It wasn't fair... but it was the decision she had chosen.
She had been too careless, free spirited and irresponsible until now, when she decided to remain in Api and watch over her weak and elderly father's pack. Savitri bore a foreign tokoro's children, and she couldn't even be a good mother and follow the family to Tanah. Her children must despise her now for abandoning them.
Why did she have to be an only child? ..This was to atone for being disrespectful to her family and her pack. Maybe she'll even give up on loving again.
The female tokoro was spending her time alone, close to the village while the others slept peacefully. Her once cheerful expression had changed to that of a solemn one, and she was idly peeling the skin off of an orange. Maybe she could visit her children once in a while, but would they even want to see her again?
She sighed.

Despite the heaviness that had now formed in the air around the orange tokoro, there seemed to be nothing on the mind of a tall little white and red kit that was laying on his back pawing at a few cumbersome leaves that had drifted overhead. His blue eyes peered off into the deep blue sky above him, watching the random drifting storm clouds that brought a feeling of rain in the wind even though there wasn't one squirt of water that fell from them.
The bright eyes seemed to giggle as his tail shifted back and forth, no doubt rustling the trees of the bush he had hidden under. If he had thought of it, he would have realized that to any onlooker he was giving away his position, but the little kit's mind was on the heavens above.

The female's ears perked up at the sound of giggles, almost assuming it was one of her children. But, alas, her children were already far away from now.. though, she knew well enough that the innocent laugh she heard was not from the figments of her imagination. The sound was close by, and so she placed the half peeled orange aside and went to look for this.. child. Maybe it was one of the children from her pack.
Savitri was wrong when she laid eyes on the little kit, who was occupied with the leaves. She blinked, but then her lips curled into a grin.
"Isn't it your bed time, kid? Where's your mother?"

The sudden voice broke into Akieruo's play. His whole body jumped slightly at the noise, blinking blue eyes at the female that was now intruding upon his space. "My... my mother?" He frowned a little, his head moving to the side in a quizzical glance at her question. "I dunno, I don't have one." Musing, he tried to ignore the female. He didn't exactly like the question about his family. As far as he knew he didn't have one, he had always been alone. Pawing back at the leaves, he could feel her eyes upon him. Pulling eyes away from the greenery he had a sudden feeling she wasn't going to leave that easily, "Did I do something wrong?"

Savitri blinked. No mother? Was this child.. abandoned? There was a sudden pang of guilt in her heart, but at least she had left her children to a good father.. and another good father. Two fathers.. True, they would be ridiculed for having no mother, but at least they will know the importance of what being a family means.
She just smiled down at the little boy and chuckled. "No, nothing at all. It's just that it's getting dark, and it could be dangerous for a kit to be wandering around on his own."
Her lips curled into a grin. "Are you hungry?"

"I'm always out at this time and I've never been in any trouble!" He grinned a bit, wiggling in place when he saw her looking at him. The seriousness of her expression made his die down a little. "It's not so scary out here... you just have to know where to sleep and find food." He whispered the last bit of it as if it were a secret. "Hungry?" Musing, his eyes wandered down to his stomach. "Actually..." He felt his stomach rumbling and he placed his paws on it. "I am... but I could probably find something.. there has to be some berries around here somewhere..." His head wandered off in a direction, searching for something edible.

Her brows raised. The young one was already so independent at such a young age.. It was a little sad, and he hasn't even experienced the love of being in a family. Savitri had taken it for granted when she was younger.. and now she regrets it. She continued to watch the kit, making sure he wouldn't wander off too far.
"I have some fruit ready here," the female said with a light grin, trying not to sound too serious. "Why don't you share it with me?"
"I'm on duty to watch over my family.. a friend would be nice, too. The name's Savitri -- what's your name, kid?"
