You know when you see a girl with the nautical stars on her chest, a guy with swallows on his back, or someone with the butterfly on the small of their back, do you consider these types classic or over used?
I personally think they're classic or traditional, and for me, you cant over do a trusted classic XD

I think its both.
Its a classic cause I see a lot of people getting tribals.
Its overused because I see too many stars and butterflies when I go to the beach.
Sorry to say I don't have a classic tattoo.

i have a set of wings on my back. and ppl are real like 'oh, ur one of them??'
but its not like that. they are my wings, they help me fly away

You know what's really overused now? Lip piercings. They used to be so classic, I felt. But now all of those "scene" kids have them. It's so annoying. Nothing is NOT overused now.

If you have a tribal, you should just tear it off right now.

thats a little uncalled for =/ anyway to the OP:: Hmm... I believe they're over-used when you get them BECAUSE they're classic designs... I personally believe each and every tattoo should mean something to you, represent something about you, or show a significant chapter in your life... So, if you have swallows or sparrows on you, if you got them because their meaning or history is important to you, its classic... if you got it because its a "nice design everyone wears" then its over-used... My ex friend got a sparrow on her left clavicle... when she heard i didnt like the design she threw a fit saying her's was a "classic design hence why it actually looks good" ... a subtle shot at my apparently "trashy" tramp stamp... but I feel that most likely she'll regret it later because she only got it because it was "classic" ... where as mine may be a little thick, or too large to others... or maybe you dont like tribal... but its my tattoo customized to me and you will most likely not see anyone with that design

Thanks On topic, I chose my design Because it was classic and beautiful. I didn't pick it out of a book at the parlor, I looked for a bird I really loved for a while, and found it in the most oblivious place... I soon after learned the sailors origin, and became VERY glad I only ended up with the one bird (big fiasco with my dad while I was at my shop sweatdrop ) Because when I eventually end up going over seas, I can fulfill the real meaning of the birds.

They are over used, maybe once they were classics, but now you see them everywhere. That's why I went with a Chaos Star, lol.
