store and get them for cheap. =P

I just have to convince my mom that the little thrift store my church (within walking distance) runs does not cut it when you're looking for tight leather pants. (Plus my mom does not support my trying to be Mello cuz I told her his pants lace up the crotch and she doesn't like that.)

lol I can understand that, but I say just go with a regular zipper. Probably a better idea all around. ^^"

o.o okay then... get regular leather pants, cut off the zipper, hem it, sew a piece of black stretchy fabric (if you can find big squares of elastic use that) to the inside so you can't see your underwear ^^", then add the string where the zippers used to be.
