The light brown mare moved swiftly as she did so often. Her legs moving in time with each other she moved slowly, her mane half covering her face as she moved.

Her tail flicked behind her as she moved, she wasn't exactly paying attention to life right now, why would she. She cared little about others and what they thought about her and she only cared about helping people, making sure the lonley had friends.

She found herself heading down towards the water, she liked it down there, it was always so calm. It helped her relax.

Thestral had been wandering, as usual. Jewel seemed rather distracted these days; too distracted to really pay much attention to the kalona. Faola ignored him, so the stallion found his way to the water's edge to get something to drink and a bite to eat.

Dragonic wings are smoothed quietly against his flanks, and there's something distinctly reptillian about his entire appearance. Even his tongue, as it flicks in and out, is vaguely snake-like and long. He's crunching quite happily on something bloody that may, once upon a time, have been a living squirrel. It's difficult to tell.

Artemis reached the water before she noticed the black stallion with strange wings. She smiled at him before drinking some of the water. She needed a drink.

She turned to the stallion and smiled, she couldn't remember ever seeing him but then she had been away from social creatures for so long she had indeed forgotten what it was like!

"Hello there sir." She smiled, tilting her head ever so slightly. Her tail flicked behind her as she looked at the strange and curious creature in front of her.

There was a clear crunch as Thestral breaks through some more bones, and swallows hastily, raising his head. He doesn't seem to need to blink as much as other soquili; he stares quite curiously at Artemis, his head cocked like a bird's.

He gives his tail a little swish at her words, almost like a dog wagging it's tail at a stranger. Other than that, there's no indication that he realized Artemis spoke at all; he merely gives a little whine that's coupled with a hiss. But there's absoluely nothing threatening in his manner: he looks quite at ease, still watching her.

She didn't even flinch at the cracking noise though yes, it was most definatly true that it scared her a little. He didn't look friendly but she refused to believe he wasn't, everyone had some sort of goodness in them.

"Please mister... can you speak?" She spoke softly and slowly walked towards the stallion. She was slightly confused to why he would not talk but she would make him, she had to! She wanted to make friends.

(:giggles at phoenix: As long as we RP in-thread? xd I'm bad at responding to guild RPs.)

Again, it's difficult to tell if he actually understands what she's saying, but he quite politely dips his head down, picks up the remainder of the squirrel, and edges closer, dropping it quite neatly in front of her and nosing it toward her. Looking immensely pleased with himself, he gives his tail another brisk whisk, making the same hissing whine, and giving her a look as if to ask: 'There; aren't you proud of me?'

She smiled as he did what he did.

"You are a strange boy." She laughed and walked over to him, she wanted to touch his wings. She picked up the squirrel on the way to him and dropped it infront of him trying to get him to eat it, she was a grass girl!

She moved closer to him, stretching her neck to try and touch his wings without him becomming alarmed.

"You are a funny thing..." She spoke softly, very softly.

He seems a little puzzled as to her actions; she doesn't want to eat the nice and tasty squirrel? But perhaps she's just eatten. His features smooth out into a carefree look, and he happily gulps down the remainder of the squirrel. Despite looking (and perhaps acting) a bit like a monster, his habits are as fastidious as a wolf's, for every bit of blood or fur is washed away from his jaws by that longer-than-normal tongue.

He jumps slightly as she touches his wings, but then stands quietly still: he's learned long ago that if he makes too many sudden movements, other soquili tend to get nervous. Curiously, however, her reaches out to snuffle at her mane.

She smiled as he touched her mane and she rubbed her head against him, he felt different from most normal Soquili but yet he was also sweeter and seemed kinder.

"How am I to know your name, you are so silent.." She watched him again, fascinated by him.

"I am Artemis or Artie or Arty or whatever.." She chuckled a little. The black demon like soquili was the reason she never judged anyone by looking at them.

Thestral looks quite content, tugging a little at a lock of her mane like a puppy. He's already committed her scent to memory: it's how he 'names' everyone he comes in contact with.

"Thestral! Thestral!" A magnificant unicorn stallion steps out of the forest, frowning, and the kalona drops Artemis's mane and nickers at him. It sounds as if he has a difficult time doing it...like it was only a poor copy of something he heard before. But the dark stallion looks delighted to see the older, white one, although he doesn't move from his spot.

Jewel, seeing that his adopted 'son' ('pet' might be the better word for it) isn't alone, hastens over. "I've been looking everywhere for you," he mutters, shaking out his mane and scolding. "You need to stop wandering off like that, I turn my back and you're gone. Heaven knows what you'd get up to if left on your own." He looks rather guiltily over to Artemis. "I hope he's not bothering you, miss...?"

She looked confused for a second but looked at the black stallion again, "You are Thestral? Lovely name.." She smiled at him before turning suddenly.

"Oh no, he couldn't possibly be a bother, he is just so sweet." She smiled at the black stallion again. "Does he understand me? When I talk to him?" She looked curious, this stallion could be such a great friend, he seemed so affectionate.

Jewel looks relieved that the strange mare isn't frightened by the kalona's appearance, and relaxes accordingly. "Ah - no, I don't particularly think so. I've tried to teach him to speak, but I don't think he can...at least, not in terms that we can understand. I gave him the name thestral because he looks like a thestral...a legendary soquili I heard of when I was a foal." He watches the dark stallion, who prances around them three times in a circle, bounding like a very overgrown kitten, before coming to a dust-strewn halt inbetween them again, curving his wings back once more and shaking out his mane cheeruflly.

"My name's Jewel," he adds, belatedly. "Thestral is - er - my adopted son of sorts."

"I am Artemis." She had listened to the story.

"He is so sweet, you have a lovely son there." She smiled at him again. "I expect he would make a good friend, do many meet him?" She had question's and now she had someone who might answer them though she did in a way wish he would leave. She wanted to find a way of communicating with him somehow.

dustfeather

Unfortunately for Artemis, Jewel seems a bit oblivious to her feelings. He watches Thestral lose some interest in them and poke his nose around in the water. "Not really. He tends to be a bit of a loner, seems to like being on his own." In that, Jewel is wrong...but he doesn't pay enough attention to notice.

She looked at Jewel curiously and then at Threstral, "Really? He seemed very social for a loner." She smiled at Jewel polietly and walked slowly towards Threstral.

"Threstral..." She smiled, hoping he would understand her. He nudged at his side lightly and somewhat playfully. She wanted to get him to understand her someway and he seemed to be a physical creature.

Thestral glances up at hearing his name; that seems to be a word he does know. His muzzle is wet through from the water; he blows the droplets away noisily, happily. At the nudge, his eyes brighten and he nudges back, but immediately jumps away, sending up a sudden spray of water as he dashes to the bank, then looks back over his shoulder. His indications are pretty obvious: he wants to play tag!

Behind them, Jewel watches for a moment, before shaking his head. He turns about, soft as a mouse, and melts quietly back into the forest, in search of Wambli.

FallenCatAngel (21:01:11): Artemis chuckled somewhat and started to chase after him, she hadn't planned on playing but then again she also wasn't about to leave him either. He was a curious creature.

"Thestral!" She chuckled, letting her legs move as fast as they can after the black Kalona. An odd chase, in her head at least but she enjoyed it.
bluekillerdonkey (21:15:09): He seems pleased that she's chasing after him; his dark long tail swishes cheerfully and his gait takes on a definite prance. He darts to and fro among the trees, losing himself in the shadows. But he can't go that fast, either...his wings don't allow him to, not in the forest like this, at least.

FallenCatAngel (21:19:49): The forest was her home, she had grown up weaving in and out of trees, jumping logs so for her this terrain was right, it was perfect.

She was able to catch up with him in the forest reasonably easy but instead of tagging him she ran straight on and past him, letting her tail fly behind her as she weaved between the trees.
bluekillerdonkey (21:30:24): A look of vague surprise flicks across his features, although it's hard to tell - those features are so reptillian that if you're not looking closely, you'll miss it. It certainly gives him pause, and he almost crashes right into a tree. He manages to catch himself in time, though, just stumbling, and shaking out his wings to balance himself further. A simple snort is given, and it's meaning couldn't be more clear: no way is he going to let someone beat him! With a bugle of challenge, he leaps after her. But his ears are pricked forward, not back: he's obviously still in play mode.

When he reaches a slight break in the trees, he launches himself up and above, spiraling high up. Silence.
FallenCatAngel (21:33:00): Artemis heard something as they reached the break in the trees, looking up she laughed. "Thats cheating!" She shouted up at him. That wasn't fair!

She pushed her body to run faster now, though she was sure she was now using up alot more energy then he was! It was so not fair!
bluekillerdonkey (22:14:59): (geh, sorry, my brain died back there. xD)

WHOOSH. A flap of wings, and he dove down beside her, carefully snapping his wings to his sides right before tree-level, so that he lands rather heavily...but he still manages to land at a run. His muzzle lifts into a parody of a smile - canine teeth and all - and his tongue hangs out just a little, as if he were laughing at her, his ears jauntily thrown forward. But while he's doing this, he's not looking where he's going, and one misplaced twig later, he's fallen head over heels into a small stream.
FallenCatAngel (22:16:35): ((s'ok))

She chuckled as he flew down, so elegantly. It was fun to watch though she never stopped running untill he fell.

She turned and ran at him, slowing down, slowly so not to end up in the same mess that he found himself right now. "Thats what you get for cheating!" She chuckled and nudged him
