The release date for HBP has been delayed. It's horrible I know, we should all go and protest, but it's not their fault. Due to the writers strike, the movie has been delayed until
July 17 2009
It's horrible, we know, and it's awful. But that is whats happening.
Damn writers. Go back to work.

Ummm... I'm not that disappointed, actually. I wasn't impressed with how they did OOP, so if they take an extra year or so to make this one better, I really don't mind.

You know what cracks me up (except not really)? They move HBP, a movie I was actually quite looking forward to despite my disappointment in the movies in general, to next year and make me wait another seven months AND they move Twilight, a movie I'm sort of excited for but it's kind of whatever, up three weeks...to November 21, HBP's original release date. O.<
I am slightly frustrated with WB at the moment. I am fully convinced they moved HBP's release date because they're greedy and want to make that much more money en lieu of OotP's earnings a couple summers ago. The repercussions of the writer's strike is just a side issue.

That is much like my reaction to turning the Seventh movie into two movies.

I was actually quite happy about the seventh movie split. If it gives them more time to get the massive plot into the movie, then I'm all for it. There is just too much in DH that absolutely cannot be cut. It seems necessary.

It didn't get postponed so that they would have more time, it got postponed because of the writers strike. Without the writers to write the screneplay, ect. then they definitely have to postpone it. Hopefully they wont have to postpone it again.

When I told a few people at school who didn't know that it was moved back, they were all accusing me of lying. One even started crying! We had all planned that, as soon as school got out, that we would hitch rides with each other and go wait out in front of the theatre from 2:40(when school gets let out) to 7:10(when the movies usually start) We did that for OotP, and my god was it fun.
And they seriously moved Twilight up to the 21? Awesome. Now I can have an excuse to wear my 'I AM A TEENAGE WEREWOLF' shirt that I made for the BD release. smile

My friends and I had all planned to see HBP together, but now that it's coming out in July, we won't all be together at school. Sad day. We're definitely going to see Twilight together, though, despite that fact that it's the weekend before finals. xD

I was very pissed when I heard that. Especially since I swear MONTHS ago I had read that they had FINISHED filming of HBP or maybe I assumed they had finished filming HBP because I read they had started filming DH *shrugs* I wish I could remember which it was. Either way I'm still pissed! mad

I've heard rumors that they're thinking of changing the date back...but those are just rumors.
